I was thinking the same thing. I don’t know if there’s a deleted scene or whatever that explains him vanishing after the scene Kay rescues Jay from those aliens at Jeeps shop.

In the novelization of the film, they decide to defect from Serleena and ally with K and J in defeating her. In the end, K gives them a job at the MIB post office as a thank you.
