Sounds good....I applaud you for sticking with the 2v after all this
Nice!! I’ve been watching your videos all night!! Just a little advice, it’s good to fluctuate rpms once you get good oil pressure. It’s helps the piston expand and allows the rings to set properly. Letting the engine sit at idle with new rings and bored sleeves, creates a strong vacuum and will allow oil to make its way past the rings which is okay, but reduces friction and reducing ring setting. Which is why motor oil is used to Increase friction and not synthetic. Fluctuating rpms allows the piston to expand and contract to allow the rings to properly set. Awesome car. I built a 4.6 and they love to burn sleeves. They are very picky on piston to cylinder clearance and buy if you’re pushing a lot of boost, it’s something you can’t get away from. Even coated pistons expand some.
Nice man. Youre going to break your record this year. Thanks for keeping the 2v. Show the world the 2vs get down too
Andrew, this is the guy who delivered to you today and had the pleasure of viewing your car and meeting your friend Serg and your wife... Very nice people and this car is truly amazing folks and it’s clean enough to eat off it
Json G- I appreciate it man. Hopefully get to meet up some time and check out your car.
Andrew Lavender we can do that
Im here for the cam degree class lol
it's nice to see how well you take care of your car. thank's for explaining everything in such deatils. it's really cool
Back in the game baby!!
You must have the coolest neighbors ever. Either that or they all have open header hot rods of their own, lol. I had between 3 and 400 ft from every one of my neighbors where I used to live. My car had full exhaust with off-road pipe. Turbo sbf 302. I would take it into work sometimes. Which meant I left around 6:20 in the morning. One of my neighbors was my brother-in-law he lived the farthest. I would start the car with the garage door closed, he still heard it in his house with all the windows closed, lol. I can only imagine your car when you started it at night😂.
Easy Come Easy Go they are pretty cool but a few do hate my car lol
Damn you make it look easy.
Nice to see that mustang running again.
I'm watching this while tearing down my first ever 4.6lt Romeo block
Damn don’t I wish you lived closer to Midland Tx. I would use you to help with my 4v mod build.
Average Brothers Review stayed a night in Midland on the way to Yuma a few years ago. About 16 hours from me
Andrew Lavender If you ever pass through again hit me up. We have the penwell tracks here. Would be awesome to see your 2V run there.
17:52 “We’ll be able to put on the oil pan and the pickup tube... not in that order.” Lmfaoo
i wish someday ill have a build like yours
Glad to see you getting it back together.
Sounds great man🤩👍
Cant wait to see it run
Man I wish I had your knowledge putting motors/engines together that quickly, Just knowing if something went wrong you can order whatever to fix and it put it back together in your own garage. I know it comes with time and trial and error but being 20 years old I look forward to being able to do that stuff.
Can't wait to get my my built 5.3 in my truck and make some jam, just gotta yank the stock 4.8 out that finally gave out at 24lbs of boost and Chinese studs lol
Seth Wright yeah learned everything myself and most of what I learned was from tearing stuff up lol.
my favorite 2v build. great to see her run again !
I love this car, I wish I had the knowledge to build mine
Research, research, research.
Hell yeah man. Glad to see you finally having some luck brother! I'm super happy for ya man! Now let's see some successful passes! 💪😁
Recently a yard by me scrapped 2 mark viii with the engines still in them! Rip teskid blocks what a shame
LynnTwinCustom$ 😢
I tried to get them but they were already stacked on a pile of cars to crush and they didn’t want to mess with it. A lot of places scrap another mans treasures oh well!
Sounds like a beast! Congrats on finally a good build and good machine shop! Time to put down some numbers.
I have notching from mmr for 2v high lift cams trick flow and yours look a lot different
Dude if you are building engines like this the get a pilot bearing puller. The $25 harbor freight one works on your are and is worth the money.
also ditch that FMS bearing get a 6003rs. It allows for more play.
Awesome! Cant wait to see you making passes again!
Damn nice video I like it a lot.
Rewatching this now Wow the internet ruined the WAP block name 🤣🤣
well done andrew can not wait for the next video
Actually it's not marks from the rings being gapped it's from a dial gauge
Awesome man, this one sounds better than the big bore one! Best of luck!
I'm so glad to see you have things working out for you again.
Good luck to you brother
Looking good Andrew!!
Fantastic! I'm so happy for ya bro!
That thing is so sic! Im ready to see the first pull.
So pumped to see it back up and running man!! Congrats!
Awesome to see it together again. I hope your racing season is rewarded for your work in the off season
It's ALIVE !!! Finally... Good job bro !
Hell yeah! Your back together buddy!!!
Glad to finally see this thing run again man! After all the issues you had to overcome. Sounds good.
Nice man! I saw your guys killing it at SCT this weekend! The blue Cobra was moving.. he won a class and was in a final for the other!! Sergio made some good hits too!
Your car sounds awesome man. Glad you got it fixed up again. I can’t wait to see how fast you go now.
What’s the next event you’ll take the Stang to this year?
