Cynthia, previously I have been diagnosed with ascites and lymphadenopathy and my lymph nodes are growing in number and size and I'm losing tons of weight despite my high-calorie intake. I'm so desperate to get my health back and resume my normal life because no matter what doctor, surgeon or hospital I go to ''they fixated in telling me that there is no treatment for my condition and they just sent me home and then I come home empty handed knowing that my condition is still persist. Can you briefly tell me What are PET scan and the process of it? What is the first test for a person like me to consider to rule out lymphoma? I have always wished nothing but the best for my family and friends, can't believe I have to go through so much worse especially in this holiday season. Their -delayed or false-treatment sucks the life out of me. xoxx

I'm just waiting for my needle biopsy after my doctor found a lump in my neck. They also found a mass in my chest. I've been in tears trying to come to terms with what is happening. It looks like a long and difficult journey to recover and certainly a life changing experience. I guess all you can do is focus on being positive, eating well, and having belief.

I had Hodgkin's Lymphoma 2B. Finished my treatment May 6th last year.
I had multiple lymph nodes on my neck. I had a nose scope to make sure the swelling wasn't in my throat. I was very 'lucky' that it was in an area that was easy for the needle biopsy. The results were inconclusive with A typical cells so they had to take out one of the larger lymph nodes. I had local anesthesia for the removal since I was pretty calm about the whole removal. After the biopsy and two diffrent CT scan I got my port placed the same way with the conscious anesthesia. For me the chemo was a roller coaster of feeling down then feeling 'normal' just in time for the next treatment. I will say that the effects build up over each session. Let your doctor know everything that is going on with you as far as how you feel and want side effect you are having. As far as the headaches I found that keeping hydrate is a major thing with them. I would wake up with my head pounding and after having a few large glasses of water things would start to feel better even without pain meds. Good luck to you girl I'm 30yrs old and fought the battle and beat it. You will do great!

I had affected lymph nodes in my neck on both sides, arm pits and chest above my diagram. I had one large one on the left side of my neck that was my clue in. Vi could only find the one large one and two smaller on my neck. I don't remember the exact total.

Hello everyone. I have non-follicular Hodgkin's lymphoma or NHFL. Can I just add a comment that I hope will help everyone with lymphoma? We go through a lot of biopsies. I was diagnosed three years ago and had a node removed in my neck. My scar was quite pronounced. Don't know how many stitches. However, I used the aloe vera plant (the actual plant sap, cut the leave down the middle and take the sap and rub it on the scar) to rub on my scar every day for weeks and even cellotaped the plant sap to my neck when I went to bed. Did this for weeks. To this day there is no visible scar. If you want to be scar free from your biopsy, please use this plant. By the way, I don't sell plants, just in case anyone asks. I bought mine from Amazon and kept the pieces that I cut from the plant that I used in the fridge in tin foil until I needed more, just to keep them fresh. It really works. No more scars. Hope this helps.

Hi, how inflamed were your lymph nodes at the time you got the ultrasound done? I have had some inflamed lymph nodes in my neck over the neck bone, doctor scheduled an ultrasound that showed them, but the doctor said they are not too big to be concerned, 11mm the largest. He also said he wanted to rule out lymphoma, which he did right after the ultrasound. He said this is nothing and I should wait for them to go away naturally... I felt super relieved, but two more months and they are still there so I started to worry again, that is why I ask. Thank you and hope you are doing well. 😊

My Hodgkins Lymphoma story My scans were of my neck/chest and abdomen and apparently showed no adenopathy or any abnormalities. Gonna get a couple more scans (MRI and ultrasound) in other areas. What’s odd is that the CT didn’t show a lymph node that’s around 1.1 cm in my neck. The oncologist who I’m seeing for this initially mentioned a biopsy, but didn’t say anything at the followup. I’ll be seeing him again next week after these other exams. Still a bit lost as to the cause of my symptoms. Most of my bloodwork (a lot of things were checked) seems fine. Hemoglobin and red blood cells are a little out of range, but they don’t seem too worrisome to the doc. Thanks for the reply by the way!

