Cool Project 😎👍🏻
RC Action Australia
Thanks Adam 😊👊🏻
Yes. Loving those “Lime Yellow” rims.
Toejam
Excellent 😊👊🏻
Thanks for watching buddy
The grass hopper 2 was my first rc tamiya . When I was kid . I think mine came with the neon yellow wheels as well 🇬🇧🇬🇧
Richard Perry
Oh wow that’s awesome you had a Super G, very cool 😎 Richard 👊🏻
Love Glenns enthusiasm. Love these vidoes. Thanks for sharing your knowledge of the mighty Tamiya. Top bloke

Love it Glenn! What a chunky little beast! Those day glow rims look awesome 👍
Timmo
Excellent 😊👊🏻
Thanks for watching
Looks awesome mate! I was sceptical at the start, but it turned out very cool. The driver just makes it.
Marietta Corsini
Yeah thanks my friend, the driver was almost the most important part of the jigsaw for me 😂👊🏻
Love the tire decals
George Jones
Thanks George I think they worked well 😊👊🏻
That driver was perfect in there.
darkiee69
Thank you 😊😊😊
Wow! That came out super cool! Tamiya should produse one like that👌👌👌🏁
Goran Oieras
Excellent thank you Goran 😊👊🏻
Brilliant! 👍👍.This and the Mad rabbit are both fantastic looking cars. You certainly know how to put a good looking car together! Bravo and i cant wait to see what you come up with next.😊👍
Wait! That's going to cost you extra.
Thanks so much for your lovely comment my friend 😊👊🏻
Awesome build man! Your videos take me back to my childhood days. Grab a few liters of kerosene from the station the next time you get gas. Use a small plastic drain pan and some cheap plastic brushes. The kerosene works awesome as a grease and oil cleaner. Then just wash with soap and water after.
cwthemachinist
Excellent thanks for watching buddy 😊👊🏻
Excellent content Glen.......always thinking outside the box👍 & always take the time to respond to the comments!
Top man👊
Nostalgic rc
As always my friend thanks for watching it’s very much appreciated 🤩👊🏻
I know you call it a juiced up Hopper 2 but to me its an alternative ending mad bull, which I also love. Great vid mate.
Reza Darhamy
Excellent 🤩
Thanks for watching buddy 👊🏻
I like this one better than the mad rabbit because of the stadium Blitzer wheels, looks awesome, another great looking build!!! Thank you sir!!!
Awesome Glenn. love it! Love how that driver makes it look a little cartoon like. Reminds me a bit of wacky racers
Andy Saliba
Thanks Andy 😊👊🏻
At ten years old there was no way my 50p a week pocket money would buy a Tamiya r.c hornet or lunchbox i saw in the catalogue. On a visit to my uncles home, on the top of his wardrobe was a grasshopper 2 super G. I remember that the 1 battery took as long to trickle charge as his comodore 64 did to load! On the next visit he gifted it to me and i loved it. later on my best mate had a tamiya monster truck, midnight pumpkin i think. We took the bigger wheels off it & fitted them to the super G. Good times.
My friend , excellent work with the build. The tires, wheels , and decals are most impressive , your driver is simply awesome . Your videos clearly express , dedication , and how passionate you are about the hobby . Dont change a thing the content you bring us is always educational , and entertaining . I wait anxiously for your next video.

Excellent thanks for watching my friend 😊👊🏻
Stay safe buddy
TAMIYA Legends I’m building a tt02-R chassis with a Sand Scorcher body on it. To make a very fast cool beetle 😂
One of your best builds to date. Really interested to see it running.
Wheel decals !!!! Look amazing mate ! Great build I hope you had as much fun as I did ? Nice 1 .
Matt Franks
Thanks Matt 😎
Yes I really enjoyed working on this one 🤩
Thanks for the comprehensive video. Picked up a Super G on Craigslist this week that needs some work for $25 bucks. Learned a lot about it watching this
Love this type of video as I've always been into mixing things up.
Synapse
Excellent 🤩
Thanks for watching my friend 👊🏻
TAMIYA Legends I’m actually working on a extended wheelbased wild dagger. I bought it on eBay but I’m going to add my own style to it. It’ll keep me busy during these dark days. 👊🏼 cheers bro.
Great build looks good.
tamiya frog
Thank you 😊
That stance with those wheels looks rad mate.
Steve Brynan
Excellent 😊
Thanks for watching Steve 👊🏻
I watch your clod buster video. So for Christmas I bought myself the black version.
Wicked build Glenn, driver is the icing on the cake :D
Chris Lee - UK
Thanks Chris, I’m really happy with this one buddy 👊🏻

