This was such a pleasure to hear. I think modern music misses out on so much by neglecting the bassoon in compositions. It has a warmer sound than a tuba.

Wow....this is easily the best embellishing on this piece I've heard.

Very nice to hear the proper embellishments in both the keyboard and soloist.

this was not written with embellishments, so do you mean what would have been standard embellishments during the baroque period?

I am very grateful for you having put this up as the sheet music for this hasn't come in yet and I'm using this video to learn it while I wait. I just wish that there was a way I could find it written with all the extra little phrases that were added in so I could use it.

I can do this for you! www.transposemysong.com (note - website is wonky - you'll have to scroll down a bit) and my email is jeffrags at gmail dottt com
Wilke puts in a lot of ornamentation, and I just finished 'singing along with it'. If you're game, I'd love to put this together for you with Wilke's ornaments, though it is always best to use one's own.

No need to worry about baroque/renaissance pitch here, he's playing the modern bassoon.

Love this piece. Every time I listen to it, the thought pops into my mind, that this is what jazz would have sounded like, if it were invented in the baroque era.

The mood in the first movement is lyrical, its slow and is like someone is singing it. The 2nd movement is technical meaning fast and is basically the opposite of the first movement. The mood is sort of like energetic, fun

@@andonirete7543 pay careful attention to sticcato and slurs...whats written origonally was nothing, youre supposed to do what would be 'appropriate'....i did my jury on this last semester and on the first set of 16th notes i did, 1 staccato 16th note, 3 slur, and then on the second set that comes right after, i slurred all the notes except for when you go to the high C&B, and no slur on beat 4 of course...then during the second half of the second movement, when you have the 16th notes again, i did the same 1 staccato, 3 slurred......that fast part isnt actually the most difficult part of the piece, believe it or not....at least for me...the hardest part is probably the second half of the 4th movement....mostly from measure 23-31
