So much respect for him talking about it openly
Actually once you talk about it openly it can no longer hold you back so it is actually in fact better for him to speak up openly
It’s difficult talking about it because deep down you don’t want to accept it exists
@@felix_remmie6048 or that people want to avoid the stigma that is associated with mental illness that's why they avoid talking about it
The worst thing you can do when battling mental issues is keep it a secret
Amen. I learned this the hard way. Best thing you can do is talk about it and most will relate because we are all dealing with something..
@The Ethical Pixel Agreed
It is bro💯
Thats true bro
Yeah And I’ve done that before. It is for sure the worst
Good man right here.
everyone saying he's soft has never had a panic attack and doesnt know anything about it
True
Salim El Sabaa No one’s saying that. The comments are supportive as hell. Stop making up a narrative for attention.
K wayyy worse than an asthma attack..
Joey mp4 I don’t mean this in a rude way, but that’s not true. I am both asthmatic and suffer from an anxiety disorder. I fully agree that panic attacks are terrible, and can make you feel like you’re having a heart attack, but they aren’t life-threatening. Asthma attacks can actually kill you.
Terrifying
Can result in PTSD
I went through anxiety and depression for a few years. It’s hell on earth. You have to have it to understand
I suffered abuse from my mom, oldest brother, and some other "family members" so I've been had depression for awhile, i just turned 17 too
Exactly. Everyone says they understand you and claim they’ve been through it, but they haven’t. Some people have it more than others. You can never truly understand someone’s anxiety unless you’ve experienced it on the same level as them.
lassseerrr yah Damn man wish you the best. If you’re still being abused try to separate yourself from them
lassseerrr yah i hope You Are ok and God bless you. I hope You can overcome depression.
lassseerrr yah sorry to hear that. Stay strong! You will get better!
I have depression and anxiety and also play basketball. Basketball is way for me to combat it without drugs. Basketball is a blessing and a curse. Imagine his anxiety before games especially at that level, I struggle before games because of anxiety, but I’m not performing in front of thousands of people and millions on TV. Also with all the media scrutiny. I have a new level of respect for K love stay strong my brotha RESPECT ✊🏽
Your situation was pretty similar to mine. I had anxiety before every Rec basketball game last season. I had previously played for 10 straight years in this league from 3rd to 12th grade. I had to quit my senior year because it was just too much to handle
for me... Surfing is my way to combat anxiety... just being in the ocean and scaling wave after wave getting that adrenaline after every ride helps me manage my anxiety as i get back to my regular office work...
Shaq Attack so if I have depression and anxiety I have an mental illness??
@@yourpapiyerr5495 technically yes, but it's a lot more common than you think and not something you should be overly concerned about
Daniel Cindea Well dude I hope you find a new outlet. Maybe if you can’t play anymore you should at least talk to someone about how you feel. That helps a ton maybe like a therapist but, I understand how it may be difficult to find one that you can relate to. Keep searching man it’s worth it. Hope your doing well.
Always loved you but now I have a whole new level of respect for you
Brandon Dial lol “loved”. Good pun 😂.
Panic attacks and anxiety attacks are the worst experiences I ever had in my life. Luckily I'm finally at a point in my life where it's less frequent but I remember a time where I would have an attack nearly every day. Thank you Kevin for being so open about your battles. You give us all courage to not be ashamed and get some help to deal with our individual wars.

