    I am new to the crawling hobby and I am really enjoying your channel. I currently have a SCX10 ii and have a SCX24 (the new gray truck) on order. My wife wants to get into crawling as well so I am contemplating which SCX10 iii I want to get (and pass down the ii to her since it is almost brand new.) Your videos make everything pretty clear and concise and you make a number of common sense suggestions that help guide us newbs down the right path. Thanks for taking the time to shoot, edit and post all the content. I really appreciate it.

      @TJthercGuy Před 4 lety

      Chris V If your talking about the scx24 keep in mind all rtr and blinky light chargers are garbage don’t matter the rc same with rtr servos. For $109-$120 its the best 1/24th scale crawler you can get. The motors fail because they are tiny it’s not hard to over heat when running on soft blankets and pillows.
      Dirty water will kill the motor quick to. I’ve had 3 first 1 my buddy has now and it’s still fine other then his kid burnt up the stock motor. I have 2 now and no issues deadbolts servo had lasted months with brass wideners and over weights. The c10 servo only quite because water got in it.
      In this hobby any rc can be dead out of the box and any other micro has way more issues then a crappy servo and cheapo charger.
      Horizons will just send me a replacement servo. There customer service is great.
      Watch my channel to see what the scx24 can really do! 😂

      Yeah, I'am already informed about the two. At the moment due to lag of time and money I'am planning to buy an Axial 1/24. The rgt V2 doesn't win against it for me. The Devastator is always on my list and very sexy with the metal parts and little scale view and options to 4 wheel steer. It's a little to slow for me atm and after many videos I feel getting attracted to the scale side. 80€ is cheap for it anyway. There are different names/versions of it too, not so easy to find the right at bangood and co.

    Awesome ride there, dude! Looks like a fantastic track! 😃
    About the URUAV, it's a pretty new brand even on Banggood. The best thing I ever got from them is a stick mat to help hold batteries on quadcopters. And I have a pretty nice carbon filter frame from them as well. 😊
    Anyway, in my case Banggood is my only option. Because I'm from Brazil. 😕

    • @lazyman1011
      @lazyman1011 Před 4 lety

      It seems that I'am a metal fetishist. Short before ordering the Axial I found the Gecko and boom I'am again fighting with my budget and timewindows.
      Same story before at 1/10 with this one here banggood.app.link/XKeKpoclv7
      But adding a nice remote and a brushless and full metal servo and a nice esc and lipo and again it's very expensive. Also don't wanna buy so high value things on bangood and also pay tax on top.
      Will calculate the gecko but think my first crawler will be the axial 1/24. If I'am getting addicted I can buy the others anyway and try to sell some stuff before, like my TAMIYA Vanquish '88.

    At 4:00, the Scx24 doesn't have a drag brake and worm gears can't operate as a drag brake as the gears don't roll. However it does have 3 speed settings and the low speed setting makes for a good crawl gear downhill being controlled by trigger input.

It is described as a 1:18 scale rock crawler and it looks very similar in design and concept to the Axial Wraith 4WD Rock Racer. So if you are looking for a buggy style crawler rather than a SUV-body style then it might be worth a look. The space frame chassis provides great wheel articulation and ground clearance. Please see my channel, BlackSeaRC, for a full review including unboxing, testing in steep rocky terrain and an assessment of the good/bad points. Best wishes from the Black Sea!

      Looks pretty good. Pricey though. Body does not look good and the throttle seems jerky. Amain has a great video on it. czcams.com/video/b83b7Qeug5I/video.html

      i just picked one up, and at $129 now, there is a lot of value in this very capable machine. it is very well made and the design is great with options to customize. using a 2s lipo i agree it is a bit jerky, but on medium throttle setting it has decent power and torque to crawl most obsticles well. im going to drop in a higher turn motor to get more bottom end, but overall it is a great vehicle and would love to see how it stacks up against the scx24. keep uo the good work, fellas!

    I feel like the banggood truck would have made some of those obstacles with enough patience

      perhaps. But then so would the others. Bangood has the best tire compound.

      No. research, research from friends we trust and we heard it's not at this level because of torque and modulation issues.

    You Keep sayin taller tires on the SCX24 they dont even look close too scale, they look goofy the coyote and urav look Scale and are scale

  • @squid_mtb
    @squid_mtb Před 4 lety +5

    Literally the only reason the scx24 is "better" than the cr24 is because of those ridiculously giant non-scale tires...

    I like the Mini crawlers I just hate the way they look when they Kerr all. They look like a matchbox car rolling down a concrete street. They always look like they have no suspension and they are way too light weight. For me it is all about the scale driving look

    plain to see the axial is the best by leaps and bounds

  • @999benhonda
    @999benhonda Před 4 lety

    Im not surprised that axial has made a better RTR 24th scale rig...but I am surprised that they pretty much matched the price of other rigs. I've had the losi and ecx models, but the low torque and low throttle control sapped the fun out of driving them as you couldn't drive scale.

    Did u try any of the lower gears of the carisma for ur "review"? I dont think so. Maybe that option only comes on the f-150. But mediocre/one-sided review for sure. I.e. axial. It is dope but maybe u should do ur research before posting ur video next time.

      Sorry but we stand by our review. The Carisma was awful and we have to call it like it is.
