Danny Devito is Gorbachev?
(The gang attempt to reform the Soviet Union)
😆😆😆😆😆 is good to understand your comment.
International solidarity is not a joke friend
The Trashman Empire
Charlie is Lenin Mack is Stalin Dee is .. well Dee's still a bird
Good one
"OK, I've got Gorbachev fooled...everybody, BACK TO WORK!"
Nice callback to the other Phill Hartman Reagan
nyce
That one was my favorite Reagan skit ." This is the part of the job I hate" Lol
Danny's awful attempt at a Russian accent makes it so much funnier
Ahhhh....Russian accent, Italian Nyc accent...same thing 😅
@Brady Fries Ding ding ding we have a winner
He also dubbed Lorax into Russian too and this was horrible and I'm Russian.
If I close my eyes, he sounds exactly like Triumph the Comic Insult Dog. I kept waiting for Danny to say, "For me to POOP on!"
he sounds russian to me. his accent isn,t that bad.
That Reagan impression is amazing!
Niklas bla Yeah. Phil Hartman was one of the best to do it. Unfortunately he was gone to soon.
Niklas bla SO IS THE GORBACHEV IMPRESSION
Pressu4 Freelion28 in a horrible way
Niklas bla spot on
RIP Phil and Ronald Reagan
Funny, and true: Reagan loved to tell Hollywood stories.
C R well, he was an actor so, it's kind of expected.
yeah, he was worthless
Hope he enjoys it in Hell
Cough It Up wtf? Why? He saved the country from Carters failboat.
Because he was a fucking corporate puppet without a real thought in his head :)
Phil Hartman NEVER disappointed, what a blessing his presence was in what little time we had to enjoy what he bestowed to this world! RIP 😇🙏🏻😇
I never knew I needed Danny Devito as Gorbachev in my life.
❤❤
Ronald Reagan never cried about being parodied.....Hartman did best impressions of Reagan
Ronald Reagan had a sense of humour.
Reagan was a man. Trump is a man-child.
ClintDempsey76 No, they just portrayed Reagan as either a not very bright goof or a evil mastermind masquerading as a goof.
The key difference is that Reagan had a sense of humor and tended to make himself the butt of the joke all the time, it was his go to response. Trump doesn’t seem to have much of a sense of humor at all. To Reagan, the mockery was all part of being president and could even be funny as he was aware of his own faults and enjoyed a good laugh. To Trump, it’s an insult no matter who plays him because Trump takes himself so seriously. He must always be seen as powerful, strong, and in control. So, he takes the mockery poorly as a result.
Because Reagan had a fair portrayed
Save Net Neutrality Anti-Republican trump portrayed was biased!
Wow, took me up to the last second to realize that Gorbachev is played by Danny DeVito!
Haha I only realised when I read your comment
Haha I'm the opposite. Right when I heard him start talking I knew it was DeVito, confirming it in the description of the video.
Wow!! Did not know that!☺
Same
The guy who portrayed Gorbachev in Naked Gun looked pretty spot on too.
When Mr. Reagan went to Moscow was invited to a University to talk about new times he talked at least 15 minutes about Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
I can't blame him for talking about a great movie
Haha I wonder if those people even knew what that movie was
@@kayzeaza No they wouldent know about it.
@@ryhanzfx1641
Butch Cassidy
@@napoleonbonaparteempereurd4676 It's not like it was a unknown, but rather I don't think anyone actually showed it. Westerns were popular back then even in the east block, just not all got to the theaters.
Danny Devito on a booster seat being russian. My favorite SNL sketch.
get shorty
Another Phil Hartman gem.
Miss that dude.
You and me both.
He should've picked a better wife.
2018
Gorbachev: Is that the Bill Clinton monument?
Driver: No sir, it’s the Washington monument.
Lol. Hahaha, oh youuuu.
I don’t get it
LMAO
@Ryan Friedman they only Bill Clinton monument is Monica Lewinsky's stained dress🤣💀
RIP Phil Hartman you were amazing
Phil Hartman was the man. He played two presidents and a first lady!