It was 40 years ago when I had my first panic attack. When I found out what it was I would tell people about it and they acted like I was from a different planet.
How r u doing now
How did you overcome it...
@@shekharchauhan9682 I'm recovering from panic disorder right now and I'm doing it by retraining my brain- because the alternative is being put on meds for the rest of your life. The book and app "DARE" has given me every tool I need to beat this condition.
Being someone who’s struggled with anxiety my whole life it’s great to see these high profile people come out and start to break down that stigma that is still very prevalent today. Never be afraid to ask for help.
@nickbrowne3286
How‘d you overcome ?
What a man. Those who are sick need a doctor. Words of the Christ. Good for you for not being ashamed to tell the truth. Too many folks will suffer in silence. Life lessons learned😗
Respect from Germany!
K.Love not soft he has 10+ years in the NBA. Established All-Star and Double Double threat. Most ppl cant survive in the Nba or arnt even in the NBA after 3 years.
If anything, he's fuckin tough as nails to be able to do all that while having mentioned issues. People labeling others 'soft' when talking about mental health issues have no idea what they are talking about.
He describes exactly how my panic attacks used to happen. I would go to bed start to close my eyes and suddenly I was lost and my heart would start racing my mind telling its time to die my body feeling it.... I would run around in the middle of the night not knowing where to go until it has receded... These symptoms slowly slowly started to decrease the intensity with which it was happening slowly became weaker and weaker as My meditation was getting deeper and deeper. Yes when I met my master he explained me there is a difference and a distance between what YOU are and your body between your mind and YOU! That consciousness can't be touched by anything! Today all my panic attacks are gone and I see that they were in some kind of a cycle... Coming and going!
when u say master do u mean therapist or a friend ?
I also battle Anxiety/Depression. It can be rough. I have a ton of respect for Kevin Love/Demar Derozan for allowing themselves to be vulnerable in front of the world.
Did it cure?
I have mad respect for Kevin Love.
#salutetogreatness ✊🏾
Nothing but Respect for him.
Positive Vibes.
RESPECT 👍👍👍🐐
This brings tears to my eyes. Sharing this experience can be life saving for others. Much respect.
I’ve been battling those feelings of anxiety and depression more so as of lately and listening to you Kevin opened up my eyes to how I’ve been suppressing the feelings and telling my self to “get over it” because that’s how I was raised to “suck it up”. But I can now release that debate in my head and actually get help by talking to someone about it because it’s been weighing heavily on me and listening to you Just gave me a perspective that I needed. I say all that to say this, thank you Kevin for everything you said in this video which has just had a huge impact on my life by giving me some confidence to speak up about it!
@ Hope youve gotten better family, Ive been through depression and got through it after a month and a half it really is a different experience for everybody.

I can totally relate. People don't believe you when you try to explain how awful are those feelings. And that makes everything a lot worse. I don't want people to understand me. I only wish people believed me
Thanks Kevin , I needed this . Nobody knows how it feels to have bad anxiety
I relate to this a lot.
I'm sorry your going through this 😌 but have you tried mircodosing shrooms? it helped my 2 years of depression and mental illness. Follow the handle 👆 on Instagram for better information
Success is not immune to depression.
dzoan duong great line
I've had several panic attacks now, and it truly does feel like you're having a heart attack and are on the brink of death. I wouldn't wish that feeling on my worst enemy. Thank you Kevin for sharing your story and encouraging others to get help.
same thing thanks for sharing
His last name is LOVE❤ for a reason.

Always fighting and never giving up! I WILL NEVER FORGET THIS MAN!
Respect K. Love!
respect for having to speak about these things. I can really relate to what he has been saying since I experienced a similar experience. THANKS LOVE.
I just sent my doctor a message about my anxiety issues. I had my panic attack maybe a month ago and I still don't feel great. Nonetheless, I don't think it's a coincidence that this video popped up on my news feed as it DID make me feel a little bit better. Thanks for sharing Kevin and GO CAVS!
Great stuff from Kevin, it's pretty awesome for him to share his story and to encourage others that they're not alone with this kind of struggle.
Cleveland making the playoffs, respect for Kevin.
Doubt it, but much respect for Kev
Maybe not but hella respect to Kevin Love
Their PG pickup Sexton is a great pickup he can ball and is great LeBron could have resigned lol

So much respect for KL. As someone who has suffered with anxiety and panic attacks for over 10 years, I just want to say thank you for describing exactly how I've been feeling all this time. You're a class act and inspiration.
I really appreciate Kevin Love opening about his mental health struggles. It definitely helped me understand that’s it’s okay to open up about it and it’s a sign of strength. Thank you
Nothing but love for this man.
Love this! I have dealt with a lot of really difficult mental issues from a neuro illness I have. Its good he's talking about it.
Wow Kevin Love. You helped me find peace. Thank you with all my heart. I am not alone!
Huge respect to you to talk openly about this , you deserve all the best