Very enjoyable video and some nice innovation Glenn. I had no idea of the super g so always nice to learn a little bit of history.
Wade Beaumont
Excellent thanks Wade, glad you liked it buddy 😊👊🏻
Fun build.

Great job mate really like the wild Willy driver and the stance of the car 👍
martin worthington
Excellent 😊👊🏻
Thanks for watching buddy
that looks really cool and cannot wait tosee it driving, did not realize that it was possible to ballrace the motors as well
adrian harrison
Thanks buddy 🤩👊🏻
Yeah the motor bearings are a neat little upgrade 😎
I take it they spin up quicker but do the run more rpm as well
adrian harrison
No I think there just more efficient 🤷🏼♂️
oh that looks great, what cool idea, nice job Buddy keep em coming
mattallica0
Thanks buddy 😊👊🏻
This car looks amazing!
Boy That looks great at only 20:30 into video , those wheels look sweet, glen awesome build there Glen love what you do to the kits , they come up absolutely Superb my friend totally sweet :-)))
Tip : If you buy stuff that comes with foam packing (like servos in plastic boxes) - keep the foam! Using it now to fit magnetic mounts on my Accord body in the right hight, and yesterday I put some thin strips of it on clips my TA02 Porsche body rests on, so it stops clattering and scratching. Had lot of use of it before. Great for stuff as you easily can cut and adapt it :p Body mounting, battery support etc.
The driver is awesome, really turned out nice! I’m a little late on this video.
Eric Wood
Thanks Eric yeah I liked how this one turned out my friend 😎👊🏻
That is so cool! Always thought the Grasshopper needed to be beefed up like that. I look forward to seeing it in action! Very well done! Looks great!
The Houleigan
Thanks you 😊👊🏻
Great job car looks great I like that you put in all the detail 👌
great video my friend i always come to you for my vintage fix👍😊🇬🇧😎👊
Leons rc hobbys
Well I always appreciate it Leon 😊👊🏻
0ne Love Bro DT-01 Legende Too.!!!
Yo 0ne
It sure is 😎👊🏻
Thanks for watching
Hi Glenn, it is pretty crazy project. If you wanted to go deeper, try to put some big onroad tires, lower the chassis, remove front bumper and make formula car from it. I look forward to seeing it ride. Cheers mate.
MilosRCerny Černý
Love it 🤩👊🏻
Thanks for watching buddy
Awesome job. As always. Two thumbs up
Great mash up as always
mitymike 1996
Thanks buddy 😊👊🏻
Really enjoyed seeing this build. The choice of wheels with the writing really make it as well as the driver. I find the hopper 2 body shape really boring, so is good to see it in a new light. I had a blitzer beetle for a while so is cool to see that wheel type being used. Great Job!!!
Nice mash up of ideas Glenn. Are you planning a custom lunchbox build anytime soon? I can only imagine what machinations you would come up with. Can’t wait to see the running video
Jub
Yes I’ve got a plan for one in the future, but everything’s kinda on hold at the moment unfortunately 😞
Thanks for watching buddy 👊🏻
I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DID THAT!!!
Just kidding mate 😂, That turned out bloody good!!!
The decals on the deep dish wheels look smart!
Nice touch with the comic driver too 👌
You might become the new member of Tamiya's design team if you keep this up mate!
Great video 👌🦘🇦🇺

Lol Tamiya wouldn’t have a clue about my channel, I don’t think they no what social media is 😂👊🏻

