Day 76: John Day - Mitchell 111,56 km
A couple of small small town after John Day and then the landscape turned awesome, canyon like. Big uphill today, going up to 4369 ft.
Not too hot but in the afternoon became very windy and totally headwind. Today I have tried to travel in “supported” mode, meaning that two of my big panniers (+ tents and sleeping bag) were transported by car. It is a totally different bike touring experience, which gives more space to the cycling and less to the adventure side of it. I did however carried two small panniers, with essential belonging (and the necessary for filming and shooting).
Mitchell is much smaller than expected but very pretty, very western feeling. Tonite I’m in a former church, now hostel. What a cool place, really magic! Oregon is magic.
