Just goes to show us the difference between a high end job and a normal job, that looks good enough versus we can make it better.

Is there a gasket or something that goes between the fender and bed side?

Yes. MID Fifty sells them... we later instaled them on this truck bed

I know you have been doing this for awhile but I would think a tight butt weld using a tig machine with silicon bronze filler wire ( softer and easer to grind and hammer out, plus takes less heat to weld ) is a better job then using those Eastwood spacer clamps. 😃 Of course you could but that wire in your mig machine as well. Like I said, a heck of a lot easier to work. Unless you are already using that wire. Then please except my apologies for jumping all over you.🤣
