I had a similar situation when I was in school, I was drawing these little monster animals called flaminals and my friend sort of caught on what I was doing and showed my teacher the animal drawings that I was doing and we ended up having a flanimals wall in class... Everyone loved him so much in class for 'coming up with the idea' the principle in assembly a few weeks later gave him a certificate for being creative and starting a new trend in the school.... Never got over it... 😂

Don't know why I remembered it that way, but the irony of him telling others that it's not cool to take other peoples jokes wasn't lost on me

You see, sometimes, an actor plays a character so perfectly (like Peele's Obama) that they have to continue playing them throughout the series. That actually reminds me of my colleague back in middle school, When I gave him an answer for a question the teacher had asked, He got all the credit for it though he had no idea of what he said. The hypotenuse is a math term to describe the longest side of a right triangle. And so the word hypotenuse sounds like high on pot.
It’s pretty much a stupid play on words blown out of proportions.

I love his laugh after he tells the joke.
I was always happy to make people laugh, and I was glad I didn't get in trouble for disrupting the class (I was one of those B average students who still cared too much about their perfect record for some reason), but one time one of the popular kids said I had a specialty at one-liners, and that compliment made me start getting angry at people when they'd repeat my jokes. I never got the courage to speak up, especially since I was scared it would flop coming from me, but from then on I was like "well I said it firrrrst" (mentally, I didn't actually say anything because then I'd become a target), and this skit brings me back to those middle school days. I'm 22, practically elderly, and I still remember how that feels.

In a gesture of pity, and to prove that he had made peace with the betrayal of many years ago, President Jackson plays along with Troy's denial, the latter of whom truly believing himself to be funny, and awards him with a medal that holds no actual value. Troy still wears his high school uniform because that's all he has left, and the only remaining treasure he has is a cheaply made T-Shirt that reminds his of his brief success. Upon receiving the superficial award, he is filled with gratitude, and hands his only possession to his old friend. He has nothing left.
