Our ginger tabby Baby is 17 and gets birthday parties.Goldie was just a pup at 5 but a canine version of Baby in getting birthday parties!
My grandparents bought a kitten at a market in August 1970( when this was still allowed) and we had a birthday for the cat every August 6th. The cat didn't quite see her 16th birthday, but was a well loved member of the family for a long time.
This is from Wednesday 23rd March 1983.

Yes, replaced Shep almost from birth. I believe it was Christopher Wenner's dog that he left when he went to the Falklands.
