I’m 63 years old and wish I had this wisdom many years earlier! You are wise beyond your years.
As a certified homebody, this message resonates w me. I find peace in solitude. It calms me. Gives me time to process thoughts & emotions w/o distractions. Some of my favorite activities I do alone...reading, bike riding, cooking. I don't feel bored or like I'm missing out. Some people have a hard time being alone w their thoughts & feelings so they need distractions. This is a much needed message. Thank you Tim! 💖

This is so true. People do mistake peace for boredom. My husband is a Christian man who likes to go to church & read the Bible. He’s STABLE, he’s kind, he doesn’t need a lot of excitement. I tell young women, “ain’t nothing like good treatment!” He will give me his last dime; doesn’t care if my hair is short or long, or I can wear a paper bag on my head….he’s cool with me however I wear my hair or whatever I want to wear. I love that.

@@Gurl-5150 a tree is known by the fruit it bears. My husband is 94, in perfect health, still cuts his own yard, takes out the trash, takes no medication whatsoever, and he gets up to thank God every day he’s living. He unselfishly still helps with the local food distribution ministry picking up food to distribute to families, and he’s the most respected deacon in his church & community. He loves God & desires to live right. Joke all you want, but there’s nothing like a real man of God.
Love seeing a young man talking about this kind of subject, this is a lesson that takes so many people a lifetime to learn, if they ever learn it at all. So much pressure to be this or that, so much noise coming at us that it's hard to find yourself, let alone accept yourself. Getting stuck on becoming this "ideal" version of ourselves is really just a prison we create for ourselves. Keep up the positive talk!

Another thing, he respects women. A lot of men thinks it’s okay to disrespect or hit a woman….not my guy; he would never hit me. He wants to live right before God, so he honors me, loves me & respects me.
You are so right Tim! My husband and I are both retired and in our 60's after both of us having busy careers. We see some of our friends constantly posting about traveling, cruises, etc. Both of us love to be home! I love to read, cook, garden and keep a beautiful home. My husband loves to work outside and keep up on all the yardwork. We still like to go out to eat once in a while and do short road trips. We find peace and relaxation in our own back yard! 💗

Tim grab a cool drink and sit outside on the porch and listen to sitting on the. Dock of the bay. That’s chillin I gave me my best life at 71 years old! Just have to relax and love finds you!!

Tim, not only does lack of drama not equal boring, don't let society make you feel like, if you prefer being alone, OR, if you don't meet anyone who shares your interests, that that means any less about yourself and your choices. When I was younger, I really wanted to be in relationships, but by the time I was in my early 30s, I started wanting more & more time to myself, especially to pursue my hobbies & spend time with friends & family. Now that I'm in my late 50s, I'm good with the choices I made. I love the solitude. That's *my* happy space. It's not for everyone. But no one can shame me for making my choices, because I served my family, I still serve my community, I care for rescue pets, and I share the things I'm good at with anyone who can use my help - I'm not selfish, I just like solitude. No one should allow others to dictate what their happiness is to them. As long as you aren't hurting others, as long as one spreads love (it's the only thing that truly matters), it's all good. ☮️
In an interview Oprah once said that when she first met her life partner, Steadman, her girlfriends warned her that he was dull and boring. As she got to know him, she found him to be a principled man who was a very deep thinker....not at all dull or boring...just not really into a lot of drama. A perfect match for her.

It's whatever feeds your soul. I'm old enough to be your grandma and I can tell you, you're right. You stumbled on this wisdom at a young age. 🥰 Most of us take a few decades more to realize it.
I would go to the shore with my guy. He sea fishes, I sit in my chair & read my book. It works for both

You have a wise soul Tim. I find myself a bit anxious when bumping into people I’ve not seen for a while and they say “so what you been up to?”. Feeling like I’m going to be judged bc often I haven’t been doing anything other than going to work!! My life is very boring and peaceful but it’s fine I like it that way 😂
Thanks Tim. Good talk! I’m sure lots of people would find my life boring but I don’t care. They don’t have to live it. I am sure I would not want to live their life either. 🤷🏻♀️ And that’s okay. The older you get, the more you realize that it is okay to live a life that others don’t understand.

So true, my husband and I do not like to travel much even though we have traveled. We like being at home, cooking making our home pretty with DIY projects etc

To get this at such a young age means you're on the right path little brother. I struggle a bit with people saying I'm odd because I like books and birds and trees. I learned that separating myself immediately from the negativity works wonders. So continue on your own path, you have a great start. I wish you and your brother much success and happiness ❤❤

You are so right. When I read this above, it sounds like nirvana sometimes.
But, when I first started trying to do this, I felt guilty. Thinking to myself "Why am I not cleaning up and hauling all the junk I have down to the dumpster?" Or some many things like that. But, I try to tell myself, convince myself, it's okay to do literally nothing "productive" all day. But in the end, spending a day like this is beyond productive. It's important to ask yourself "can this wait? Can it be done tomorrow or the next day?" That's what I ask myself. I hate being a slave to time. What time it is. Having to rush and worry about time. And unplugging has become way easier.
As far aa going out for a good time, I just do it when I want. And when I'm around people that are like, let's go, go, go, do this and do that, I've become old enough to say no. And sometimes they look at me like I have some problem. Fuck them. Learning to say no and not caring what they think will quickly show you who you don't enjoy hanging with. Find and be with people that accept and enjoy being around you. They are out there.
Excellent quote! You are so right! People think that if they're not "doing something", then something is wrong with them. NOT TRUE. Once you achieve peace for yourself, never change it for anyone.
A friend's eife left him because, she said, he was boring. That was over 20 years ago. Unfortunately, he still repeats it. I told him, you've repeated this to yourself so many times, you've made yourself believe it. And also you tell everyone you meet, do they'll believe it too.. Never take on board what one person might think of you.