RIP captain Carl from pee-wee's playhouse
He also played Trump looooong before he was "president" and voiced troy Mcclure(who you might remember from such episodes as a fish called selma and the simpsons spinnoff showcase)
@@henrybelman7424 Don't forget Lionel Hutz :)
Is the man, not was
I would love to talk movie trivia with ronny😂😂
That would have been a really great tour....
Phil Hartman sketches always had the best premises
R.I.P. Phil Hartman, I have to watch each sketch at least twice because I start reminiscing about every great sketch of his, and Troy McClure, etc., and I realize I've missed the sketch.
F in the chat for Gorbachev
I kind of wish he was Ronald Reagan, Mastermind, on this car ride.
RIP Gorbs
Missing Ronnie and Phil♥️💕💗
Gorbachev: And how you dealing with AID virus?
Reagan: Uhh... next question...
What is AID virus ?🤔
Phil Hartman DOES sound like Ronald Reagan in this skit 😆
I love awwing Danny DeVito, but Hartman sure has the best lines and resemblance, very well done!!
Its amazing how Devito is a legendary famous actor and played so many memorable roles. Yet most people remember him as Frank Reynolds LOL.
Most people remember him as Louie Depalma from Taxi
Many great roles for about 5 decades now but frank just so damn right the way he plays him that robbery moment where he eats the hot dogs hilarious
That is incredible . I love to watch is again and again.
Reagan was known for telling his Hollywood stories!!! Love the telling of where he would of been during war!!!
Long Live Phil Hartman! He was tremendous as Reagan and Clinton!
He also did Trump before he was president
Devito As Gorbachev, PRICELESS!!!!!!
Is it just me, or was I expecting Toonces the cat to be the driver?
David Wonn I was thinking the same thing
Lol that woulda been awesome
omigod is that Danny Devito trying to do a Russian accent. poor New Jerseyan.
I heard that after he got inaugurated, Reagan actually did ask to see the War Room. When he was told it didn't really exist, he said he had been looking forward to it after seeing it in "Dr. Strangelove." Hard to believe this wasn't too far off.
Rest In Peace to the host with the most glasnost!
Phil Hartman. RIP 🙏
The really big war room was in Dr. Strangelove not Fail Safe but Ron forgets these things.
Took me one and a half minutes to realize that's Devito. I guess I'm an idiot?
maybe you are an Devidiot?
I love Devito and it took me just as long.
I love Devito and it didn't took me long.
"President Reagan,Mastermind--SNL" is much more funnier than this skit.
Great crowd.
Remembered when this first aired.
Danny's new york\jersey accent is so thick lmao
The best person to do a Bill Clinton imitation in the Ronald Reagan imitation was the late great Phil Hartman
The late great Phil Hartman,
Enjoy.
Hartman and divito.... just gold.
life imitates art, dunnit.
The algorithms randomly throwing this up is amazing
Devito rulez.
Man… watching Hartman play Reagan is a revelation. This was before I started watching snl. Not before I was alive mind you lol
Oldie but a goodie
as an 80s kid, theres no way around it, Devito cracked me up in almost anything i saw him in and he was in a LOT back then..
I thought Toonces was going to be driving.
So was I, especially based on the thumbnail!
Every time I see a clip having to do with Gorbachev and Reagan I can't help but think back to that Family Guy clip where they were both in a joint press conference being asked about a Missile Pact and Reagan is like, "Well there was a missile. And something definitely got packed." HAH!
Hutch214 after reading multiple biographies about Reagan, it’s highly likely that he actually made that joke in private.
Thanks to Family Guy, I always think of him standing in front of a McDonald's going:
"Mr Gorbachev, tear down this wall! REAGAN SMASH!"
I always thought this skit would have been funnier if they had led with the Gort the robot bit and Gorby didn't know he was talking about a movie...
