Imo Mamamoo operates the hardest hitting emotional wrecking ball in kpop. Eventually I discovered other amazing Korean artists and even grew to enjoy some of the music that had initially turned me off as my ears and mind adjusted to the new sounds and musical concepts in kpop, esp after I realized that it's a multi-disciplinary art form encompassing music, dance, video and fashion. The chrono approach to albums and title tracks is a fine way to go as long as you don't mind dedicating months to Mamamoo. They've got 15 Korean albums and a few Japanese albums as a full group and about a dozen solo and subunit albums and that's just part of what they do. Add in OST songs for kdramas & films, CF songs, collabs and features with other artists, and dozens of covers and you've probably got 400+ songs to look forward to. And since Mamamoo is best when they're live you'll want to sample some of the hundreds of hours of live performances available on yt such as their mind-blowing 4+ hour long 4 Seasons F/W concert in 2019. Along the way you're going to want to check out what I call their parallel career as an old school mainstream vocal group on the singing competition tv show Immortal Songs 2. The competitors on Immortal Songs cover classic (immortal) songs, often as a tribute to an older artist who is the featured guest. Mamamoo appeared on Immortal Songs 14 times between 2015-19 and Solar later appeared as a soloist. MMM was the first girl group to win an Immortal Songs episode and I think they're still the only idol group who've won 3 episodes. All are spectacular, must see & hear vocal showcases but my favorites are Delilah, the Korean version of the Tom Jones hit from the 60's, and Backwoods, which is the first MMM song that made me cry. After a few more Immortal Songs ballads where Solar triggered my tear glands I was forced to revise my initial impression that she was a ditsy airhead with pipes and acknowledge her as my bias. I thought the days when a pop singer could make me cry were long past but my response to Solar's voice has gotten so Pavlovian that she can produce tears just by bending a note in the most unlikely songs. Sometime soon I recommend you watch the Immortal Songs Medley as an intro to their performances on Immortal Songs 2 and their absolute command of the stage and the audience. Mamamoo has a mature singing voice, they are using they real voice like they dont add effects on it or fake their unique tones. @@SylverReacts A small note that someone mentioned: apparently Dingo Voice was originally for indie/less mainstream singers back before Mamamoo guested there (with Killing Verse as the platform for rappers), but after Mamamoo's episode, they revamped it to feature idols/more pop or well-known artists instead while merging the original format into Killing Verse or another(?). Apparently the non-idol guests can still be viewed on the dingo channel, I think. Just to clarify that Dingo Voice existed before Mamamoo's guesting. I miss you gets me every time, even though we don’t speak the same language they make you FEEL the song and all the emotion that goes into the words and the cherry on the cake is that that is their pure live vocals every time. Hwasa was even dealing with a cold when they did this and she still sounds like that. You can tell how much fun they were having. They were not being to serious. I Miss You is such an amazing song.. the high notes.. Solar just goes. Queendom “I miss you” is another level. Decalcomanie is one of my favorites.. and the Queendom version was even added to The Best album. Solar’s power surprises many. Their harmony is amazing too. Mamamoo and Dreamcatcher- two girl groups that are so much better live.. and they already sound amazing in studio. I need Dreamcatcher to be invited to Killing Voice. When they perform, you will notice Solar will mouth the lyrics for the entire song, she know her parts and the member parts. And when doing songs accapella or something like this she will make the music sounds.

Yup, it devasted me also, not afraid to admit it. The performance of that song on Queendom is totally going to annihilate you. Anyway this performance is just sample of their vast catalogue of songs. All their ballads are devastating e.g. where are we now, I love you too, Paint Me just to name a couple of songs. A known fact about this Killing Voice by Mamamoo, Hwasa was sick here hence the raspy vocals on her but she still slayed it like the Queen she is. Give props to Moonbyul not only because of her rapping but also keeping the harmonies and the low rhythm tight. Your journey of discovery has just begun, brother. G-Idle and Big Mama did excellent Killing Voice show as well. Dreamcatcher has not done it yet but they did It's Live show. That's an awesome performance too.
Yeah Hwasa sounds fantastic even though she’s a little sick here. Moonbyul’s raps and harmonies are just fire, Wheein was flipping between belting and a gorgeous head voice like it was nothing and solar just murders with power. I loved the it’s live stuff from Dreamcatcher! I had to filter it because genie was really strict on copyright, but still. I can’t wait to hear more Mamamoo 😊🤘
And... that's why I called them an All-Star team playing in the regular season. As impressed as people are with this performance, for Mamamoo this was just Tuesday. The only bad part of the whole video is the light auto-tune the producers put over their live vocals, even though Mamamoo are the last people in the world that need auto-tune. It's designed to work with solid tones so the rasp in Hwasa's voice scrambled the software trying to level her out and made her rasp sound tinny at times. That's Mamamoo... auto-tune makes them sound worse.

