Hotel Nirjhara, Bali - phenomenal tree house in a luxurious boutique hotel near Kedungu Beach

- The luxurious boutique hotel Nirjhara is located amidst palm trees and green rice fields near Tabanan on the southwest coast of Bali. Our room, a dreamlike tree house, is an oasis of tranquility. We reach the nearby Kedungu Beach after a lovely walk through the rural surroundings.
Nirjhara, Sanskrit for “waterfall,” is a unique jungle resort with 25 villas and suites. The facility opened in 2021. The hotel is located away from the major tourist centers in the village of Tabanan. The nearest beach is Kedungu Beach, approximately 1.5 km away. The hotel's concept relies on seamless integration into the rural surroundings. The eponymous waterfall on the site offers a beautiful natural spectacle. The suites and villas are located between and under trees and are an oasis of peace and relaxation. The design combines contemporary architecture and modern comfort with authentic local influence. The eco-resort uses recycled wood, natural stones from across the archipelago and traditional sirap roofs. The rooms are decorated with warm wooden colors that harmonize beautifully with the lush green nature around them. The decor is by local artisans and contemporary Indonesian artists.
Our room is a Canopy Suite, a tree house between coconut palms. It has one bedroom and a private roof terrace. The walls of the room are covered with recycled iron wood and teak, giving the room a very warm and cozy atmosphere. The large window provides lots of light and allows a wonderful view of the garden. But the highlight is the private, secluded roof terrace with a breathtaking view of the rice fields. The play of colors is particularly fascinating at sunset. You can also enjoy the sunset in the oversized, free-standing bathtub. There is also a nice, comfortable lounger where you can relax wonderfully.
After a nice walk through the village and the rice fields we reach Kedungu Beach. The beach is a dark volcanic sand beach and is particularly popular with surfers who benefit from the powerful waves. It is also suitable for swimming and long walks on the beach. There is plenty of space for everyone. We walk along the beach and watch the surfers' attempts.
Very close by, only about 4 km away, is the famous Tanah Lot temple, whose visit should not be missed on a Bali vacation. Our video about this temple is still in progress!
We really liked this:
- The treehouse villa is exceptional due to its layout. The roof terrace is a dream.
- The restaurant offers excellent Indonesian dishes and you can sit very nicely with a view of the waterfall. The breakfast is also very tasty.
- The hotel itself is very quiet and has a very relaxed atmosphere.
- The environment is very rural and quiet.
We didn't like this much:
- The hotel does not have direct beach access. But that didn't bother us personally; our walk through the village and the rice fields to the beach was beautiful. You just have to get used to the dogs running around freely, but they were all peaceful.
Our conclusion: The hotel is highly recommended for relaxing days. There is no trace of the tourist hustle and bustle of the south coast here.

Hallo ihr Beiden, das ist ja absolut wundervoll. Soviel schöner als dieses namenlosen Bettenbunker. Sehr liebevoll gemacht. Das Mittagessen- richtig farbenfroh. Nicht so schlimm dass man zum Strand laufen muss, so sieht man noch ein bisschen was von der Umgebung. Toller breiter Sandstrand. Ein schönes Hotel im Baumhaus-Stil. Aufwändig gemacht und was ganz anderes als so eine "Bettenburg", da macht der Urlaub bestimmt Spaß. Der Sonnenuntergang über den Reisfeldern war toll. Viele Grüße Lars