This was worth the wait. Excellent. Best of luck.
finally its alive. have you ever thought of the 5.4 aluminum block.
albert glenn to expensive for me lol
I hope you went to a different machine shop this time.
Happy for you Andrew. Looking forward to the track videos of this car. Car sounds awesome btw 🍻
Damn you can do this process blindfolded lol. Sounds good man.
Lookin good and sounding even better glad shes back togther again man
Great job brother, this helps give me the confidence to do this before my turbo finally arrives in another 2 months lol. i do have a question i hope you can help me with but i'm actually putting mine in a 3v is there any significant difference in the installation as your 2v besides some torque specs.
It’s alive!!
I'm sure you likely already know, but King offers a 360 degree full faced #5 thrust bearing. With using a th400 with high converter charge pressure I was eating the stock type up often. I went to the full face ones from king and restricted the feed to the converter along with a regulator in the bottom cooler line and I have had zero thrust issues in my teksid build since. Glad you finally found a good machine shop, cannot wait for some killer numbers.
ModMotorMayhem did that in my first teksid build then just tried the normal thrust in the last build and worked fine. Converter charge pressure is definitely the deal breaker for the thrust on these engines. The pump in my trans has a restrictior to lower charge pressure.
I bought a set of probe I-Beam rods and ARP2000s for my 3v build. I still need pistons and wanted to ask you a question or two about the on3 kit. Hope all is well.
Great channel!
I would really like to pick your brain on a couple things. I have an 01 F150 I bought new, truck has 304,681 miles on the all original 4.6l 2 valve but the truck is flawlessly maintained. It has a lot of interior, exterior upgrades, and at this time runs great. It uses about a quart of oil between oil changes, meanwhile I want to start accumulating parts for a 4.6 build.
What type of things would I need? Not wanting nothing close to what your pushing but 400 to 500 hp? What type block, crank, heads, cams etc?
Thanks in advance.
Congrats my friend....watched all the adds so you can keep on providing us good content. With perseverance comes triumph and you proved that this season!! The journey I to 7s isnt over but ur damn sure alot closer! Keep ridin bro!!!
Joseph Ware thanks brother
@@andrewlavender08 I'm super excited!! Couldnt be happier for you tho bro
Joseph Ware I really appreciate it. I have been on struggle street the last 8 months
Love that 2v bad ass👍
Congrats man she sounds healthy! Now you can finally get some racing in this year.
Wait, I thought the thrust bearing for #5 went on the inside rather than the outside of the cradle? At least that's what ford performance told me so Im lost haha.
Basshead19 I don’t know who you are talking to a “ford performance” but they are wrong. The thrust washer goes on the back side of the #5 journal since that side sees the most thrust.
Glad to see her purring again and im looking forward to the cam degree video. Good job man
Good to see it breathing fire again brutha!! 💪😤
Hell yea! nice work mustang sounded awsome! cant wait to see make a pass..!
Looking good Andy, I can see y'all back runnin' mid 8's in a week or two.
I think he's gonna be a little quicker with this new setup....Close to 7s if not in the high 7s....
Yes sir it wont be long now. Can't wait to see it make a few test passes !
Wont you just listen too it 🎶
That's so awesome dude
Just watched the whole video lol, super happy for you hope to see it making some good passes
Hey Andrew, I'm not very tech savvy but I have a channel on here and I left you a msg in FB but I don't do FB much at all. I know I missed that last set of rods you sold but I need a good set terribly bad. If something happens please hit me up. Thanks buddy.
hell yeah 👍🏻👍🏻
Let’s go!
I feel for you to be back in your car man!!
Those are some sexy ass pistons. Is that weird?
OH HELL YEAHHHH !!!!
how do you like your molnar rods? Thinking about a set for my 03 cobra that I am doing a turbo build with.
Cant wait to be able to build me a engine. Nothing on this level tho.
Sounds like she’s ready!!!!
Hey man what up! Great vid dude. You and your buddy make a really good team. Y'all work together like ya done it a couple times before👍 Sounds badass bro. Wish I was your neighbor lol! Got an 02. All stock but fat tires n just cats get a regular look every time 😎 ✌
Do you still habe that old cobra crank and if so is it for sale
Did you add a groove to allow extra oil to your mains?
Great work! Glad to see it back up and running. Which intake manifold gaskets do you run OEM Ford, or Felpro?
Boosted04GT felpro
Oh shit the read outs/screen...what is that? Give us some info if you hadn’t already. That looks gooooooood. Subscribed** lol
Stop !! Why do u use a small head gasket bore (3.551) for a bigger piston bore (3.561)??
Mohd LX bore opening on the gasket is 3.63
@@andrewlavender08 www.summitracing.com/parts/fel-26222pt/
Am I read that correctly ?
Mohd LX idk why it’s labeled like that but it measures 3.63”
Which ring compressor do you use? I need one asap.
Is this a closed deck?
