Hi everyone! :) If you'd like to watch the newest Tagelharpa Cello video, with tagelharpa and ritual drum: czcams.com/video/guwTa_UDtbI/video.html
I can not stop thinking about this instrument!! Do you sell them or know where i could buy one perhaps? You are amazing!!!
@@annamathieson1994 Thank you so much Anna! 🖤 Yes, you can find it here: www.camillamargheritaferrari.it/negozio/tagelharpa-cello/?lang=en 🙂
Yes please,..
That would suit my Voice well.. It, s a nice deep soul wrenchin wolf conjuring Sound.. I, m love it 🌸🎶
@Wolfstales M.Chapman thank you, I'm very glad you like it 🖤
everyone who plays this instrument always looks exactly the way I imagine they would
@Endymion766 You should probably check out Lassi Logrén ;) He plays the jouhikko, which is the finnish borther of the tagelharpa. And he is in my humble opinion one of the absolute best musicians on it - if not THE best.

Pale, Goth and Androgynous?
@@EmelieWaldken I just watched that video it was really good
@@EmelieWaldken and he doesn't look like Edward Scissorhands!

I present this like and comment as an offering to the algorithm gods
Praise be!
Ahhhhhhhhhh 🙏
Itadakimasu!
It worked!
I hope the Algorithm doesn’t take an arrow to the knee.
"A lower, deeper, darker tagelharpa."
The hell is a tagelharpa? I must click on this.
Literally me
@@SpiritOfTheOpera Yup
Basically a scandinavian cello used in many great folk- and dark (ancient) songs. Check out Danheim songs on youtube, you will love this kind of music!!
So true...
It's this but smaller
I like how the strings when they all ring produce a sympathetic vibration of the seventh partial, you can hear a minor seventh throughout the entire recording!
are you Borg ?
This is just music language guys. I havent studied music in a long time but I know sort of what they are talking about. Minor 7th is a chord.
@@sashimiturtle You're kind of there.
All tones that we hear produce vibrations. When you look at a tone in a wave spectrometer, you'll see that it's never just one individual pitch but instead a ton of pitches of various volumes.
Sometimes higher sounds ring out louder, enough that you can hear a primary, loudest pitch (the "fundamental") and one or more quieter, higher pitches ("partials"). I was saying that you can pretty clearly hear a high, ringing tone that is different from the three strings that she tuned to, which sounds like a minor seventh.
If you ever wanted to know more about this you should look up the overtone series.
Could you say that again but in english please?
@@blazingmaniac8374 Sometimes big wiggly air makes little wiggly air happen, too.
This sounds incredible!
Wow, thank you so much Peter!!
Hello Peter, your music is great.
I can't like this comment
Sound like something from The Witcher
Yeah, because it sounds like a hurdy-gurdy
Toss a coin to your Witcher~
@@hegitheone370 ohh yeah it kinda does
Or perhaps something that belongs in Conan the barbarian
Had to scroll too far for this
I feel like I'm a viking going to England to avenge King Ragnar.
How the piggies will grunt....
Drop in for a hot drink while you're over and do me a favour, don't bother taking the royals alive
@@Raw774 I wanna change my mind considering the situation in UK right now.
Although Vikings is a very enjoyable show, I really love it! That doesn't happened really....sadly Vikings went farest from history, as seasons came.
Lord Uhtred is retired.
Long live Richard Sharpe.
As a former Baroque Cellist, let me say this: WOW...how beautiful are the sounds! Must be very fun/satisfying to play this instrument.
Thank you so much, I'm happy you like it! 🖤 And many compliments for your Baroque Cellist skills, that I envy a lot! 🙂
Gut gives you an appreciation for older raspier sounds.
Modern instruments sound so sterile to me these days.
All it needs is a Mongolian throat singing ensemble!
It's not a Morin Khuur...
@@creamwobbly guttural singing was part of the Viking culture, it didn't come from Mongols tho
Yes! Collab with Batzorig Vaanchig or the Hu would be fantastic
A monk choir would also be incredible 😍
Mongolian??? Mate you need norwegian folk song
My cat heard this and left the room. When she came back, she was wearing viking war paint (complete with small shield & battle axe) and tried to hack me into tiny pieces.
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
I assume you're new to cat having, because this isn't an unusual thing
Sounds like something a pirate bard would play.
The tagelharpa in particular is from scandinavian culture, but similarly bassy antiquarian instruments exist pretty widespread.
@@TheCryptidman I didn't know it was a scandinavian instrument. That's really cool. I always love learning about different instruments from different cultures.
Now you got me thinking of the politically correct pirate shanty from Key & Peele. lol
Outstanding sound!!! the greek sign behind you saying "Know thyself" deep and hard to try to live with this ...
Thank you! Yes, sometimes I need to remind that to me... :)

