    I really enjoyed watching this. Your reaction was authentic. I was skeptical as well hearing about it removing like a nail polish. I have a question though do you have to use the base coat for it to soak off that easily? Most “regular nail polish” don’t really say base coat is needed. I would be interested in your thoughts on this. ❤

    Sorcery! I’m really curious if the results would be this good with Gelish. I’ve always loved painting my own nails, but I’m the worst at keeping my hands still while waiting for regular nail polish to dry. It was frustrating and felt like a huge waste of time and money, so I completely quit painting my nails. About 6 years ago, I had a professional manicure done with Gel Polish, and fell in love! I could finally achieve that gorgeous glossy finish that I so desperately wanted! I immediately did some research and bought the necessary equipment so I could do my own Gel mani at home. I’m not a licensed nail tech, just someone who loves doing my own nails. Unfortunately my Gel Polish options are limited without a nail tech license.

      Hi Lindsy, I did the same as you in September when for the first time ever I had a gel polish done for my daughter’s wedding. I absolutely loved the long lasting shine and no chips! I researched and learned about Shellac and thankfully found Anna and MSL, who I’m in love with for their knowledge and skill and advice. Which gel brands are you using? I’ve stuck to Shellac. Dazzle Dry isn’t an option for me in Canada but this looks very hopeful. If only I could find it here!

    Hello, I love your videos! I've learned a lot from you. I googled for the best non-toxic gel polish, and this product came up. So i read reviews and watched videos and purchased a kit. I'm not a scientist, but perhaps it's a Demi-gel. Cause ZOYA NM Naked Gelie is a Demi-gel, and it removes much like this Green Flash gel polish. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Just my thoughts! Happy Polishing!! 💅🏼

    How would you compare this to Dazzle Dry in terms of staying power, ease of use, and damage potential to the nail? I’ve been experimenting with using chameleon flakes (instead of color) sandwiched been base coat and top coat of DD. I want iridescent rainbow sparkles to make it worth it for me to paint my nails and DD is lacking in that department IMO. Would using chameleon flakes instead of color work with the green flash system too?
    I loved watching your reaction to the green flash removal! So funny! (And cute ☺️)

  • @fiveandfour
    @fiveandfour Před 2 lety +2

    Experiment idea: when you test on MSL, maybe do one hand using their recommended remover before the base coat and on the other, do what you did with your manicure. I’m just wondering if the extra scrubbing to remove the base coat is related to the oils on the nails (or lack thereof) that could be alleviated by following their recommended first step. Thanks for all of your educative videos - they are super useful.

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi there! I don’t think so. I’ve seen other people comment with the same issue. Not a big deal at all though. The base coat was not difficult to remove by scrubbing. I would rather scrub the base coat with a pad than have chipped gel polish (which can cause more damage)

Especially if I want to do some hail art, can I just wipe off my uncured nail art with alcohol and do it again? Hi there, been doing a lot of research myself. If you know what chemical in gel you are allergic to, that would make it much easier to know if green flash would work for you. Most gel polish allergies are for acrylates specifically Hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) or hydroxypropyl methacrylate (HPMA). The Green Flash website has the gel ingredients listed, and from what I can see they aren't using those chemicals, and they claim to be HEMA free. It might be worth it to try it out. I've seen comments on reddit about people who are allergic to gels who have great success with green flash. Maybe just get a base coat first and test it on one nail? A safer way is to get tested for acrylate allergic at a dermatologist or allergist but if you are somewhere like the US that could cost you alot. So perhaps doing a skin or single nail test with one of their products would give you an answer before you spend too much on a whole bunch of products. Best of luck!

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  Před rokem

      Sadly with these products the situation is not as black and white. She might not react to the base coat, but she might react to the color or the top coat. Or she might not react to any of it for a while but then after 2-3 applications she might.
      Once allergic (overexposed really) to certain ingredients the body often reacts to similar ingredients but it takes a while to "catch on"

      This is just a decoration, gels should never be used for strength really. Brittle nails should be treated with jojoba soaks and generally cared for.
      Gel only covers the damage and weakness and causes more damage and weakness.
      Treat this as quick dry, long lasting nail polish.

I have never used gels and I’m mindful of taking care of the condition of my nails, also don’t like to go to the salon and like to change my colour every week. What I do notice is nail polish in pale nude colours seem to kind of dull and look dirty after 5 or so days, did this product do that on the pale colour?
    I am being gifted this from a friend who bought it but found it didn’t work for her, she said it didn’t seem to dry properly.

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  Před 2 lety +2

      Full cure means curing the coating for the full recommend time. That depends on the lamp used. They carry 2 lamps. One takes longer to cure each coat.
      2-4 minutes is a strange recommendation. Normally companies know how long each coat cures because they tested it in the lab (you can’t tell if the product is cured properly with a naked eye as it hardens at about 55% cure, it needs to be cured to 90% or so to avoid allergies and have a lasting wear).

      It's the gel polish formula that makes it so easy to remove. Not the remover. I doubt if the remover worked with other lines.

    Which is the best between manucurist and Zoya gelie-cure? Zoya starts peeling after one or two day in my experience.

      Zoya Gelicure peeled on me too. This lasted better. But it depends why yours peeled.

      I don't know what I am doing wrong but I can't get the nail polish not to peel off after a few days, especially if I wash dishes or something like that. I watch for the Gelie getting under the free edge at the upper corners of the nails. It’s disappointing.

    🤔 Interesting that the remover includes two of the standard thinner ingredients… #Intrigued

      They are common solvents in nail polishes. Usually non acetone nail polish removers contain these ingredients.

    Why couldn't you wait to get the product off you nails? Did it feel strange?

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  Před rokem +3

      Hi Annie! Well, it feels a bit rubbery just like any other gel polish. So that's not a big problem but I think (again, just like any other gel polish) I think the product raises the moisture level in the nail and my nails feel a bit more flexible. After I take it off they become harder again so it's not damage nor its permanent.
      I also don't like my nails grown out, the length and the gap starts to bother me. Ideally I like my nails done once a week.

    I've watched a few of your manucurist videos. And I know that you are a professional and it looks good. But I've seen so many videos of people trying it and it completely fails in the application to the point where people wonder if this product is a scam. It's marketed towards normal people doing at home manicures. I am very interested but I'm also very confused about the range of reviews.

      I feel the same. Although I can make this product work I don't usually recommend it for DIYers because I know that an average person will have issues with application and curing.

    Saw this brand, then saw that they’re suggesting their 36w lamp is cutting the curing time in half over their 18w lamp as if that’s how curing works. No thanks I’ll give this brand a hard pass

    Save your money for a normal nail polish. This product is very hard to apply, as it dries really fast, leaving streaks or bumps behind. In addition, no matter how thin the layers, it never seems to set/cure and it peels off or chips after HOURS, not even 1 day lasting. You are better off with a regular nail polish, like OPI or Essie from the drugstore. With proper application they can last for days...way longer than manucurist green flash. very disappointed.

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Thank you for your feedback and sharing your experience! As you can see the product lasted on me and on the people I tested it on as advertised, 10 days.
      I think the benefit of this product is quick dry, 1 minute. After it’s cured people can use their hands unlike regular polish that takes at least 20 minutes to dry.
      Which lamp have you used to cure this product. I think they have 2.
