I could be wrong but I believe they come in them. Perhaps only in the Super HET, I forget.

The US army has thousands of HETS. It's definitely customized and nice but a very common vehicle. I believe it's a Oshkosh if I remember correctly. Been 13 years since I have been in one. It's got the Detroit power screaming away

I am not personally a mechanic or into heavy equipment; but I sure do like knowing and seeing people who are. I am really impressed with the job all of you did. You said this one went easier than other times. Well, in my opinion, to be able to have both easy victories and not so easy victories, you first must have some know how in what you are attempting. There is no question in my mind that you all have some serious know how. Again, I am impressed.

Although there's a good reason to make the brakes lock up when you're winching something to you, sometimes you need to use it to winch yourself, so a safety bypass is a good idea, something that you have to deliberately set each time.
Yeah I agree, it makes sure of no human error. And with the size of their equipment they need to be safe!

Brings back memories. 20 or so years ago I was the heavy equipment mechanic at a construction co. we had 4 of those dozers. bought from a auction, I spent about 6 months going through everything on them Trans, final drives, undercarriges and engines. Got all 4 up and working, making $$$

Just a heads up...... dragging the dozer at that speed was a MEGA mistake....
Sitting for 26 years.... speed dragging it, ground all the beari g into dust...ground up all the bolts on the tracks... took off, I chest from the iron wheels holding the tracks on..
That, beast of a dozer....with zero computoer crap....is a raw gem. They need to break it down I to bolts, and rebuild it...
Top to bottom......it will pay for its self in months.....
@@franksmith3602 I dont know man most of those machines had oil bath bearings, even a little oil in the bath would get it off the mountain, without burning up. Furthermore if the bearing got that cooked they would lock the track up, and that did not happen.

@@goodbyemr.anderson5065 I'm agreeing with you. You don't want to pull them more than what, 7-10 mph? But those bearings are fine after a pull like that as long as they are getting oil. I've drug a couple of small dozers out of places and as long as they have oil they're fine. Hydrostatic stuff is a totally different matter but that tech came at least a couple decades after this thing was built.

I've ran one of these d8 cats and the camera doesn't really show how big it really is. Its heavy about 80,000 lbs got a 20 foot blade tractor is mabey 16 feet long yep its a big one

The green one is only high clearance
Matts can do a lot more off road than speaks…but sparks can winch/lift/tow a lot more. Matts is designed for smaller vehicles, sparks is designed for massive vehicles
