In some books I read that Raziya was not the first choice of Iltutmish. Her another brother Nasiruddin(who established mamluk rule in Bengal) was the first choice. But in 1229 in perished. So Iltutmish had to choose Riziya. But there is no denial that she was raised very progressively. Giyasuddin Balban ruthlessly ended the nobility which ultimately led to the rise of the dynamic Khiljis.

Loved the video, but feel the story progression went too quickly from her battles to win her throne straight to her battles losing it, with the 4 years she ruled being skipped over. Tamar even had a understanding with Saladin, there are letters written between Saladin and Tamara, acknowledging each other and dividing influence over their own territories. But most interesting is the story of Tamar, how she come to power after her father king David, how nobels wanted her gone but she eliminated them, divorced russian prince, a drunk one and remarried with Alan prince, Soslan.. All that period is considered as golden age in Georgian history. Not to mention some extraordinary battles done during that period..

It's like a huge bell usually at the top of the Palace gates and it can be heard from within the Palace. Many rulers carried on using this way of justice for their people but it was mainly used when only the ruler could help them. They had other justice systems in place but sometimes they were not fair so the people ring the bell and the guards inform the sultan/King and then they are invited to the Royal Court.

Conscription rarely happened to that extent in the past, only a fraction of the population was ever recruited in the army.
Mass conscription became common only in the 18th and 19th centuries. And while women had *always* played an important role in the society, it was only after the 2 world wars that people began to realise the facts you've mentioned about women's role in society.
The cruel irony is that we needed the 2 bloodiest wars in history to emancipate *half* of the entire population.

The name "Iltutmish" literally means "he who established the kingdom" in Turkish. "İL TUTMUŞ" GHURID DYNASTY was also a pure Turkish entity with Turkish speaking population, Turkish speaking army, Turkish speaking founders and rulers. Turks, throughout history, have always been mortal foes against each other when the issue is who will rule over whom. The others around have always taken advantage of this situation by rewriting a false history, changing and alienating any and all titles and names, records plagiarizing true Turkish identities into Persian, Afgan, Hindu, Egypt, Greek, Armenian, etc. false identities.
