"The Concerto in A minor, RV 498, has an effective opening ritornello, leading to a first bassoon episode with wide leaps and a structure based on sequences. The F major central Larghetto has a lyrical bassoon aria, again with an almost antiphonal use of upper and lower registers of the solo instrument. The minor key duly returns for the last movement, the solo bassoon entry marked by sequential writing." (Keith Anderson)

Sob uma base repetitiva (homofônica) o mestre inicia a melodia nas cordas, depois entre ao solista a aventura sonoro-figurativa.

@@AncientRe Nope. There are much better recordings out there today.

@@AncientRe All I can hear is your opinion, and a wrong one at that. It's poorly performed on modern instruments, too slow, without any sort of fire to it. The period baroque orchestras are much better.
Doesn't matter anyways. I don't give a fig for your opinion and it doesn't change mine.

@@AncientRe We aren't at a party right now, so your little insult is irrelevant. If trashing performances makes music elitist, then every genre is elitist, because people trash performances of bands all the time. So you're wrong there. Furthermore, many composers of this time were fluent in Latin as was Vivaldi, so my use of it is apt. Again, nice opinion, it would be a shame if I disregarded it wouldn't it?
