I think people are used to the Nolan films and the Arkham Knight Batmobile. Several Batmobiles throughout the years were just elongated cars with a bat theme to it.
Kaya was very drunk, but that wasn't even a true statement, it was just Andrew trying to make him feel bad. Andrew could have at that point, instead of making it incredibly awkward, started actually contributing to the topic of the podcast instead of just sitting their silently like he did for the 20 minutes before he said that.

I don't see how Andrew's not the Karen here to Kaya.
I agree with Andrew about Batman and his detective skills. So many previous Batman movies focus solely on the fact that Batman can beat your ass, but ignore how intelligent Batman actually is.

Listening to this segment made me physically cringe harder than I did 6 years ago when I went to watch the first Suicide Squad movie when it released in theaters. 48:14 Batman is in his 2nd year, he's not going to have a fucking billion-dollar tank in his early years. You can see that this is the very first iteration of his Batmobile because they are still putting it together earlier in the film. 49:00 Not hundreds of people, like 3 or 4 truckers 49:12 Batman directly caused these deaths? Did they not see the moment where Penguin literally SLAMS HIS BRAKES INTO THE FRONT OF ONE OF THE SEMIS, CAUSING IT TO SWERVE? Penguin was the one who directly caused these deaths, NOT Batman. 49:33 Kaya doesn't understand the reason Batman makes that point to someone is because they are trying their best to kill someone, saying that doing so will "only make them as bad" as the baddies. Also the primary function of the Batmobile is to be a "fast car" above everything else, it's meant for chasing down criminals who are fleeing by car and for fast transportation around the city. Don't know of it's the editing or what, but Batman never caused the car crash, penguin did (not that starting a chase in a crowded freeway is wise since he could easily put a tracker on penguin's car). Batman actually gave a more lethal attacks to stop him AFTER penguin caused the crash

Since it's only Batman's 2nd Year it does make sense for him to not have a super crazy high-tech Batmobile, and not killing people has always been a rule of his. Penguin causing all that mayhem on the bridge, and Batman not really being phased by all the death. I'm glad it was 3 hours, because it makes it way more worth the money, and I don't care how long it is as long as it's good all the way through. Robert Patenson was a fantastic Batman. His Bruce Wayne wasn't great, but no matter who played him, he was supposed to be more on the moody/depressed side, so it didn't really bother me(as long as the writing makes him more like his comic/past live action counterparts). They've confirmed that the Joker scene was just to say that he exist in the world, but he's not being set-up to be in the sequel. The director even said that he wants to do Mr. Freeze so when the sequel eventually happens he'll probably be the main villain(or at least secondary).
There are theories going around that Bane might be introduced as well because of the green adrenaline Batman uses and there is a story where Batman creates the serium and Bane steals it so there is a possibility for a new take on Bane which would be exciting to see

Yes! The JLA comic story Divided We Fall showed this amazingly along with some great dynamics of the other characters. Basically something splits the heroes from their secret identites. Batman is a rich well equipped well trained man but with no passion for fighting while Bruce is an angry moody guy that flips out in rage over minor criminals because Bruce was the man who suffered the tragedy of losing his parents and Batman was his way to seek justice for it. It's a really well done story, not just for Batman, but for all the characters.

Speaking on villains they haven’t used yet, I would like a horror-esque Batman movie with Professor Pig, because a mentally unstable man who loves classical music and turning people into “art” or whatever, should definitely warrant a movie and Batman being the detective in those murders. Also, Mr. Freeze deserves to have another live action to redeem what we got in Batman & Robin. As much as that movie sucked, at least they kept his motives for why he does the things he does. But Scarecrow definitely deserves a round two, this time, as the main focus and not just a backdrop character that goes bye to make room for the major villain. Still sore it won’t be Cillian Murphy again ‘cause y’know, it’s been years and yada yada. But, he deserves a round two, too.
I think a Ventriloquist movie in the same vein of The Joker movie would be incredible. Some meek timid man who just starts hearing voices and creates the alter ego of Scarface in the form of a dummy to deal with his weak beta nature and be more assertive. Then as Scarface he rises through the ranks of Gotham's mob with his viciousness and brutality.
They like to keep Batman movies in the PG-13 realm they’d have to really stretch it if they wanted to bring someone as gory as Professor pig. Listening to 10 mintues of incorrect information straight at the beginning. The system they talked about in Boeing 737 Max (MCAS) was an anti-stall system that fucked up. In some orientations (going up) the plane's own wings block air from reaching the control surfaces. The system they talked about is supposed to prevent this by pitching the plane down to regain control or even prevent the loss of control. The system sometimes malfunctioned because of a broken sensor thus causing the plane to start nose diving.

