      In order to get the best results the head should be tilted in, and the spine strait with the mouth closed. The chin should be tucked and the forehead strait, this feels awkward but you will get used to it and it actually becomes very comfortable. You have to imagine that your forehead is smashing down on you maxilla bone which creates the force that is necessary to drive it foreward.
      As far as the tongue, it should be sucked on to the palate, especially the back of the palate. This will likely block the airway, but you need to hold it there for a few months until the airway adapts. I don't know how long this will take for you, but it was a few months for me. Just hold so that the airway just open enough to breath.
      The maxilla takes the most time to move foreward in my opinion, but it does move! So stay dedicated and you will eventually get results! Good luck, and hopefully this helps

And my cheeks appear a lot slimmer. At first I couldn't breathe very well. The longer I done it the more I done it without realizing. The easier it got.

My new tongue posture was causing me difficulty in breathing, use to yawn more, wake up tired in the morning, totally unaware of the causes until I saw this video. But till that time, airways obstruction caused me frequent urination. Airways obstruction made me a chest breather instead of abdomen breather, I was slowly changing my natural breathing pattern into shallow breathing which I was totally unaware of. So guys if u r mewing check ur breathing pattern. Good luck friends.

But even before watching your video, I’ve amazingly noticed how my body was constantly trying to adapt to mewing. I noticed my tongue pushing up to the point of obstruction then trying to release ever so slightly to find the right balance. Hopefully my airway will open up more soon! I’m still only 15 so I’m hoping for the best!

    • @Hiyjjbro
      @Hiyjjbro Před 2 lety +2

      It will don't worry. Your bones aren't even done growing naturally until 16, or later for many when puberty is done. My uncle grew taller in his 20s. So you could grow vertically and your maxilla could still widen on its own just from maintaining the correct posture 8 hours daily. Furthermore, your jaw will also genetically hypertrophy when you are 18-20. Trust me, there are adults doing this and seeing progress in 1-3 year timeframe. If you are consistent with Dr. Mew's myofunctional principles, you will probably see some significant results within the first few months of mewing and clearing your airways.

    • @_adamshaaban
      @_adamshaaban Před 2 lety +2

      @@Hiyjjbro wow thank you so much for this reply. You definitely gave me a great motivation boost. Ill try my best to make a habit of good oral and body posture, as well as not to stress about it too much since as you said, I’m still young, Also if you let it consume you it will be overwhelming and harder to keep consistent because of the constant overthinking and doubt. So I’m also planning to forget about mewing once it’s a subconscious habit, and let time do its wonders.

I find this is helping give strength to the posterior of the tongue (to raise)

My cheeks are more lifted and defined, double chin is gone, lips look fuller and my eyes look more 'awake'. It's a great feeling knowing that with time, my face is just going to look better. It's still early in my mewing journey, but people are always telling me I look better and ask if I've lost weight or 'done something'. Just educate yourself well on this topic and apply daily with discipline. You're going to see results.

    I've been mewing seriously for 4 days now and I've learned so much. I was amazed when I put my body and tongue in good posture and felt my tongue rest naturally above my neck. I was able to relax everything and feel my tongue support the roof of my mouth mostly by itself. I've explored my soft palate and figured out how to mew fairly well.
    Is it just me, or do other mewers feel new sensations in their maxilla when mewing correctly? I think I feel my maxilla being stimulated.
    My biggest problem now is having to keep from pushing my tongue into my front teeth, refraining from clenching my jaw, and keeping the posterior third of my palate up.
    I won't say that I see any change in my looks, but I do think that having a good posture has had an effect on my ability to sing. When I have good neck and tongue posture, I'm able to sing with less strain in the upper registers. Before, it's been a lot harder to sing high notes (a problem I think developed ever since I had the habit of bad tongue posture for long enough years ago since when I was a kid).
    I'd always felt that I was going to have to accept having such round cheeks with no nice jaw or cheek bones and now I know I won't.
    Thank you so much, Dr. Mew, for sharing these very helpful findings with us people who are trying to be the best versions of ourselves!

      @gavinmccune93 Před 3 lety

      @@verd0k147 so, I had gotten to a point where my cheek bones were defined, but I didn't have much development in my jaw muscles. I've learned that for me and my body, I need to go through the stimulation of doing exercise while having the good posture to get results. It also took more time for my body to "settle in" to the slowly developing form.
      It's amazing because I've been actually stimulating new muscles in my face that I'd never felt before. I now know that people with good jawlines and cheek bones feel a lot of muscles move in their face.
      Covid hit shortly after I figured this out. I'm still learning, but this information was needed in order for me to figure out how to do all of this.

    One more thing i have observed when i keep my posterior tongue on the roof apart from improving my voice is my chest feels its getting broader and the whole body gets straight up( like correcting the improper posture)..
    Chest getting broader is something i definitely feel it everytime i put a force in the posterior 3rd.

      I heared that mouthbreathing also affects ribcage-size since narrower airways let less air trough ->less diaphram-activity. I was and still am sceptic about that since it doesn't make sence to me bc if your airways get narrower you either breathe more or change your way of breathing (through mouth). But what you say is interresting

    To do that you must elevate and contact the hyoid bone that push up the entire tongue from the back.
    This Is normal in swallowing pattern ...when you dont swallow ...and then swallow you literally feel no differences on the palate...beacuse It Is already plastered.
    This create a very tight skin under the chin and around the neck...making the jaw more defined and Sharp.

      Wetpig I know it because at the time of birth I didn't had any head abnormalities like plagiocephaly ,etc. and facial asymmetries thanks to photographs of different angles of mine ... in fact my face was used to be ideal like really ideal with perfect nose perfect cheekbones perfect face cut ... I remember since I started playing basketball I started to breath through my mouth and started to go out of city for tournaments and stuff and due to that I adopted allergies from dust and due to the allergies(according to doctors) I got deviated nasal septum and lives with it for like 4 years and during this 4 years this dns made my nose crooked too and as my nose started to shift towards left it took my whole face with it... after 4 years I got septoplasty surgery (which is non-plastic) to straighten my dns but outer nose remains the same and now my whole face is fucked

    I'm doing this all day, but how do you do this in your sleep? Tongue tends to return to lower half of the mouth.

    Is anybody else having problems with extreme production of saliva while mewing? I have to swallow every few seconds and don't know if I'm doing something wrong..

      Its a good thing because you swallow more. Swallowing is gonna speed up your mewing process cuz when u swallow, the tongue puting upward force on maxilla

    I've been trying to mew but i really don't know if I'm doing it right or not, it is really hard to understand how to do it probably because we all have different needs and a different mouth. I really need a professional animated video.

    Wow this just made me realise.. I haven’t been mewing for the past 6 months.. I have been a pussy and not put in enough effort with constant pressure and force. That’s why the palette is never expanding enough so I can breathe! I feel super glad but at the same time I’m pissed. Thank you Mew.