Instead it increases in numbers. Rn i can feel it, it's on my left neck area. Just in a few months.then, I went to the dr, they prescribed me with some antibiotics. 3 visits, with different dose of antibiotics, but the swollen lymph nodes never goes away. On 15 march i will have an appointment with the dr again and they will decide whether i have to do the biopsy or not. Honestly i am pretty scared. Cause the lumps grows a lot just in a glimpse. I have some symptoms too which i thought it might be normal, like flues and night sweats.

Hi, TANIA, i want to know the chemo results?

  • @Thunderkkat
    @Thunderkkat Před 4 lety

This is currently something I am getting checked for, although symptoms vary, i have some common symptoms along with a pea sized swollen node behind my ear that they initially thought was from an infection, but it didn't go away with antibiotics. I haven't heard much about my chest xray which I'm guessing is good or they would have called. I've had suspicion about lymphoma for a few months now. 2 years ago I and Epstein Barr virus and have been dealing health problems additional to what I already had. I just found out that epstein Barr could cause lymphoma.

Hey trying to see if you have an update on everything? I recently just tested positive for recent Epstein Barr Virus, however my blood work looks a little weird, but my doctor said it could just be the mono working through me. I've had swollen lymph nodes under my jaw and chin for over a year now, and have had a rash that my GP said looks like pityriasis rosea for 1 month.
Seems like you have a similar experience and wanted to know if you went back for further testing?

Hi I'm 21 and I've essentially been rather ill with swelling and edema, I had a x ray and the shadow produced on my right side suited the basis for lymphoma. I have a CT scan in a few days and I'm terrified. What advice do you have to keep calm and positive as I'm really kind of on edge at the moment Hahaga. I don't know yet however the evidence is weighing up and yeah. I hope you are going strong and any advice is graciously welcome :) xx

JonnyT121 I know what you are going through, I was very scared and could not sleep waiting for testing and the results. I tried to think positive so that is what I recommend for you because yours might turn out to be non cancer. If it is hodgkins just know it is treatable and you will get through it. I am having my 12th treatment tomorrow which is my last one and I did fine and was able to work through it from home. God bless you, I will say a prayer for you.

My Hodgkins Lymphoma story Hello again! Quick update, I've seen my Haematologist and she is rather convinced it's lymphoma. My CT scan showed I had a mass in my anterior medistinal (space between lungs at the front if my chest) that is 10cm in its max dimension! A good note however is that they spotted no other masses anywhere else, however my PET scan in a few days will say definitely if that's the case. I had a ultrasound biopsy under local anesthetic yesterday and that went rather well indeed. Hopefully by the end of next week Or so I will know exactly what I'm dealing with! Also I'm graduating next week so I'm looking forward to that. We are all trying to keep positive but every now and then I just sense impending doom hahaha, but I have youth and good fitness and all round health on my side hahaha and they say it's usually very treatable. I hope everything is going fantastic with you and you're staying strong!
      Yours
      Jonathan x

Hi I had 2 small pea size bumps that appeared a few months they didn’t hurt but didn’t go away. a few weeks ago they got really swollen or inflamed and they hurted. I went to the doctor and she sent me to get a ct scan but I’m just gonna have it next Tuesday. the swelling went down but they are still there. I also noticed now under my jaw I have some that are tender. I noticed when I brush with the makeup. I’m a little scared. Usually my hubby will tell me if it’s just me and my anxiety but this time he says he sees and feels them too. I want to think it’s nothing but idk now.

I've had a small lump for 6 months and the doctors aren't concerned it seems like they want it to get bigger and bigger before they want to biopsy anything. I've been in pain for months. Collar bone ahces. Chest pains. Shooting pains down arms. Aching armpits... But its all in my head i guess? I don't understand why they refuse to biopsy. I've never had lumps on my neck. Mine is about the size of a pinto bean. They dont care. Nobody cares. I have two swollen nodes. But they're both under 2cm big and they dont care about lumps under 2cm. One is 1.5 cm btw. NO! They say, it needs to be 2cm!!!