Kaya getting super sloshed at the end was hilarious until Andrew called him out on it and totally threw him off. He clearly got really embarrassed and was too drunk to refocus at that point. Remember, on the last episode he was visiting his American friends and they were all constantly drinking (and he was fine the whole episode). Since he just got back home, he's probably still used to that, so he's just still in party mode, I imagine. I've definitely been there. Combine that with the jet lag... Still, they have frequently made jokes throughout the show about Kaya being an alcoholic. I imagine Charlie and Andrew gave him some shit for this, so maybe this episode will cause him to slow down anyway, and that could be a good thing for him.

50:42 in the novel it’s said he built it himself and made it stronger and faster than normal cars. So it is more than a normal cars, (also in the early years of Batman he doesn’t really care for the Bruce part of his life, that’s why we never see him as Bruce Wayne)
And it would make sort of logical sense as well to not see Bruce Wayne that much either if your into year 2 of batman. I like to think about it in terms of something like a hobby, if you had just gotten into something, year 1, you're getting the hang of it, and by year 2, you're going to start developing skills in whatever you are doing, and are most likely going to start learning more and more about whatever hobby you're doing, and also likely to get fully invested into the hobby. I know that for myself, when I got into my own hobby and was at like at around year 2 of what I was into, I was *super* invested into the hobby, that I didn't really talk or think about anything else. So if anything, it makes total sense that Bruce would be fully invested into the Batman persona, and isn't taking much care and thought into the Bruce side of things.
When you don't play the games and understand nothing about the universe, and THEN try making a movie out of that franchise, you get the original DOOM movie with Dwayne Johnson Also, I'm pretty sure 343 has nothing to do with this show, they just promotes it I think, could be wrong though
I actually don't mind the Doom movie that much, it's definitely more reminiscent of Doom 3 than it is the originals. If that's not your cup of tea, I get that, but I still find it to be an enjoyable enough time. However, I will attest to the fact that Annihilation is fucking atrocious, and that the Halo TV show seems to be heading down a similar path.
343 has writers for the show to make sure things don't stray too far, and they do understand the universe and games it's just some showrunners didn't play them. There's nothing wrong with doing non canon timelines lolz, they just have to make sure it's just as interesting as the game universe.

I’m still mad how they pushed Scarecrow in the back for Ras in Begins. Such a good actor playing him annnd now we’ll likely never get him again back as the Scarecrow to do it justice.
Azrael is also really interesting as a character, would love to see a movie with him as a antihero type. He is basically a more frugal but, more effective version of Batman. Also his flame sword is cool.
So I’m not a huge Halo guy in terms of lore, so I understand them breaking a lot of rules makes it controversial. However I found myself enjoying it mildly. I mostly played 3, odst, reach and 4. Played mostly multiplayer though I did finish the story too. Definitely my biggest gripe was him taking off his helmet but in a way I enjoyed the show. It wasnt great or even good, but it definitely captured something that made me think “yeah, I’ll watch the next episode next week”. I hope they’re telling a story that’s good, something that makes the break from canon mean something. I’d give it like 5/10. Not good but not horrendous. Just kinda fine

For my case, I've never played Halo in my life (I did know the game) so I'd probably enjoy it and give it maybe an 8/10. Though, if I played Halo for years, I'd probably hate it and give it a 3 or 4/10.