OMG YES. I played jacksfilm's CZcams game and went from Julius Caesar to Gorbachev
Is that the quote from the necronomicon in evil dead?
3:53, Star Wars action figures.
Devito looks more like Chancellor Helmut Kohl!
Yes,true.
He looks more like Helmut Kohl on Spitting Image.
Klatau Berata Necktoe is a passage in the book that allows one to retrieve said book without awakening the army of the dead. Everyone knows that!
"Kaatuu, Berada, Ni*cough cough*!"
It's Nikto and they were also Star Wars character names
Loved Phil Hartman’s Reagan.
That friend who loves to play movie trivia on dinners.
3:19, it might be the tomb of the unknown soldier.
It’s the Jefferson Memorial sir!
Hartman as regan was hilarious 😂😅😂
Comedy GOLD
Tyrone Power’s name was pronounced Terr-own
Phil Hartman's Reagan is on point!
Started off well then fell flat.
that sketch could have been better, I like the premise a lot.
Here from a Jim Gaffigan bit about Gorbachev's scar. Lol.
Phil Hartman!
Didn't realize that was DeVito until he started talking
DeVito's Russian accent is gold!😂
2:23 "well it's in there" LOL, so stupid, obvious, but that's why it's funny.
People saying SNL unfairly rips on Trump because of being a Republican, is like saying they ripped on OJ Simpson because he was black.
Before frank renyolds became Charlie’s roommate the Kremlin was his former home
Did anyone hear the gaffe at around 3 mins? “War womb”?
0:12.."Please Ron stop staring at my forehead"....#SNLforeshadowsPotter?
chachu ravi ravi No. Gorbachev had a spot on his head in real life. Google a picture of him and you will see
@@kayzeaza No, he means that Ron is a Harry Potter character.
May I offer you an egg in this trying time?
Phil Hartman is the best
We miss you, Phil!
Chernobyl: explodes
Gorbachev: So anyway I started blasting…
War womb. Freudian slip, eh? 2:53.
He didn't fire the driver?
We miss you Phil 🥺
I would love to work @ SNL. Anyone know a point of contact.? 🙏
I HATE the fact we can NOT click anymore on the images at the end of this video! :'(
2:44 teleportation
Truly fucking great!!
It’s sad to see that Gorbachev knows more about the monuments than the President. 😂😂😂
A bit slow but it was passable for the mid to late 80s. Writer's strikes, bad decisions, lack of focus, poor sketch ideas and changing actors really hurt the show back then. It's almost a miracle the show survived and then prospered to give us some of its best cast and characters ever.
Matthew Hudson, In other words, you don't get it. Sarcasm is an art form that escapes MANY people; don't worry you aren't alone. Humor is subjective and often hard for some to understand. Too bad you are here watching something you don't like. A shame there aren't other YT channel for you to watch.
It really is too bad that you choose to draw your own conclusions to things you don't understand rather than take the time and effort to learn more before you post a comment. I never said that "I didn't get it" or that "I didn't like it". You are the one saying those things. I do get it, and I do like it more than I dislike it, but just barely. - You can clearly see that I said the sketch was passable for the time period. Saying that it was passable in no way implied that I was saying it was bad. It wasn't bad. The point I was trying to get across was that the sketch _could have been better_ and _may have been better_ if competent people had ample time to tweak and fine tune it before it went to air.
It was way better then than all the liberal garbage they have on there still crying Trump won.
Gotta love Danny, but boy this was the most watered down, american version of a russian accent ever. Could've tried harder.
Is that late phil Hartman?I wonder they were 90s cast?
what show was forrest tucker on? you got it F troop!
Phil Hartman was the best.
Oh wow I didn't realize it was danny devito until he translated klatu varatu nictu xD
It's klaatu barada nikto
I thought Regan wanted to see the war room as seen in Dr. Strangelove not Fail Safe
SNL brilliance… never to be repeated when compared to the SNL junk they show now.
Danny Devito
A lot of these are in Arlington, not DC.
Reminds me of Bill Hader
