Will you make a video on Rudramadevi as well. She too was a female ruler from India who enjoyed a relatively more stable and successful rule.
The straggle of Jalaluddin Khwarizmian shah Against Mongol Empire is a good topic which deserve a documentary. I believe viewer of HistoryMarch will Enjoy it.
It wasn’t struggle, it was a massacre
@@auroraflos2498 yes not not actually. Khwarizmian Empire was destroyed but jalaluddin fought Against Mongol for a long time.he was brave commander.after battle of indus Genghis khan said" praise to that mother who give a son like jalal. Ah! If i had a son like him"

There was another female co-ruler named Shajar al-Durr founder of the Turkic Bahri Mamluk Dynasty of Egypt, the name of her husband was Aibak same as the one of the Delhi Sultanate also both Mamluk Sultanates inflicted heavy defeats on Mongols so much in common :D
Based
yeah I came here thinking it was about Shajaratt El durr
That’s Allauddone Khilji of Khilji dynasty and Baibars of Bahri and Qalawun
I've heard of her before. She managed to manipulate it where Egypt defeated a French invasion of the kingdom. She was an extraordinary ruler too. Shame what happened to her in the aftermath.
No they didn't , defeating some raiding parties of Mongols' subordinate who have managed to capture half of your capital isn't a big deal.
Many of the times they simple marched back.
In some books I read that Raziya was not the first choice of Iltutmish. Her another brother Nasiruddin(who established mamluk rule in Bengal) was the first choice. But in 1229 in perished. So Iltutmish had to choose Riziya. But there is no denial that she was raised very progressively. Giyasuddin Balban ruthlessly ended the nobility which ultimately led to the rise of the dynamic Khiljis.
Ghiyas Aldin Ghurid was Tajik Afghan a ditactor ruler
For women to hold power 'directly' might have been somewhat difficult, but influence was often another matter.
Women loading power in medieval India was like holding a burning coal in hand.
@علي ياسر you could read it as 'a-dam' as in the French term for a lady. Such that what if it were Lesbians who nurtured these 'first peoples'. Especially given all of the free pregnancies that seemed to go on when our species was 'closer' with any of these particular gods.
I'm a homosexual guy so no I don't want to be lorded over by any women... but even despite my kinks I generally don't want to be lorded over by men either.
@علي ياسر The monies... I didn't think you guys were supposed to charge interest. Although I do guess you have had the Jizya tax, to be put onto other people who like to believe in made-up things just other made-up things from what you want to believe. Which is actually sort of an anti-science really.
Loved the video, but feel the story progression went too quickly from her battles to win her throne straight to her battles losing it, with the 4 years she ruled being skipped over. The slide at the end covered some of it, but I feel like it would have done it more justice to actually speak about it for a few minutes!
Its very hard to describe the span of a 4 year rule. Its very short and doesnt give much information. Most likely there is very little info on those 4 years. Expecting a thorough analysis of 4 random years with little documentation is extremely difficult.
@@abdurrahmanqureshi3030 the last panel could simply have been narrated, given some illustration, and then placed before the part where she loses her throne

This woman was a very interesting character. Shame that not everyone accepted her rule. Because I get the feeling that she could've become one of the great rulers of history. Right up their with Queen Isabella I of Spain and Queen Elizabeth I of England.
Interesting how? She didn't do anything too different from her predecessors. She didn't emancipate women from purdah did she?
@@navinkumarpk86 Did she ever get the chance to do so?

How the fuck are you Kashif and Rajput? At least drop the name Rajput.
Let's be real here, even when men ruled there were women scheming behind the scenes
In the end, her "Sultana" grooming caused her downfall. Iltutmish taught her to be smart, but not to be wise.
This should be a good one, thanks guys
Fresh content, doubly so since this is a new subject to me. HM is one of the few channels that shine light on some of the lesser known events in history.

Hmmm, what about Queen Tamar of Georgia? Did you guys red about her, her history? You should, a material for a good video, real story.. Tamar even had a understanding with Saladin, there are letters written between Saladin and Tamara, acknowledging each other and dividing influence over their own territories. But most interesting is the story of Tamar, how she come to power after her father king David, how nobels wanted her gone but she eliminated them, divorced russian prince, a drunk one and remarried with Alan prince, Soslan.. All that period is considered as golden age in Georgian history. Not to mention some extraordinary battles done during that period..
This is a perfect historical story..
7:49 Interesting that anyone could ring a bell to get justice. 🤔
It's like a huge bell usually at the top of the Palace gates and it can be heard from within the Palace. Many rulers carried on using this way of justice for their people but it was mainly used when only the ruler could help them. They had other justice systems in place but sometimes they were not fair so the people ring the bell and the guards inform the sultan/King and then they are invited to the Royal Court.
Thank you with all love
Please make a video on Muhammad Bin Kashem who conquered Sindh at the age of 17.
Wow!! HistoryMarch!!! You just Hijack my sleep!!!!
Sad thing is that indian knows about Razia but after 23 years of Razia , Rudhramadevi became ruler of big powerful kingdom karkitya and rule for decades but in our textbooks we were not taught about her.
Actually, Indian history is focused on Delhi & Gangetic plain.
Certainly a very interesting topic. I don't think I've heard about Raziya before.
It's a shame that we never hear about her in school while learning about Indian History
Thanks for the upload. We need more women rulers history during middle age
A lot of this video seems to be about her father rather than Raziya herself. Also, don't underestimate the effect of women in sedentary societies either. Who do you think keeps the economies going in a productive capacity while men are serving in the armies? What of the women who followed the armies too? Lots of rich content available in that, and plenty of experts to consult about women's role in making history happen. Happy researching!
Yes agree, women were running markets and courtly/noble households all along. It's just that the history writers tended to be men. Maybe it was not so unusual that they didn't document it until you get one who makes a big grab for power like Razia did.
This is why she got overthrown, no one wanted to deal with that shit
Conscription rarely happened to that extent in the past, only a fraction of the population was ever recruited in the army.
Mass conscription became common only in the 18th and 19th centuries. And while women had *always* played an important role in the society, it was only after the 2 world wars that people began to realise the facts you've mentioned about women's role in society.
The cruel irony is that we needed the 2 bloodiest wars in history to emancipate *half* of the entire population.
@@madhurawat155 you do realize that women had the privilege of not being part of these mass conscription right?
Very interesting

During Delhi sultanate India Pakistan and Bangladesh were very wealthy.
Rajia sultanate was a great lady.
The Muslim History in India especially Mughal is fascinating. You should make videos on this topic. Human civilizations mostly didn't allow women to rule officially except for few like kedar Arab kingdom mentioned in Assyrian inscriptions. The name "Iltutmish" literally means "he who established the kingdom" in Turkish. "İL TUTMUŞ" GHURID DYNASTY was also a pure Turkish entity with Turkish speaking population, Turkish speaking army, Turkish speaking founders and rulers. Turks, throughout history, have always been mortal foes against each other when the issue is who will rule over whom. The others around have always taken advantage of this situation by rewriting a false history, changing and alienating any and all titles and names, records plagiarizing true Turkish identities into Persian, Afgan, Hindu, Egypt, Greek, Armenian, etc. false identities.