I travelled alot with my family when I was between age 8 and 15. I thought I might be desensitized to flying, but now, in my 20s, I am more afraid of flying than ever after knowing more about reality of modern aircraft (and by the way we don't actually have a real scientific explanation for why planes fly other than the simple monkey explanation why snowmobiles stay on top of the snow) In the past 6 months I had flown, and eventually, now, made the decision to never fly again. I'd rather bike across than the continent than fly at this point.
The crash in 2015 was very close to where I am from. There was a school class in the crash from Germany and one girl of the class survived cuz she felt very sick and unsecure about the flight. That girl is the daughter of a good friend of my mother :/

I think people are used to the Nolan films and the Arkham Knight Batmobile. Several Batmobiles throughout the years were just elongated cars with a bat theme to it.

I agree with Andrew about Batman and his detective skills. So many previous Batman movies focus solely on the fact that Batman can beat your ass, but ignore how intelligent Batman actually is.

Kaya singlehandedly reviews a scene from a movie so horribly and so inaccurately that someone who read the synopsis on Wikipedia and IMDB without actually seeing the movie could review it better. Probably the most scuffed shit I've heard on the podcast in a LONG while, like holy shit. Listening to this segment made me physically cringe harder than I did 6 years ago when I went to watch the first Suicide Squad movie when it released in theaters.

Don't know of it's the editing or what, but Batman never caused the car crash, penguin did (not that starting a chase in a crowded freeway is wise since he could easily put a tracker on penguin's car).

Robert Patenson was a fantastic Batman.
His Bruce Wayne wasn't great, but no matter who played him, he was supposed to be more on the moody/depressed side, so it didn't really bother me(as long as the writing makes him more like his comic/past live action counterparts).
They've confirmed that the Joker scene was just to say that he exist in the world, but he's not being set-up to be in the sequel.
The director even said that he wants to do Mr. Freeze so when the sequel eventually happens he'll probably be the main villain(or at least secondary).
There are theories going around that Bane might be introduced as well because of the green adrenaline Batman uses and there is a story where Batman creates the serium and Bane steals it so there is a possibility for a new take on Bane which would be exciting to see

I watched this because as someone who doesn't really know Halo, I wanted to know if the show would be good. But I was quickly reminded why I don't watch these podcasts.

I would just like to say that the character of Bruce/batman considers Batman to be his true self and Bruce is the mask.
Yes! The JLA comic story Divided We Fall showed this amazingly along with some great dynamics of the other characters. Basically something splits the heroes from their secret identites. Batman is a rich well equipped well trained man but with no passion for fighting while Bruce is an angry moody guy that flips out in rage over minor criminals because Bruce was the man who suffered the tragedy of losing his parents and Batman was his way to seek justice for it.
It's a really well done story, not just for Batman, but for all the characters.
I mean yeah we get it. This is brought up any time the words bat and man are said in the same sentence. Superman is still better and Batman visited Epstein island over 20 times.

Speaking on villains they haven’t used yet, I would like a horror-esque Batman movie with Professor Pig, because a mentally unstable man who loves classical music and turning people into “art” or whatever, should definitely warrant a movie and Batman being the detective in those murders.
Also, Mr. Freeze deserves to have another live action to redeem what we got in Batman & Robin. As much as that movie sucked, at least they kept his motives for why he does the things he does.
But Scarecrow definitely deserves a round two, this time, as the main focus and not just a backdrop character that goes bye to make room for the major villain. Still sore it won’t be Cillian Murphy again ‘cause y’know, it’s been years and yada yada. But, he deserves a round two, too.

The system they talked about in Boeing 737 Max (MCAS) was an anti-stall system that fucked up.
In some orientations (going up) the plane's own wings block air from reaching the control surfaces. The system they talked about is supposed to prevent this by pitching the plane down to regain control or even prevent the loss of control.
The system sometimes malfunctioned because of a broken sensor thus causing the plane to start nose diving.
I feel bad for everyone who thought this show would be good. All 12 of them must be real sad right now.

