Honestly Chomp Thing isn’t that bad of a character. Once you get the health regeneration upgrade, you can get around two thirds of your health back by hopping into burrow and standing still. I also run digestion over damage upgrades on him due to his pretty meh spray, so swallowing is usually more efficient.

Chomp Thing isn't as bad as I thought, tbh. His health regen goes god speed with upgrades. Though, I kinda wish his rate of fire was adjusted so that he's less reliant on mashing. At least he's not as bad as he was in Garden Warfare 1.

I suggested you to play the commando pea sometime. He sure is objectively worse than agent- and law-pea but he's more fun to play as in my opinion, for he is my favourite out of all characters and it takes some more effort to do well with him unlike most other pea-shooters who people play mostly with. You should check him out and make a video out of him if there is an interest. :)

I learned a trick with peashooter and idk if it is already known but while your in hyper you can jump up then use chili bean bomb and it will push you forward

After having to play Squawk and Chomp Thing back to back, I think Splashy deserves to have some fun. I definitely think that Commando Corn would be a blast to play. I know I liked him in Legends of the Brawl a while back. (He still holds my highest kill streak on plants)

I have an idea on how to make Chomp Thing feel good to play as: Don't think it's a rushdown character. It's a hit and run one. In any case, follow this strategy: If damaged, go into hiding. You will restore a tremendous amount of health, which will help You either win a fight You wouldn't have survived otherwise, or start a new one. Chomp Thing regenerates like crazy, so You should absolutely use that as an advantage.

I recommend goop on this chomper even if you don't swallow them while gooped because you can easily dodge shots and regenerate while attacking. And if you want damage, you can be a scumbag and spikeweed them near the end of the goop.

If you use both health upgrades, even though chomp thing is still outclassed by like everyone else damages wise, he heals so quick. But most the time it ain’t really worth it.

Here's my advice. Don't use Chomp Thing in Multiplayer until your Specialist Lvl 5. Use him in Private Matches, Garden Ops or Backyard Battlegrounds.