Vanity
Yeah, why is she so cool looking.
@Ken Clarke is it simp? Really or is it just true?
This looks like the kind of instrument you have to build yourself.
I need 10 hours version of this. Everything here is morbidly beautiful.
Thank you! 🖤
Oh! How the wondrous vibration of the stringed instrument can awaken parts of the spirit which had been long forgotten. .❤️
That sounds so Viking! Love it! Also love the player's style, to be honest! :D I'll jump to the next video, I need to hear more of that!
Thank you! 🖤
I'm a swedish musician and music teacher, and I've never heard of this instrument. Anyways, the word Tagelharpa is swedish for "horsehair harp". Tagel is the hair used for bows.
it is an ancient Scandinavian instrument. Check out Anders Norudde.I'm not sure but I think the strings are also of horsehair. Mongolian horsehead fiddles for example have horsehair strings as well.
I love this, expanding our ancestral musical style without going too far
This was beautiful! I love the range it has throughout this with just using 3 cords. Just heavenly
Been playing cello since I as 10 years old and seeing an instrument like this that creates this kind of sound is awesome!
Thank you so much! :D 🖤
There's just something amazing about the talharpa. Its sound seems to reverberate through my entire body when I listen to it, I can't quite describe it any better than that
Well, this is pretty stunning! Thank you for sharing your work!
Thanks to you, I'm happy you liked it! 🖤
Now all we need is a big scene with Vikings getting ready for war
Edward Sissorhands plays the standards
Clicked on the wrong video by mistake and here I am...liked and subbed. This instrument has an amazing sound!
I love how this sounds..fantastic
I think the tacit competition of the "bass talharpа of the year" will start soon )
This is such a cool sounding instrument.
Thank you Zachary! 🖤
Impressed! Love it❤️
Uouuuuu! Absolutely amazing, so different! Thanks for sharing!👏👏👏👏
Thanks to you, I'm happy you like it! 🖤
I aspire to achieve this aesthetic
It is maybe the most primitive musical instrument I have seen, but at the same time produces maybe the most impressive tune I can expect from an instrument. Really interesting
Thank you so much Akyol, your words are truly priceless to me! They couldn't make me happier. Thank you for real! 🖤
Love the hammered dulcimer being built in the background
Beautiful, haunting sound. The aesthetics are lovely.
Thank you so much! 🖤 I am really glad that you liked it! :)
This is why aliens didn't terminated mankind. We have many excelent stuff poping up. Please humans. Continue!!!!
Yorgan, thank you for your words: they means so much to us! Really glad you like it, thank you!
When the aliens hear rap mankind will surely be terminated.
Yorgan Yog literally I think we’re being watched too I think the glass comes when all of us fall into the pollute everything drive your car to Starbucks bs life
@@soslothful Rap has some deeply poetic stuff in it if you listen to the right stuff, stop this musical elitism, someone with no exposure to norse styled old music could say this beautiful arrangement on an ancient instrument is just "trashy noise" and we wpuld be angry at such an uncultured statement wouldn't we. This is a very foolish way to look at the world, there is quality and art in all ages and times, all we need to do is look for the meaningful and stay away from the trivial.
@@Despotic_Waffle First you'd need to support your contention rap is poetic and that this is a point of merit. I listen to some Norse music and quite like it. Were someone else call it "trashy noise" I would not be angry at all. Why would I? It is just one's opinion. Whether music, food or the like, differences of opinion do not anger me. It is hardly "elitism" to dislike rap or any other genre of music.
Straight up that is like Viking music seriously reminds me of that TV show
Because Wardruna is using the Tagelharpa as well.
i love everything about this
I purchased one of these from C.M. Ferrari and it is an absolute work of art both musically and artistically. I get many comments on how beautiful it is displayed on my shelf. Then I take it down and play a little bit for them and they're blown away by the haunting sound it makes.
Such a beautifully crafted instrument.
Thank you so much @MartinThePanda ! 🖤 I just couldn't be more glad to read your words, I am truly so happy that you like your tagelharpa.
Thank you for this beautiful gift! 🖤
Finally, the CZcams algorithm eventually realized from my Wintergatan subscription that I might like unusual instruments. It's about time.
Awesome deep sound and performance !
I like the Greek quote behind you, means 'Be a knowledge of yourself' but with the deepest of meaning ...
Thank you! I'm glad you also like it, it is a reminder I need to read sometimes... :)
@@ebanisteria.musicale Prego !