It looks awesome... really nice project, thanks for sharing this idea, I may be tempted to try it myself 👍
Excellent I’m glad you like it my friend 😊😊😊
Awesome love your custom car great vid
god dam
Thanks for watching buddy 😊👊🏻
Just took it out. Its old school monster truck fun.
I've got and still use my Super G Grasshopper 2 the shell is a bit battered but she still works
Max Messenger
Excellent love that you still have an original my friend 🤩👊🏻
Do you know where I would be able to get a new shell?
Max Messenger
It’s not a rare shell because they re-released the GH2, so should be a few on eBay 🤔🤷🏼♂️
Looks Great.
Darth Nagus
Thanks buddy 😎👊🏻
What a great project glenn nice job brotha 👍
Fantastic video
MUDMAD83
Thanks for watching buddy 😊👊🏻
Nice idea
Gilbert Sanchez
Thanks Gilbert 😊👊🏻
Love it fella but the ftx vantage 2.0 shocks fit straight on also the ball fittings fit aswell handles amazing ballraced mine too keep it up you got me back into tamiya again.
Just love this!
tamiya them selves would be impressed
Mark Hollinshead
Thank you 😊👊🏻
Looks really good
Loving this thing, my wife just did a Mad Bull, and it looks like a fun beast, and I just happen to have a set of lime yellow star dish wheels with Duratrax Banditos. Thinking rather than just rip off your idea, I might have a go at the Grasshopper II "Green Edition Super GXL"
It would be cool if you had some more blue Monroe decals like you put on his helmet to go around the shock caps. Monroe being a shock manufacturing company
Brian Argo
Yeah that logo works so well in a yellow background Brian 👊🏻
Thanks for watching buddy 😊
hi glenn great video as always I use sticky back velcro for items like that driver if that helps anyway many thanks again for the video 👍👌
Patrick Sadler
Bloody hell I never thought of using Velcro Patrick 😬
Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated buddy 👊🏻
Very cool
That was my first hobby grade rc
love this.... i dont love killing other cars for it, but this looks worth it :)
Tom Landolt
Thanks buddy 😊👊🏻
You have inspired me to do something a little similar. No doubt you’ll see it on FB 👍 Looks great btw
Spring change on the back is a good idea as too hard a spring coupled with the geometry and the slotted runners in the body that allows axle twist won't work properly, overall a great modification that should improve driveability no end + looks!:)
James Cunliffe
Thanks James, yeah spot on buddy. I’ve done the running video as I built it and to be fair it ran great, but I’m definitely going to swap the springs now and get it back out to see the difference 👊🏻
@@TAMIYALegends modified theme makes the watching more interesting and extends video content, should do some more modification builds!!!!
day-jar-view history repeat itself here
Hi Glenn,
Great build , when will have the running film up, as I can't wait to see it...👍
I wish they brought out the super g but still want the grasshopper 2.
Brad Kalman
Maybe one day 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
modded mad bull clearly as the grasshopper 2 doesnt have that altered nose mounting, also the grasshopper 2 would have its shell bars painted with x-11
You do a few kyosho cars. I think you would get a huge amount of views by buying kyosho rampage base model. They are about $150 usd. I say this because TTD Rampage pro edition is very popular but on back order and has been. If you get the base model and do a upgrade video for each part to make it turn into the pro version. I know this will be one of the best views videos and it it’s a great truck and one that everyone should have in their collection.
I didn’t mean TTD I meant “the”.
RC AHOLIC
Yeah I’ve had a couple of vintage Kyosho’s on the channel and a few other makes, but they didn’t do great views wise, so decided to become Tamiya only. I may try again at some point though 👊🏻
Thanks for taking the time to leave me your feedback, it’s much appreciated buddy 😊👊🏻
Please do the speed thing again.
Brad Kalman
We’ll see 🤔🤷🏼♂️
Got the cool running video coming up soon Brad 😎🚗💨💨💨
Have you thought about trimming some of the WW wheel to glue and fill the drivers hands? He looks like he's doing a Tommy Cooper.
al1stare
Yeah I definitely need to do that now 👊🏻
Thanks for watching buddy 😊
Awesome...did I miss seeing the steering wheel go in?
Chris Stitt
No I haven’t fitted it yet lol 😂
I really should get it in there 👊🏻
That looks really good! The only way it could be improved (for me) is if the wheels were yellow yellow. I know that doesn’t follow the super G theme but what the heck?
Ministrone
Excellent 🤩👊🏻
Thanks for watching buddy
my first car was the grass hopper 2 with the yellow wheels. i did a similar thing with wheels by fitting monster beetle wheels to it. then i later discovered the mad bull. i dont think i have it anymore but might have to dig it out if i do?
For the future, any future in running a bottoming tap in those shock bottoms to change the thread?
Cheezsoup
Thanks for the tip buddy 👊🏻
If you’re struggling with having to force threaded rod into plastic, you should try a cheap tap set.
Something like this one would be ideal: www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01M4ISP2C/ref=psdc_1939064031_t1_B07QNVG9XK
I have a tap & die set for other stuff, but I do find it comes in very handy for many of my hobbies, including RC.
KingBollock
Excellent thanks for sending me that link, I’ll check it out buddy 😎👊🏻
TAMIYA Legends
It's just occurred to me that you're not in the UK, I sometimes forget because of your accent. I'd have used a .com link if I'd thought about it. They're quite a common gadget, though, so you shouldn't struggle to find one.
I always thought they where wildone wheels and tyres. 😃
It's the Keith lemon of the RC world lol you propper remind me of him but I do think your propper bo
Daz uk
Pmsl 😂 😂😂
It’s been said many times on here 😂👊🏻
Thanks for watching buddy
First time I've ever wanted a Grasshopper! 😆 You didn't fit the steering wheel: Didn't it fit?
Wings 99
Excellent 🤩
Yeah I put the wheel in after I did the running video 😊👊🏻
@@TAMIYALegends I've got this idea to connect the Wild Willy driver's head to the steering servo 😆
Could the driver not be glued to the shell (like the OG grashopper but with glue instead of a screw ) rather than taping on your electrics ? Ok 'nowt on a big ship' but just an idea.
Cheezsoup
Yeah I did look at that, but because of the shapes on the two surface areas, I could get enough area to glue 😬
Thanks for watching buddy 👊🏻
So.... How many turns is the B Zed Motor? I've never seen one before.
I really want to build that!!! 👍👍 I've just looked online, and CAN'T find any DT-01 Chassis parts in the Northern hemisphere! 😞😭 I found Grasshopper II's, and they have a Chassis more like the Rising Fighter...
I specifically like the way the Battery lays slanted across the back, and the rear Shocks lay down on the DT-01.
Not looking good for me.
..... If you want to soften the Rear Springs... Get some from an Axial Wraith. They fit in the long CVAs, and are MUCH softer! 😊
I really like the Tyre lettering as well. 😎

