    I appreciate to see a Tintin "Franco-Belge" comic-book fan in a US Comics part :-)
    I like your videos because I success to understand you even if my English is not perfect, and you propose a really interesting not common comic book: foreign comic-book.
    Tintin is our cult comic, it's too bad that you don't read French, the CAPITAINE HADDOCK dialogue are the must :-)
    Bonne continuation !

    Hello, I want to say something please don't mind... "Tintin in the Land of the Soviets" has its own coloured version. It was actually done by Moulinsart, although Casterman did an individual coloured version of it. Casterman's version is not very popular and there is only French version of it while there are English and French coloured versions done by Moulinsart and are also probably available in other languages as well.

    • @ftloc
      @ftloc  Před 5 lety +1

      Yes, the first nine adventures were originally published in black and white. As Herge's style evolved, the earliest books were later redrawn (often by collaborators under Herge's supervision as part of his Studio) and shortened and coloured. The books also switched to a 64 page format, so the earlier ones were also 'shortened' in different ways. All in all, they represent quite striking variations on the more popular and common editions.

As for what else I read, I generally read prose fiction and nonfiction as well. I don't think so, but I don't know a lot about rarity and collectability outside of anecdotal experience. It is available in both black and white and colour editions, and since there was no redrawing of the original pages like there was for many others, a facsimile would not really be that different from what we have, I would think?

    Why is everything regarding Tintin so underrated?

    • @ftloc

      Is it? I've always found it to be incredibly popular and beloved, and a global phenomenon. Even by my own tiny channel standards, no other videos of mine get the kind of attention that my Tintin videos do 😋

      No I want it like Marvel. As I don't like Marvel. The only favourites are Tintin and Star Wars.

      Possibly because Franco-Belgian comics, especially Tintin, never made it big in American comic circles, and the latter dominated the global comic scene in many ways?
