18/22! Very fun! The Luxembourgish one was tricky lmao
For Mongolian I think the language has its own alphabet which is written in vertical, but idk if it can be written in Cyrillic too
yeah modern Mongolian is written with the Cyrillic alphabet, though they do still learn the traditional script even though it's mostly just used in art and calligraphy
Yeah that Mongolian alphabet is truly beautiful 🥰
You got one more point than me! I messed up the first one and thought it was Greek for some reason.
me too 18/22
Fun fact! Mongolia intends to fully convert from Cyrillic to the traditional Mongolian script this century!
Got them all right! Greetings and much love from Friesland!
19/22 Nice vid. Keep it up!
21/22 missed galician
Galician and Portuguese are very alike. As a native Portuguese speaker, I had no doubt when I saw the Galician in this video.
Got it all right.
12/22
22/22 Great video!
20/22
7:02 My mother tongue ! 🇬🇷🇨🇾
Χα! Δεν έχω ξαναδεί Έλληνα ίουτουμπερ στο ΊουΤουμπ! Είναι υπέροχο! (Μένω στην Οκλαχόμα, ΗΠΑ)
20/22 pretty good
#20 Having Latvian as one of the options versus Hawaiian...it might seem easy but for me it was weirdly confusing. Good match.
22/22. Love languages.
15/22 - more than a half!! Nailed it. 👍👍👍👍
19/22 - thanks for this! I missed Kazakh and Mongolian (I haven't studied any languages that use the Cyrillic alphabet, so haven't figured out yet how to distinguish them) and Maltese
almost the same, i did get Maltese but bruhh idk how to read Cyrillic alphabet and even if I could I'd never distinguish most of them 💀
@@galmay_ cyrillic is amazing, I recommend to learn it!
It was kinda similar for me, also sort of like 18 or 19 out of 22, but how on Earth was that first ‘Faroese’ one Faroese? Faroese does not have this type of  letter and that spelling, unless it’s some ‘dialect’ version aka another Faroese-based language or Old Faroese etc, the second one that was labeled Faroese is indeed Faroese tho, as I am learning Faroese and I know the spelling and the aspect and the letters of Modern Faroese! But I guessed almost all of them, and I could immediately guess the Icelandic one as I am learning Icelandic + Norse and I know lots of words, and I am also learning the other foreign Germanic languages, but yea, the first one that was labeled Faroese was very confusing, and also the Mongolian one that looked like Russian, and also the ‘Khmer’ one that looked just like Thai, and it didn’t look like the one I saw on other wss that said it was Khmer, so some of these may have actually been mislabeled, I don’t know...
I am learning all the foreign Germanic languages, so I can immediately recognize almost all of them, especially the official version of each Germanic language and most of the Old and Middle versions and many of the other languages that are based on the official languages and that are usually referred to as dialects, even though they are usually different languages as they are using a different spelling with different letters or diphthongs etc - I highly recommend learning Icelandic + Norse and Dutch and Norwegian etc, which are the prettiest and most refined and most poetic languages ever, as pretty / refined / poetic as English, so they are too pretty not to know, and the other Germanic languages are also gorgeous, and also Welsh and Breton and the other 4 modern Celtic languages, and Galician etc!
By the way, my current levels are...
- writer level in English
- native speaker level in Spanish
- advanced level in Dutch
- upper intermediate (close to advanced) level in Norwegian
- intermediate level in German / Swedish / Portuguese / French / Italian
- upper beginner (close to intermediate) level in Old Norse / Icelandic / Welsh
- beginner level in Breton / Hungarian / Gothic / Latin / Faroese / Galician / Danish / Slovene