Wow, I just back from mamamoo+ concert held in Singapore. For your info, their concert must seen once in a lifetime, their live performances, no kidding. I think you will need a box of tissue for I love too (song where Solar, byul and hwasa) wrote for their fans of the message of never letting go, turn on the caption for the meaning. And must act I Miss you from queendom, rap verse, byul had rewrote for the fans. Prepare the tissue, sure will tear up for the both song. A group which can make you laugh and cry at the same times. Weekly idol for mamamoo is chaos, as they are the beagles idol, you will need a tissue box as well, you will laugh until tear roll down. Haha
I so want to see them live, like they're right behind Dreamcatcher on groups that I NEED to see live now. Also I love Weekly Idol so we're definitely going to watch some of those lol
So, I found this right after it was released 3 years ago. I still get the same reaction to "I Miss You" watching this video. :) Their Queendom performance of "I Miss You" is the best version, IMO. There's a version that shows their competitors reactions. The whole Queendom is worth watching. I went into it as a MMM fan. I was familiar with G-Idle because of their involvement with K/DA (League of Legends character K-pop group). The other groups were clearly not to my taste (Lovlies, Oh My Girl). Afterwards I had a pretty healthy appreciation for all of the competitors. Be cautious though MNET is known for hitting people with copyright strikes.
Yeah I definitely want to do the full show of Queendom, it might end up on Patreon and edited for CZcams for the performances, but I’m still doing some digging on what’s ok for copyright and what’s not for Queendom and Immortal Songs

I must have heard 'i miss you' hundreds of times. Hundreds of times the killing voice version as well as live version, queendom version etc. Every time, every single time, I end needed tissues, lots of tissues. Here's something to blow your mind : 'i miss you' is a b-side from their early days. If you can listen to it and not 'feel' it, you are broken If you listen to it and not be amazed about their sound, you must be deaf. It is *the* song that cemented me not just liking them but adoring them for their talent.

Another believe it or not fact: Hwasa had a slight cold that day; if you strain your ears, you can hear the parts where she was slightly below her usual level. The I Miss You performance at Queendom was show-stopping and competition-crushing.

mamamoo is up with the best of the best vocally told they had to be to succeed. Everything they do is great to unbelievable, especially live. They are also very very good at making you feel the Emotions they want you to feel. If you want to tear up more, get kleenex and watch the I Love too (never letting go) live Moosical concert, just typing the title is tearing me up. There is a new song Save Me, which is just Moonbyul and Solar but it will do it, Paint Me might as will Where are we now. Hello Mama will make anyone who has a mother cry, And Solar's Solar emotion project, those songs are covers but most of them will leave you in tears for a variety of reasons. The I Miss You version you want is the Queendom performance. After all these songs of course everything else is awesome also, They range across all genres from big band and Jazz, reggaeton, rock, R&B and etc, Live performances are a must see and even their MVs are extremely well produced and a must see because most are depicting an era like the 1930s or a story or a comedy.

It's designed to work with solid tones so the rasp in Hwasa's voice scrambled the software trying to level her out and made her rasp sound tinny at times. That's Mamamoo... auto-tune makes them sound worse.

Yups.. originally Dingo release Killing something for rapper if I'm not mistaken. Then they want to tried with singers/groups and Mamamoo was chosen to be the first. Maybe other Moomoos can help me explaining more 😄😄

@@SylverReacts There was only Killing Verse initially, and Solar was really hoping to get on it but was sadly disappointed when she was told it was only for rappers. She asked the Dingo pd or one of the bosses, and shortly after, Dingo channel invited MAMAMOO to be their first artist to release Killing Voice.
They even did a LIVE streaming (the original, non edited version can still be found online), and they even did a pre/post interview where Moonbyul was the host and the girls chilled and they had fun there. :D

Wow, I just back from mamamoo+ concert held in Singapore. For your info, their concert must seen once in a lifetime, their live performances, no kidding. I think you will need a box of tissue for I love too (song where Solar, byul and hwasa) wrote for their fans of the message of never letting go, turn on the caption for the meaning. And must act I Miss you from queendom, rap verse, byul had rewrote for the fans. Prepare the tissue, sure will tear up for the both song. A group which can make you laugh and cry at the same times. Weekly idol for mamamoo is chaos, as they are the beagles idol, you will need a tissue box as well, you will laugh until tear roll down. Haha
I so want to see them live, like they're right behind Dreamcatcher on groups that I NEED to see live now. Also I love Weekly Idol so we're definitely going to watch some of those lol
So, I found this right after it was released 3 years ago. I still get the same reaction to "I Miss You" watching this video. :) Their Queendom performance of "I Miss You" is the best version, IMO. There's a version that shows their competitors reactions. The whole Queendom is worth watching. I went into it as a MMM fan. I was familiar with G-Idle because of their involvement with K/DA (League of Legends character K-pop group). The other groups were clearly not to my taste (Lovlies, Oh My Girl). Afterwards I had a pretty healthy appreciation for all of the competitors. Be cautious though MNET is known for hitting people with copyright strikes.
Yeah I definitely want to do the full show of Queendom, it might end up on Patreon and edited for CZcams for the performances, but I’m still doing some digging on what’s ok for copyright and what’s not for Queendom and Immortal Songs

mamamoo is up with the best of the best vocally told they had to be to succeed. Everything they do is great to unbelievable, especially live. They are also very very good at making you feel the Emotions they want you to feel. If you want to tear up more, get kleenex and watch the I Love too (never letting go) live Moosical concert, just typing the title is tearing me up. There is a new song Save Me, which is just Moonbyul and Solar but it will do it, Paint Me might as will Where are we now. Hello Mama will make anyone who has a mother cry, And Solar's Solar emotion project, those songs are covers but most of them will leave you in tears for a variety of reasons. The I Miss You version you want is the Queendom performance. After all these songs of course everything else is awesome also, They range across all genres from big band and Jazz, reggaeton, rock, R&B and etc, Live performances are a must see and even their MVs are extremely well produced and a must see because most are depicting an era like the 1930s or a story or a comedy.
