- Trying out my new medieval psaltery from the illuminations of the CSM 290
Made by JRV Luthier.
The Psaltery is strung with a tunable drone at the bass and the diatonic scale at mid and treble range.
I wanted to explore the possibility of playing the instrument like in the Illumination of the Cantiga where the musician is placing his left hand at the edge of the instrument, and with his right one playing the mid and higher strings.
I wonder if the placing of the left hand is just for holding the instrument or maybe he is actually playing some bass or drone notes with his fingers !
After thinking about this idea I talked with Jrv Luthier, and discuss this idea of having this bass drone notes at the bass strings to be played with left hand fingers!
So here is the result!
The instrument is new, and strung two days ago..so still long way to go! but here is first impression of it!

Esto es como el psaltery tocaba en espana , italia y grecia no como los tocan los ingleses en diferente trono y ritmo

Gracias, tienes que buscar luthiers que reproduzcan copias de instrumentos medievales..
Gracias por tanta música. He leído (no sin preocupación) que CZcams ha eliminado el otro canal... Lamentable. Además con qué razón? Si eran videos propios y originales (cuando hay tanto video que la gente publica tomado de otros medios...).
Gracias Germán, Cierto, hace tiempo lo eliminaron, cuando youtube y google se unieron, Parece ser que como tenía mi cuenta asociada a hotmail sin razón alguna casi me obligaban a usar gmail.. y un día veo que desapareció mi otro canal.. Una faena, pero bueno hay que seguir!. Ahora tras los años ya se ve la "decadencia" y youtube vendido donde sacan a la luz lo comercial y lo superfluo..en vez de ser un canal donde predomine el verdadero arte. Por su puesto que hay de todo, pero youtube está vendido y no es lo que era!, Que le vamos a hacer! allá ellos! ;)
@@vicenteharpantiqua Es cierto lo que dices Vicente. Luego de siete años desde mi mensaje ya vemos a lo que hemos llegado. Pero de todas formas es bueno seguir manteniendo y generando espacios, para que aquellos que sepan buscar entre lo comercial y lo superfluo puedan encontrar algo más profundo. Por eso gracias por estar presente aquí, aunque youtube nos desilusione veces... (yo también pasé por distintas etapas en mi sentimiento hacia este sitio... pero reincido y a mi canal original sumé uno más centrado en el arpa... ) Saludos desde Buenos Aires
