      @@sashimiturtle You're kind of there.
      All tones that we hear produce vibrations. When you look at a tone in a wave spectrometer, you'll see that it's never just one individual pitch but instead a ton of pitches of various volumes.
      Sometimes higher sounds ring out louder, enough that you can hear a primary, loudest pitch (the "fundamental") and one or more quieter, higher pitches ("partials"). I was saying that you can pretty clearly hear a high, ringing tone that is different from the three strings that she tuned to, which sounds like a minor seventh.
      If you ever wanted to know more about this you should look up the overtone series.

    • @ebanisteria.musicale
      @ebanisteria.musicale  Před 4 lety +3

      Yes, exactly, you can adjust the tuning turning the pegs, as a violin; actually the strings, being made of horsehair, are not elastic and after the adjustment period don't stretch more, but the whole instrument itself, as all the acoustic entirely woodmade instruments, is sensitive to humidity and temperature changes and responds to them growing or decreasing the tuning. It will always be a little sensitive to environmental conditions but with the time and use, it becomes more and more stable :)

      @@ebanisteria.musicale Is each string the same number of hair strands? I have more questions but they are technical. Something I could probably google like, how to use a hank to twist into strings. I considered using nylon strings but that just doesn't sit well with me. Musician friends keep trying to get me to use metal guitar tuning hardware as well but it just looks better in wood. =] Thank you for the inspirational video!

      Hi Odinson! Wll, this is a special model of tagelharpa, it is lower and bigger than the "standard" one; maybe this can interest you, I leave here our other channel where we upload only the music and, you'll find the "normal" tagelharpa :) czcams.com/video/x-oe_BM00oY/video.html
