I think your opponent on the second match at 7:10 was trying to do the trick to scam fury with dress down, while also having it still trigger it's ETB, which definitely doesn't work because the evoke trigger is also an ETB, so they trigger at the same time and there isn't a window when you can have one trigger and not the other.
Came here to type exactly that. He had 2 options evoke the Fury and kill things or Evoke fury with the cast on the stack play dress down. But that would not kill the board. You can't scam out fury and get the damage using dress down.
I still dont get it. What did he try to achieve have the creature AND kill everything?
@@TheLuminousCleric I'll break down the opponents misunderstanding of dressdown. Even though @sebasthianne already explained it. The opponent knew that dress down removes ALL abilities from a creature. So what he attempted to do was evoke out fury, then, with fury on the battlefield and the ability on the stack of dealing the 4 divided damage he tried to cast dress down to remove the sacrifice ability. The blunder is here, the evoke trigger is all at once. So by the time the damage resolves fury is then sacrificed to evoke. The only way dressdown can be kept on the battlefield is in response to the cast. But since the abiility was on the stack, then the ability would need to fully resolve before dress down was cast. Thus Fury gets sacrificed.

i kind of want to try heartless summoning in one of these shells. it makes a lot of creatures easer to play and works in place of a sac outlet for the combo. could be fun!
Geth, Thane of Contracts also works if you are looking for a way to give your board -1/-1 (As well as a means of reanimating cards from your grave). Though truthfully it does seem a bit clunky.

I don't think Asmo package is the right partner for this combo, yes the list can be explosive but suffers from consistency and opening hand is so critical in this list. Try GWR and put Spyro Rag Bolt or even DRC UHeat, Vsurge/Synthesizer. Can even put Ephemerate Solitude Fury.
But you need black for sac outlets else the como doesn't work

I think they thought they could get the fury ETB trigger but neuter the Evoke trigger. sadly you cant have both.
Even if that could work, they still stacked the evoke trigger on top 😭

I’ve seen this new combo but run with out asmo cookbook I don’t really see why your adding those cards over dorks and search to field effects.

This deck badly needs a Finale of Devastation, gets both Asmo or the combo pieces.

Was inspired by this video to make a version of the deck for Historic on Arena, and I'm quite satisfied by the result!
Obviously it's missing Asmo, Cookbook, Dragster, Vial, Seer and Feeder, so I decided to make it a bit more on the tutor-ish side with Invasion of Ikoria, Invasion of Ixalan and Trail of Crumbs, and the Cauldron Familiar sac outlet has been changed to Ashnod's Altar which goes quite well with Trail of Crumbs IMO.

Idk isnt coco really good in this deck i know u sometimes can get combo pieces when u dont want them but its alot of hits and value
Usually CoCo decks run 30+ creatures in order to minimize the chance to whiff with CoCo. The deck in this video only runs 26 creatures in favor of an artifact synergy package. The deck's gameplay is to create and utilize food tokens with Samwise + cauldron familiar. Combined with Urza's saga, aether phial, underworld cookbook, springleaf drum and witch's oven as one-of's, as well as 2x haywire mite, 2x nihil spellbomb and pithing needle in the sideboard and this version of the deck becomes a lot harder to shut down and has a lot of ways to deal with and adapt to the opponent's deck, in my opinion.
