I have an old station wagon that weighs about 2 1/2 tons and I wouldn't have driven it across that bridge.
That truck weighed MORE than the ENTIRE BRIDGE! Smh! 😂
According to Fords website, a gasoline engine F750 dump truck weighs 33,000 pounds loaded. A diesel equipped one can weigh up to 37,000 pounds depending on equipment. (Backhoe, crane, loader) Call it 16-17 tons fully loaded. Empty weight, without fuel or dump bed is 5600 pounds. Add 1750 pounds for the dump bed. Dual 80 gallon tanks on either side, at approximately 6.5 pounds per gallon.
He should have to spend his whole life paying for the fix.
That’s a bit over kill.
😡 who gave this guy a class 2 license, anyway??? Gee whiz, he couldn’t see all the signs??? I hope they make him pay for repairs!
The GPS said to go this way.
Another DEI employee.
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Any one who drives trucks should have not even thought about going across it
He better hope and pray his insurance is paid up.
I have a small degree of sympathy for the driveway guys company he worked for. They're going to come out holding the dirty end of the stick
Insurance ain't gonna cover this.
@@snoozeflu 🤔🤷 Why not? Unless maybe they skipped a negligence rider or something like that? About all I know about insurance is from paying for it and listening to yours truly, Johnny Dollar. 😏
@@HM2SGT insurance doesn't just blindly cut a check without asking questions. They will find out he was grossly overweight and ignored posted signs and deny his claim.
@@snoozeflu of course. I don't think anybody suggested that they just pay without investigating, but your comments seemed to indicate some possession of knowledge that there wouldn't be a payout period.
I thought perhaps you were suggesting that the company wouldn't be liable due to negligence on the driver's part, that would make a certain amount of sense wouldn't it
But I guess we'll never know
I’m working on the highway, we’ve had the lanes restricted for 3 months and speed limit cut to 45mph, the state police have to watch out for us everyday to keep us from getting ran over by the semis going thru, they pulled a guy over in a semi last week, he was here in the US illegally, no driver’s license much less a cdl, and he was going 71 in a 45 mph construction zone, and loaded at 84,000lbs, 🙄 we can thank the truck companies that build these trucks, and decided that automatic transmissions are the way to go, the fact it took a certain level of skill to be able to even shift a big truck kept a lot of the idiots from thinking they can drive one, now look! 👍 way to go now we got cab drivers driving 18 wheelers.
Typical Steering Wheel Holder right there!!!! must be their flying carpet that weighs 4000 pounds🤣🤣
Great ad for “The driveway guys”
Completely ignored the weight limit signs clearly posted above. That bridge was probably built for horse and buggies before automobiles were even a thing. I hope the driver gets his license revoked.
Sad News, Bridge will be Rebuilt, Driver back on Roads Soon!!! 🤬🤬🤬
😬😬😬😬 😳😳😳😳. 😲😲😲😲
Wow. You’re so fired.
What if he's the owner ?
Well, I think someone is going to be buying Gorham a new bridge, on top of the truck they will have to replace. Landed on its top. He’s lucky, and I’m glad he gets to go home to his family.
So am I, so he can face the music.
It seems as though they need to modernize some bridges, and leave covered bridges for things like foot traffic, bikes or horses.
“This is a first” because no one has ever been dumb enough to do something like this
Polish was he?
we only do lightbulbs and drive backwards, bot this kind of silly stuff!! This is more Jamican to me!!
Chevy Chase in funny farm.
Hope the driver and company enjoy paying for bridge repairs.
How long is the detour for people who use that bridge regularly?
The bridge goes from 6 by 12 lumber to 2 by 12" material as you can clearly see
Because you believe 6 x 12s can hold up 13 tons
@@neilkurzman4907 of course they will as long as they're installed properly
@@Danny-m3v
So you believe that bridge was improperly constructed. It should’ve been able to hold 15 tons of gravel. Plus an additional 7 tons for the truck.
On a bridge that’s marked 3 tons.
@@neilkurzman4907
With an anti-gravity kit installed on the truck it CERTAINLY will!
Sheesh!
Some people!
@@blaydCA your anti-gravity kit isn’t going to help you a lot if you forget to turn it on like this guy did.
He must’ve had an anti-gravity kit cause otherwise I can’t imagine why he thought the bridge would hold him up
Dump trucks should not be allowed on old covered bridges, driver should be made to rebuild the bridge.
"That isn't a bridge! That's termites holding hands!"- Funny Farm😂😂
And that's how you lose your CDL in 5 seconds flat
Nothing more historic than a wooden bridge built in 1976.
Rebuilt. She said rebuilt.
@@Acemechanicalservices Yes. Because it burned down in 1973. Thus, it was built as a replica in 1976.
@@danlowe8684 Well, if they re-used a handfull of original nails and a board or two and really stretched the definition of "rebuilt", it could be concidered rebuilt. I've seen rebuilt Plymouth GTXs with a couple pounds of original metal.
*The bridge was rebuilt and will be rebuilt again. Decades, centuries from now it will be remembered whereas **_you_** will be forgotten less than a generation after you are dead and buried... so YES, it is historical.*
@@HM2SGT OK, so would a bronze statue (replica) of myself in a local park be historical? If so, then I agree with your premise. But in my mind, a replica of the first Model T to roll off the assembly line is something I wouldn't consider historical. The actual Model T or its build sheet, however, I would consider historical in nature.
6000 pound weight limit? A fully loaded Honda Minivan is heavier than that. The IRS gives tax deductions for vehicles with a 6,000lb GVW. Look it up! 6 200lb people in most SUVs exceed that!
What is someone’s thought process when they approach a historic WOODEN bridge in a heavier than average vehicle weighed down further with a heavy load?
My guess is social media, txt messages, or daydreaming about not being behind the wheel of a vehicle… while operating a vehicle. Complacent is the average American’s middle name anymore.
The company's insurance is responsible for the damages. They won't be happy. Their premiums will go up.
Lost the truck too. Motor is hydro locked now. I'm sure his employer is less than impressed.
Correction : Engine is ..... FACTS : #1 All engines burn fuel to make power , #2 All motors use electricity to make power .