Thank you so much! 🖤 I am really glad that you liked it!
Beautiful music and you too.
The second I heard this beauty of darkness instrument I looked where to get one and my bank account is scared.
What a beast! And it sounds good and the player is good too. Not often you hear that with this instrument.
Thank you so much! :D
Gorgeous
This is gorgeous! Thank you. Happy New Year.
Thanks to you! And happy new year! :D
Sounds like “fehu” from Wardruna.
I'd like to see a Bach piece played on this cello
That looks so fun!
I love how YT keeps recommending me these medieval instruments. And each time I'm getting pulled deeper and deeper into them
listening to this makes me feel like im having an asthma attack
I have bumps of goose in places I didn’t even know about
My anterior serratus is alight!
*Goosebumps, and yes I agree!
I absolutely love this.
I think I’m in love 😍
I first thought the thumbnail was Edward Scissorhands no joke
ΓΝΩΘΙ ΣΑΥΤΟΝ = 'Know yourself' in ancient Greek.
I've never seen this kind of cello before, absolutely beautiful! What a vibe!
It's kind of tagelharpa :) Thank you so much! 🖤
Subscribed! You don't realize how from such simplicity this could be an Epic soundtrack...my mind was actually in a far away land where people weren't scared of anything
It only plays in the key of viking... approved
Sounds awesome
Thank you!! :) In this video, I used D - D - A!
It's such a beautiful instrument.
fantastic sound !
I got a horsehead fiddle that could take a bow like that. Is it homemade?
it is possible to construct at homeq
Oh man, I have to get one of these. How is tuning done? Turning the pegs? I assume the strings stretch a lot over time and are super susceptible to humidity and temperature changes?
Yes, exactly, you can adjust the tuning turning the pegs, as a violin; actually the strings, being made of horsehair, are not elastic and after the adjustment period don't stretch more, but the whole instrument itself, as all the acoustic entirely woodmade instruments, is sensitive to humidity and temperature changes and responds to them growing or decreasing the tuning. It will always be a little sensitive to environmental conditions but with the time and use, it becomes more and more stable :)
@@ebanisteria.musicale Is each string the same number of hair strands? I have more questions but they are technical. Something I could probably google like, how to use a hank to twist into strings. I considered using nylon strings but that just doesn't sit well with me. Musician friends keep trying to get me to use metal guitar tuning hardware as well but it just looks better in wood. =] Thank you for the inspirational video!
@@ebanisteria.musicale where did you get this
Very cool, magnificent sound
I love this sound.
All thats missing here is two Ravens flanking your sides
Wow, thank you!!
I prefer his old stuff from back when he still had scissor hands. He used to really shred.
A tergo lupi has really made me feel a lot of new feelings I didn't know existed thanks to your magnificent playing. Keep it up! Much love from Greece!
Thanks so much to you for these wonderful words! I am just so happy that you like our music 🖤
Thank you so, so much! 🖤
Awesome! 🥰
Could you do a cover of Radiohead’s burn the witch
Radiohead? Pentangle, surely.
how much are the thickness of the ropes
So cool. Now I have to have one of these.
your vibes are immaculate
I’ve been trying to search for this instrument ever since watching Viking’s but all my searches just came up with the hardanger fiddle.
Hi Odinson! Wll, this is a special model of tagelharpa, it is lower and bigger than the "standard" one; maybe this can interest you, I leave here our other channel where we upload only the music and, you'll find the "normal" tagelharpa :) czcams.com/video/x-oe_BM00oY/video.html
tagelharpa - in other name "the witcher 3 soundtrack thing"
Awesome!
Beautiful
YT ALGORITM STRIKES AGAIN !
Great witch look :)
This sounds much higher than a normal Tagelharpa.
I was thinking that
Super instrument.... Merci .
Nico.
CZcams's algorithm just coughed this up at me and I'm so glad. Haunting and beautiful. I'd love to hear longer pieces and accompaniment. Marvelous music.
Thank you so much Jeremy! 🖤 If it can interest you, we have also a channel with our music, longer and arranged :) : czcams.com/video/17V_2qt5Ylk/video.html

Trust me, i know what'm talking about.
There's a really nice bit in the middle of this clip. Really nice.
