- It’s the final part of my epic week in Bali, Indonesia and in this episode I’ll show you more of Ubud, its Water Palace, me on traditional Balinese attire (!), markets, Monkey Forest, rogue monkeys enjoying the streets of Ubud, and to the east, 3 stunning waterfalls on a full day private tour, Bali Zoo, an afternoon caring for elephants (don’t worry, I don’t cry!), more local delicacies, a final morning by the pool of my hotel, and the long 19 hour journey with Qatar Airways back to London, then to Basingstoke to see my beautiful fur babies ❤️ Really hope you enjoy this episode!

Jamie, where ever you go you've got us lot with you 😉your never on your own ....The thing about travel vlogs is you are giving us escapism we get drawn in to your activities, and the lucky one's of us that have experienced some of the things you show go straight back to those memories, also we come along for the new things.... it's a win win for us all...without the heat 🥵 you took me back to memories of Sri Lanka... now if you haven't been there, pop it on your list......

We were lucky to spend four nights in Bali (Ubud) in mid-March following the end of a cruise from Sidney. It was the highlight of our vacation. Thank you so much for helping us relive our all too brief time there. The beauty of the surroundings is apparent in your pictures but I am glad that you also also describe the wonderful culture of the warm and welcoming people of Bali. Truly a special and unique place.

I so agree about travelling solo. People say things to me like "Ooh Aren't you brave!" - no... I just plan well and don't take stupid risks. and "Aren't you lonely?" No. I am not dependent on others to have a good time. I meet lovely people and I always say to them, particularly couples, "I don't need to be 'taken under your wing' I would hate to be that woman who tags along and you go back to your room and say to each other "hope we don't see HER again today" I love solo travel. Sure I would like to share a meal, a drink, a view with a loved one sometimes, but i don't have any family who are in a position to travel with me. I am not going to miss out on seeing the world just because I don't have anyone to go with. I just wish solo travel wasn't so heavily handicapped by cost.

Thank you for mentioning solo travel. My Husband of 20 years passed away 3 years ago. We traveled the world together and made so many awesome travel plans for our future. So I have continued to live his dreams for him and continued travelling, but by myself. I’m only 50 and still wear my wedding rings, get totally sick to death of people saying “Left your Husband at Home”….I think Bali maybe next on my List !! 👏👏👏

I just have to say, I LOVE your travel vlogs! I love everything about them; the editing is brilliant! I love the transitions from one scene to another. I love the ratio of talking to video. I love that you're so informative about where you go! (You'd be surprised how many vloggers are not.) I love your soft voice. I love the length of your videos! Most bloggers are only 15 or 20 min, not giving much information at all. I can watch 30 min on the treadmill, and have the remaining 30 min to look forward to, and get me back on the treadmill the next day.. lol. Overall, Jamie, they are so well done! After watching I have a thorough idea of what it like to travel to that particular spot, and I have no questions. And that's how it should be. Thanks so much and many more safe travels to you.. 🩷🌸

I would love to be able to travel solo but I just don't have the confidence to do so! Ignore the haters, you get to see so much of the world by being able to solo travel. Bali looks amazing - how incredible was the elephants! Hope to see more land base holidays, it's lovely to see so much of a certain place. Looking forward to the next vlog!

Have to say we are the most unadventurous travellers you will ever meet, one of us really likes our comforts and the other is a very picky eater so the thought of visiting somewhere like this would not even have been considered ...... until now. Watching these vlogs has opened our eyes to what a beautiful world we live in. I'm not saying we'll be jumping on the next plane to Bali, but for once, it might be considered as a possibility.

I’ve been patronised on my first cruise. It was the waiter staff. Also a couple who were sat next to me, but they were on their phone the whole time not even talking to each other so I find it funny them saying it.

Solo travel is the best, I love it I do. It’s so nice to be able to go at your own pace do what you like see and experience things you want. It’s a great way to meet people, solo travel has given me so much confidence in my day to day life. I always say why wait for others go do it yourself, I’ve never regretted a solo trip yet. Thanks for showing us Bali it’s now moved up a notch or two on my too see list

I totally agree with you about solo travel. I’m on a cruise by myself in a few weeks and when this happens I’m never alone. Okay I do tend to talk to everyone but that’s just me. People who patronise and ‘feel sorry’ for solo travellers have no idea about that person. We have our own reasons why I sometimes travel alone. I pity the person who either calls me sad or patronises me for being on my own. Any way rant over with. Another trip for your radar is India. We did it a few years back. Spent 3 days in Delhi to see my grandfather’s grave, then caught the train to Goa for a week. You need to experience an over night train in India. It is absolutely amazing. The views are something else. Keep the vlogs coming as we love them.

Jamie, we just got to Bali and found out a few things for you. You can scan a QR code or use the Bali website to do your declaration beforehand (they had it for us in Singapore). Also, the tourist 'charge' is a voluntary payment. Lastly, the X-ray of your luggage is random (I guess you have to look suspicious for them to choose you - LOL). Anyway, loving Bali. Hugs!

I greatly appreciate your vlogs, Jamie. My partner and I have a unique approach to travel, preferring to explore independently sometimes. I still work and have to plan my AL just like Mathew, I prefer to spend my time in warmer climates, and himself in cooler like the UK . Nothing wrong with either
Others need to understand that we are individuals with our own interests and not constantly attached to one another. It is unfortunate to see some views about relationships that are so controlling, suffocating, and insecure. As for the toothbrush. ..how do they know it's yours???

I have previously had no desire to go to Bali but it's definitely gone on my list thanks to your experience though a week for such a long way seems a bit short so will be interested in your final thoughts
No amount of travel is too far for a week away imo. I travelled to Barbados / Hong King for 4 nights once - I remember saying then that the alternative was ‘just to not go’!

Yes the local is semi correct, start by dropping the price by 70% and don't move from there, if the vendor doesn't want to sell at that price just tell them you will go to the Coco Supermarket up the road and get it from there. The prices at Coco are about 70% less than what the vendors start at.
