- Over the course of three days, we were quite busy at the Illinois Railway Museum to continue celebrating their 70th Anniversary during their annual Diesel Days Weekend! We certainly had a blast filming trains with various diesel locomotives lash ups on the Caboose Trains, Coach Trains, and the Nebraska Zephyr set while seeing some of you out there with us! Enjoy the video as we cover all three days of diesel train action at the Illinois Railway Museum!

cool
I went there on Sunday!
Wow
Great vid thanks
Suppose I might be featured there a bit, as I was Conductor-Trainee (now fully-qualified Conductor) on the caboose train (the one with the whiskers).

I went there last saturday, definitely the best experience for train enthusiasts
Missed it this year, but I felt like I was there! Thanks ever so much from a subscriber in Streamwood👍🏻❤️🚂
Thanks for watching!
20:58 you can thank me for that hornshow. Psssst little secret we swapped an Amtrak K5LA onto 1848 for the weekend, that's why it doesn't have its usual K5HL.
I thought that sounded familiar.
Illinois Railway Museum in Union Illinois and the Railroading Heritage of Midwest America in Silvis Illinois are awesome railroad museums in Illinois.
IWT!
Seems like a cool place, great video!
I need to find the time and money to get back there. I enjoyed every visit to the museum when I was stationed at Great Lakes NTC. To me it's incredible that units as 'new' as the B40-8 are museum pieces now.
Had a fantastic weekend out there. Definitely will have to go back again
I wish the museum was transit-accessible, I totally would’ve gone!
Unfortunately, when the site was chosen in 1964, that wasn't much of an option. The adjacent C&NW line is planned to host Metra service between Chicago and Rockford, and I'm hoping the museum will lobby to establish a weekend flag stop at Olson Road (we could easily donate the land) but I don't know how accommodating Metra/State of Illinois will be.
I went Friday
I liked where cnw 411 cnw 1518 4506 1605 that brown diesel (I don’t know the name) and metro 308 pulled the coach train and the Nebraska zephyr at the same time!!
If by brown you mean orange, then yes, the Milwaukee 118c was also on that train.
Ahhh yeah I barely see that unit so I forgot easily

Awesome video Andrew!
Thank you!
What’s the status of UP 428 these days
Still being worked on, though I'm rather new in the Steam Department, so I'm not sure how close it is to completion.
I was supposed to go there but I went to my stupid dumb coal city railfanning. I was supposed to go there.😢
I wouldn’t call coal city stupid and dumb. I’d love to go there and railfan