Hey 👋
The BZ is a 23t motor 👊🏻
Thanks for watching my friend
Ahh, so it's like a Speed Tuned, but rebuildable? Should be quick with that gearing! 👍👍
3:48. No worries. I thought it was on my phone screen.
1Stunna2323
Pmsl 😂
That made me chuckle 😂👊🏻
massive over camber and toe in on the front end........
chloe devereaux
Oh yes lol 😂
It’s a strange setup with no adjustment available as standard. But tbf they do run great like that 🚗💨💨💨
20:21 Should I change upright into the shorter to use blitzer wheels? Thx
Glen, where did you find that body? I have been needing one for my mad bull for years. I'm moving to the UK!
That's the same chassis as my modded mad bull,is there a better steering rod than the metal one ?also I fitted after market rear shocks years ago that came with a spacer to put the shock in line ,it seems better than it being on a angle I think.
Ian Lindsay
I know a few guys take the rod off and fit a turnbuckle to take the play away 🤔🤷🏼♂️
Thanks this should workTL-01 Turnbuckle Tie-Rod Set # 53300 over and under .
Which one of the grasshoppers came with the crappy 380 motor ?
David Turner
That was the original 1984 Grasshopper 😂🚗💨💨💨
New it was one of them great build by the way 👍
New it was one of them great build by the way 😜
Tamiya legends - I'm currently restoring a gh super G, where did you manage to get these sticker sheet from? And how much? Cheers 👍
pretty sure my g hopper 2 had those lime green wheels............
chloe devereaux
Excellent you had a Super G 🤩🤩🤩
nah it had friction shox.....
Hey TAMIYA Legends I need some help to sell my Vanquish, because I have no time to drive or make a shelf queen out of it.
