When the sixer hired Doc rivers 2-3 years ago, some clips fans came and warned of the risks on Doc. Sixers fans laughed at them and said its Kawhi and PG that let Doc down. We all knew what happens to Doc in his sixer’s disastrous tenure.
Now PG sign for the sixer. Again some clipper fans came and warned of PG’s weakness (low basketball IQ, injuries, playoff underperformance, etc) and question the prices they paid for him. The same group of sixers fans come and make fun of them, saying that it’s because Morey is so “ smart” in luring him away from the clips.
Here’s a question to all the sixer fans: Steve ballmer is the richest nba owner and has paid 2B to build a new arena. If you see a man of such wealth level and commitment to the team chooses not to pay PG an extra year of 50-60m and even let the player walk out for free without compensation, do you smell anything wrong?

@@Snipergangecan harden get steals sure, but i dont go by media, i watched the games... Harden got blown by so much or his go to was attempt to take a charge because he couldnt keep up with foot work. And this isnt saying im liking pg more... Its more i knew what we are getting in harden, and again unless he scores in that 20-30 ranges he is again not an asset at this point

Lakers. As bad as it is for the Clippers at least they are a middle of the pack playoff team whereas the Lakers are Play-in team at best. If the NBA draft is any sign of the current state of the Lakers front office then they will likely give Lebron the crazy max number I have seen floated around. Worse yet, if they bring in Klay Thompson the team will be comprised of a overpaid post-prime core (to be kind), Reeves is their only decent young player which means he is trade bait, and a bunch of mercenaries who are FA for a good reason. The cherry on top is as long as Lebron is there they are never going to try to rebuild from the draft which means the few picks they do have will evaporate like a puddle in the desert. Dont get me wrong both teams are screwed, but if you ask me to pick between the two I would take the Clippers.

Id disagree. Yes the Lakers were a play in team the last 2 years but this is the same Lakers team that was in the WCF just a year ago. Don't get me wrong as a Lakers fan I'm still worried but they still have LeBron and AD as well as the ability to get younger thru the draft which the clippers do not. And you say the clippers are a middle of the road western conference team? How you lost Paul George for nothing, kawhi still can't stay healthy Westbrook there trying to trade so it's who exactly an injury prone kawhi and a year older harden with no ability to just blow it up because of lack of draft picks? As chaotic as the Lakers are id still rather be the Lakers

At 50 mill a year clippers were smart to let him walk a little weird they didn't at least do a sign & trade to get something back instead of losing him for nothing. Clippers weren't winning nothing paying pg that much especially when kawhi no matter how much he sits in the regular season just can't stay healthy for a playoff run. Probably should trade kawhi at this point a duo of kawhi & harden likely a play in team at best

PG is an inefficient iso scorer and needs a proper system to maximize his potential, but the Clippers just wants to kiss Ty Lue's butt. Lue's max extension was the final nail in the coffin for them.
This clown of an FO just essentially traded PG for Harden! PG is in a much better place now playing for Nick Nurse, while the Clippers' championship window is now completely closed. There's no coming back for them.

Just accept it. Look at Donnie Mitchell getting his new contract with a new front hole coach. Paycheck player. He could have gone to any contender but chose the same course. Paycheck player.

I’m sorry. You really have no idea about the current NBA world under the new CBA. You think the John Collins trade to Utah, Davion Mitchell trade to the raptors and now the KCP/ PG “walk away for free” are due to the stupidity of the Teams? Get real. We’re talking about the richest owner in the NBA and you think he is just “cost conscious” of not giving him 50-60M more after paying 2B for a new arena?
In todays league, Just by being a good player doesn’t mean a team should keep him. It’s all about the price and the age.
Specifically This man is 34 YO and is already on quasi retirement mode. He’s asking for a 200M deal till 38. I won’t be surprised if he turn to full retirement mode after year 1. So the sixers are stuck with three 45-50M players, two of whom have had very long track record of injuries and playoff underperformance. So that’s 150m per year or 20-30M below the first apron on JUST 3 players.
As for why they didn’t do SAT, that’s because they will be way above the 2nd apron when they do contract exits ions for T Mann and Zubac next season. That’d be disastrous considering that the team is not good enough to challenge a title.
If I were the clippers, I’d rather keep my flexibility to sign 3 more non tax MLE Derrick jones over the next 2-3 years rather than paying 55M to a 38 YO retiree.
It’s fair to criticise why they trade their entire future for this man 4-5 years ago. In hindsight, that’s a bad move. But as far as what they did today to let him go for free, that’s entirely the correct move.

Do you really sign George knowing that him and Leonard have grossly underachieved?????? Trading George for Alexander from OKC is really making the Clippers look stupid. That may down as one of the worst trades in NBA history.......are the Sixers coming out of the East signing George. No. If the Clippers did are they coming out of West? Maybe. On a scale of 1-10 maybe 5 or 6.......why would DeRozen sign with them???? To me better off with Chicago. Can get more money and you know where they stand. Clippers are a dumb franchise. He is better staying Chicago than being with a delusional franchise. The Sixers need to tear that franchise down. Not coming out of the east next year. They need to trade Embid while he has value because they are not winning ANYTHING......whether they sign George or not Clippers are done. DeRozen signing with them is a joke because of Leonard gets hurt which he will same situation as Chicago........needs to go back to Chicago and call it a day........