Kevin love man I just had my first panick attack and now the anxiety is there man thank you for everything man I appreciate you
Kevin, helping others, your bravery- that´s truly a real man!
Thank you Kevin! Being a recovered addict, i search everyday for motivation like this! Never stop you are inspiration to the world!
Thank you for this Kevin
Kevin Love......thank you thank you thank you. From someone in Washington state who has suffered my entire adult life. The stigma is real. I’m not ashamed, I suffer from depression and anxiety and I can make it through this.
Support is everything...we all need it. Kevin Love you are a wonderful human.
Thank you. Thank you for bringing the struggle of anxiety, depression and panic attacks out in the open. God bless you.
I deal with chronic panic attacks, borderline agoraphobia at times. It’s next to impossible to explain though to people who have never experienced it. It’s incredible how much Kevin describes not only panic but his anxiety as well, he does it perfectly. Stay strong Kevin, I know I’m not quitting.
Much respect for him opening up about this It helps a lot of people out there. People with anxiety attacks aren’t weak it’s actually is a very tough thing to deal with especially if you’ve never had it before it can be crippling. God bless anyone out there going dealing with it.
As someone who battles a touch of depression, I really appreciate him coming forward and raise awareness. Thank you, KLove.
I wasn't a fan of you after you left Minnesota, but this is so much bigger than basketball and it makes me respect you boundlessly. NBA players have a platform from which to help others, and I'm overjoyed every time someone does that.
amazing, much respect for Kevin
Dear Kevin Love, Thank you with all my heart❤️
Thanks for talking about mental health. Very important and this will be eye opening to many of people
Can't believe K-Love is going through this. Give this man respect.
Such a beautiful man 😔
I’m a psychiatry resident and it can get absolutely gutting. Mental health is truly a delicate thing everyone should be comfortable talking about
Guys like this deserve the money he makes, good ball player, and he helps thousands of people with mental issues be able to talk about what's going on (especially coming from an older generation where ALOT of people would say ya soft) people are going to get more help because of Kevin Love
Really needed this.
It’s honestly helped me out talking to this girl I’ve known for 5 years she’s my best friend and lover and talking and being more open up to her and my mom as really helped me lately
I respect him for that.most people that are deslint with messed up stuff don’t like opening up about it
Really wanna give this man a hug
So much respect man!
Thank you for sharing your story, I have Anxiety and Depression and I am working through it day by day😀
Jesus loves you;❤️
Thanks for doing this Kevin
Nothing but respect for this dude
I’ve recently dealt with health anxiety and it is no joke but now I can confidently say that I have completely recovered and am not moving forward with my life
I'm sorry your going through this 😌 but have you tried mircodosing shrooms? it helped my 2 years of depression and mental illness. Follow the handle 👆 on Instagram for better information
I already liked Kevin as a player before but I also like him as a human being. I can totally relate to his explanation of his first panic attack with the sole exception that my leg shaking like crazy uncontrollably for several minutes. Never happened to me before and it fundamentally changed me. It's been 7 long years of anxiety since then and I genuinely miss the days before it. I've tried to explain it to my parents multiple times but they don't seem to get it. Good for them though, I wouldn't wish this to anyone.
Respect. Someone had to say this.
Such an eye opening moment to address the idea of "being soft" on a global stage. Kevin was spot on for calling this out as a "TIRED" approach to addressing someone who bravely opens up about mental health issues.
Anxiety has gotten worse as technology and social media have gotten more relevant. Everything these players do is under scrutiny and they never gain anything positive from it. You wonder why these players don’t like the media, Twitter, etc.
Blast Tv not just players, everybody that has a social media account is immune to scrutiny
I'm suffering anxiety and panic attacks. I'm really struggling right now. This is a great video. I'm in therapy and getting help. I go to work and try my best. People like this really help folk like me.
Well done.
this man is a blessing. thank you Kevin.
So much respect K-love! Deconstructing masculinity and exposing mental health issues is true courage.
Kevin is a great player. No matter what other people think of you. I am always your fan since you were in Minnesota.
Thank you for your honesty and your truth💕💕💕💕💯💯💯💯
It is ridiculous just how isolated I feel when I am in my most lowest struggling with depression. I constantly forget that there are other people who go through the same so Love, DeRozan and other famous people speaking out is truly helpful.
Your a good lad Kevin. You will battle the decease and come out on top. Your very humble individual I myself sometimes struggle with mental stress. Is not easy, but you are a winner take your time and you will come around. Take care warrior.
God Bless K Love, great player and a great guy.
Kevin love you the men. Respect and god bless.
God Bless him and his family God Bless everybody with mental illness and their families🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️❤️

This video has definitely helped me. I had my first panic attack at age 30 about 9 months ago. It was absolutely terrifying and I too felt like I was going to die. I pulled over to the side of the road and ended up taking an ambulance to the hospital because I thought I was having a stroke/heart attack.
KUDOS Kevin Love! That was BRAVE!!..
Much respect. Best of luck
I feel you kev . Feel sorry to hear that.