- total beginner in Cornish / Manx / Irish / Scottish Gaelic / Aranese / Elfdalian / Gallo / Limburgish / Occitan / Luxembourgish / Catalan / East Norse / Ripuarian / Swiss German / Alemanic / Austrian German / PlatDeitsch / Greenlandic Norse / Friulian / Pretarolo / Sardinian / Neapolitan / Sicilian / Venetian / Esperanto / Walloon / Ladin / Guernsey / Norn / Burgundian / West Frisian / North Frisian / East Frisian / Finnish / Latvian / Estonian etc (and the other languages based on Dutch / German / Norwegian / Italian / French that are referred to as ‘dialects’ but are usually a different language with different spelling etc)
Very, very easy. 22/22
How easy? I got like 10
@@Moiaija Well.... it's easy if you happen to "know" all the languages here, harder if you don't ;-)
19/22
22/22
Eaaaasyyyy 22/22
19/22 wonderful!
Got all of them right! 🤩
1) Bulgarian 2) Chinese 3) Finnish 4) Thai 5) Swedish 6) Icelandic 7) Filipino 8) Italian 9) Somali 10) Frisian 11) French 12) Maltese 13) Faroese 14) Kazakh 15) Polish 16) German 17) Galican 18) Thai 19) Mongolian 20) Hawaiian 21) Greek 22) Portuguese
21/22, only mistake on Samoan
18/22, though I admit pretty much all the Kyrillic and Asian languages were lucky guesses. No clue how to distinguish those.
Cyrillic ones are pretty easy if you know which ones include some of the specific letters.
14/22. Not bad.
I had 10 from 22!
I expected this video to be kinda easy because after all it's easier to recognize languages thought texts than through listening. Then me A BULGARIAN saw the first question and I was like "😂😂 Ok I didn't expect it to be THAT easy." I'm curious how many people recognized Bulgarian. Great video tho! It was really fun!
20/22. I realized Luxembourgish just a moment too late.
11/22 half of them right !
7/22
20/22. I missed Khmer and Samoan.
22/22!!!!
20/22. I missed Kazakh and Khmer.
22/22 :)
I think I got like 17
i think i got 18 out of 22 but i lost count. loved this quiz
I yelled out loud when I saw the Luxembourgish one. I speak German and when I looked at it I was like "it's so close to German but not quite, so it must be..." and then I saw the options
22/22, but I got really stuck between Galician and Ligurian. I eventually chose the right answer.
12/22
22/22, almost missed luxembourgish.
22/22 💜 Great video as always! Thank you 🥰
Only ones I missed were the ones written in cyrillic.
I have a hard time distiguishing the languages in them :þ
22/22🎉🥳🎊
100%
14/22 a bit easy
Only got #12 (Maltese) and #14 (Kazakh) wrong. I thought I was gonna get them all right!
This test would've been harder if you added the southern Indian languages. Some of them look too similar to me, whilst I would only recognise Tamil, Telegu, and Malayalam.
There's not enough Indic scripts.
21/22. I don't how to distinguish between Chinese and Japanese
20
It's fun to read European names in Hawaii language. For instance, Susan - Hiuhana, or Herbert - Helipeliki... My name will be Keoliki.
22/22, some the options could be made harder tho. Like "Thai Vietnamese Hebrew" was way too easy. More "Khmer Thai something" style would be appreciated

Missed one
9/22 xdd
I expected an easy prey, but made 4 mistakes - with Khmer, Samoan, Maltese & Galician.
22/22. Better at identifying the languages in text format, than I am at listening to samples. A few of these were difficult, especially where they had the Cyrillic script, but there are things that separate different forms of those, like letters used in one language, but not another. Brilliant vid!
The ones I got wrong was the Swedish one ( I guessed Danish, I literally used a random wheel spinner to decide between the 2 ), Maltese, and Mongolian ( I didn't know Mongolian used the Cyrillic alphabet )
19/22 is pretty good for me
Most of the questions were pretty easy
One way to separate Swedish from Danish/Norwegian is the difference in alphabet: Swedish doesn't have the letters ø and æ.
21/22 I got Mongolian wrong, I thought it was Russian haha

I got everything wrong I got 3/22
Can you, please, make it no-multiple choice?!
You can make that yourself. Just don't look at the choices 😉😉😉
I only got the Ligurian/Galician, the Lithuanian/Maltese and the Russian/Mongolian questions wrong. 21/24 correct! 🎉

19/22, lost points on slavic languages written in cyrillic 💀💀
Not all of them were slavic, kazakh is turkic, cyrillic ≠ slavic