Kaya getting super sloshed at the end was hilarious until Andrew called him out on it and totally threw him off. He clearly got really embarrassed and was too drunk to refocus at that point. Remember, on the last episode he was visiting his American friends and they were all constantly drinking (and he was fine the whole episode). Since he just got back home, he's probably still used to that, so he's just still in party mode, I imagine. I've definitely been there. Combine that with the jet lag...
Still, they have frequently made jokes throughout the show about Kaya being an alcoholic. I imagine Charlie and Andrew gave him some shit for this, so maybe this episode will cause him to slow down anyway, and that could be a good thing for him.

50:42 in the novel it’s said he built it himself and made it stronger and faster than normal cars. So it is more than a normal cars, (also in the early years of Batman he doesn’t really care for the Bruce part of his life, that’s why we never see him as Bruce Wayne)
And it would make sort of logical sense as well to not see Bruce Wayne that much either if your into year 2 of batman.
I like to think about it in terms of something like a hobby, if you had just gotten into something, year 1, you're getting the hang of it, and by year 2, you're going to start developing skills in whatever you are doing, and are most likely going to start learning more and more about whatever hobby you're doing, and also likely to get fully invested into the hobby.
I know that for myself, when I got into my own hobby and was at like at around year 2 of what I was into, I was *super* invested into the hobby, that I didn't really talk or think about anything else.
So if anything, it makes total sense that Bruce would be fully invested into the Batman persona, and isn't taking much care and thought into the Bruce side of things.
When you don't play the games and understand nothing about the universe, and THEN try making a movie out of that franchise, you get the original DOOM movie with Dwayne Johnson

I actually don't mind the Doom movie that much, it's definitely more reminiscent of Doom 3 than it is the originals. If that's not your cup of tea, I get that, but I still find it to be an enjoyable enough time.
However, I will attest to the fact that Annihilation is fucking atrocious, and that the Halo TV show seems to be heading down a similar path.
343 has writers for the show to make sure things don't stray too far, and they do understand the universe and games it's just some showrunners didn't play them. There's nothing wrong with doing non canon timelines lolz, they just have to make sure it's just as interesting as the game universe.

So I’m not a huge Halo guy in terms of lore, so I understand them breaking a lot of rules makes it controversial. However I found myself enjoying it mildly. I mostly played 3, odst, reach and 4. Played mostly multiplayer though I did finish the story too. Definitely my biggest gripe was him taking off his helmet but in a way I enjoyed the show. It wasnt great or even good, but it definitely captured something that made me think “yeah, I’ll watch the next episode next week”. I hope they’re telling a story that’s good, something that makes the break from canon mean something. I’d give it like 5/10. Not good but not horrendous. Just kinda fine
I mean.. they shifted the entire time line 30 years because they made Mk 6 armor which was introduced in 2552. Which apparently despite being sealed against hard vacuum and having life support.... he passes out from lack of oxygen right next to the 02 control for the whole ship.
For my case, I've never played Halo in my life (I did know the game) so I'd probably enjoy it and give it maybe an 8/10.
Though, if I played Halo for years, I'd probably hate it and give it a 3 or 4/10.

That's paraphrasing it a bit but it was the general sentiment. He might be afraid to fly but it's still a highly disrespectful thing to say.
Bonus points on him not understanding statistics. Frequency of event =! Probability of it happening. If a plane has 0.01% chance of crashing, another plane crashing doesn't make the probability of his doing it any lower.
I travelled alot with my family when I was between age 8 and 15. I thought I might be desensitized to flying, but now, in my 20s, I am more afraid of flying than ever after knowing more about reality of modern aircraft (and by the way we don't actually have a real scientific explanation for why planes fly other than the simple monkey explanation why snowmobiles stay on top of the snow)
In the past 6 months I had flown, and eventually, now, made the decision to never fly again.
I'd rather bike across than the continent than fly at this point.
The crash in 2015 was very close to where I am from. There was a school class in the crash from Germany and one girl of the class survived cuz she felt very sick and unsecure about the flight. That girl is the daughter of a good friend of my mother :/
