Over the Christian Science Monitor’s 116-year history, we’ve built a legacy of high-quality, distinctive journalism because we recognize that news is more than facts. It’s the story of how we are each trying to make our homes, communities, and nations better. What matters are the values and ideals that drive us, not just the who, what, when, and where of the news. Very important and timely exchange. Thanks to the Committee Chair for his reasoned and fairly balanced responses, the Monitor which sponsors this breakfast, and the journalists' who bring serious questions to the dialogue..
First time viewer; this is an excellent opportunity to drill down on foreign affairs via the expertise of Rep. McCaul.
For so many decades these civil breakfasts have been indispensable forums for thoughtful and probing discussions about topics of note with key players. They stand in contrast to the over-heated highly partisan and mean-spirited comments and discussions so commonly covered by the news media. It is through tempered conversations such as these to wich an informed citizenry can turn for enlightenment and insight which I know is a core mission of The Monitor. So glad to be able to listen (albeit with difficult-to-hear questions) to these online.
Thank you Linda Feldmann and Representative McCaul and the panel of questioners. This discussion was really informative with intelligent questions and intelligent answers. The answers gave me much more confidence in our government. Refreshing to be reminded of the capability of our congress and its integrous members. Thank you Monitor for monitoring and for sharing that monitoring with others so we could get real perspective on vital foreign policy issues from varying views and observations.
This was accessible, informative, sane, and thought-provoking. I like the format a lot (short talk by the guest followed by questions from host and other journalists). A small suggestion: find a way to mike the journalist questions, or else repeat them, to reduce listener strain and so that the answers make more sense. Thanks for this.
Excellent breakfast, shame the roaming microphone wasn’t working properly
A sane Republican. But Mike Johnson is just stalling -- he will never allow a vote on Ukraine aid.