You should race Cleetus McFarland against his Corvette he calls Ruby. 😁👍
This the 2v would get slaughtered
Forgive my lack of knowledge but what causes all that smoke to come up from the engine
brucehawk09 oil burning off. You always have oil on the exhaust and other hot parts. Even if you hand are always clean, you still have oils in your skin so oil burn off is always gonna happen
brucehawk09 all the oil from handling the headers with dirty hands is burning off
hey what's up man i have a question. So I got a 96 mustang gt with eagle rotating assembly. I bought the car with the rotating assembly but don't know what exact compression it has to add boost? Also the guy said he had to run 93 octane due to pinging. Could that be because of the internals or a tune he put on the car? I only have 91 octane where I live. I know its forged for sure because I used a boreoscope camera in the oil pan. I got npi intake but don't know if I have npi heads or not. I want to run vortech What would you suggest? My end goal is 500rwhp
Do you use the same arp bolts from previous build or do you use new? I’m wondering since I purchased a mmr stroker and it has a 8.5 compression and I don’t want it that low so I bought some 9:0 pistons from them and I’m going to rebalance just to be on safe side. Got the engine for 2500 usd sealed in crate and wrapped in mmr plastic from a auction on eBay 7800usd valve engine for 2500
Yeah they are safe to re use as long as they are not stretched
Andrew Lavender ok, thanks! You think I need to rebalance? If I’m just changing to a new piston? Same brand and weight from what Greg at mmr said
If they are the same weight then no need to re balance.
Again? Time for a 5.3 LS
Good to finally see the white girl get put back together ! Glad you stuck with the 2v and persisted through the nightmare . Good luck to the family and you .
What motor part is that crank from and what year if you don't mind me asking
Rafael Sandoval not sure. I think it’s from either a cobra or Mach 1
I am about to turbo my new edge cobra. Are those custom air intake pipes or did you buy them and what size inner cooler is that or did it come in a kit.
Look back in his older videos and he will answer your questions bro
How much u charge to build a motor
Ford Forever depends on what you want done and need to be local to me
Call this a dumb question, but these guys at the machine shop are doing the dimensions in metric right? I've heard so many horror stories about people rebuilding mod motors because they measured everything in inches. The dimensions are very simple and very exact in metric. In standard they will never be perfectly accurate.
I measure everything in standard. I would consider tolerances of .0001 to be pretty accurate.
@@andrewlavender08 For you as the assemblyman I wouldn't argue with that, my point is that mod motors are measured from the factory in mm. By the same proportion .0001in = 0.000004 (not a numerical equation but a level of precision comparing the two systems) and that's rounding up. It would surprise me if the prior machine shop or any for that matter went that accurate. Summit racing had a calculator on their page for static compression ratio. I used the 4.6 (non PI) as an example to see how accurate it was. Using all of the correct specifications from a Haynes manual in std, I plugged them in and got basically the wrong number. I switched the calculator over to metric and found another page that had all of the same info in mm. After running it through voila, a perfect 9.3:1. Big surprise, if you took the Haynes STD numbers and manually converted them to metric, they weren't as accurate as the actual factory specs. Same thing with displacement. The 4.6 is exactly 4600.(82 iirc) cc or 4.6L. I have gone out as far as 6 significant figures and never was able to get this number in Std. The 90.2mm bore and 90mm stroke and only those will give you that on a displacement calculation.
Hahahahaha! For the Love of Toast! Seriously. O_o Learn something new every day! :D
For your power level you should have took the 100lb hit and run an iron block instead of the wap block .. the teksid block is the best block other then the new very expensive ford motorsport block ,,also you should double check the ring gaps for piece of mind since you are using a new machine shop. the WAP block hands down is the weakest of ALL modular engine blocks .. the people that support them are simply the people who were not aware until after their motor was built and are in denial
Griffon 327 have you personally seen a WAP block fail? I’ll wait. Ring gaps where checked as well, just because it isn’t in a 30 minute video doesn’t mean it wasn’t checked.....
@@andrewlavender08 Your going to run the WAP block regardless of anyone saying nay and will be in denial up to the moment it fails and possibly blame the failure on everything and anything other then the block choice. I imagine when they first came out people were trying to do the same things they did with the teskid blocks and found out the hard way they simply are not as well made. awaiting your hindsight video were you look back and remember someone said maybe an iron block was a better option. also as side note had 3 mark 7 engine for less then $900 and still have 2 of them
Griffon 327 like I said show me an actual wap block failure. I know several people pushing wap blocks over 1000hp with no issues. Unlike you I base my facts off real world experience and not something I read on the internet.
@@andrewlavender08 simply waiting for your experience with the wap block I have nothing invested other then the fact that I can simply say you were given the info and chose to go with the weakest block available from ford . waiting for the video of it holding together under full power. dont run it at less then its full potential to prove me wrong as your building it to race and not to go slower then before after all. you could have got an iron block for free
and just for clarification there is nothing wrong with a wap block for hp levels 700 and under its simply that you plan to go far north of those levels
Bad ass🔥ready for some of that White girl content 👌👍
