Wow, I've watched a lot of videos since getting my Go and this is the best! Lots of thoughtful stuff no one else even thinks of. Like re-thinking your grip vs. the Deck and the possibility of rounded controller options in future. Or the wheel locked fast scroll. Also gotta say your voice is incredibly listenable. Plus, instead of automatically skipping your Ugreen ad I actually enjoyed it. That's a first in known human history for me, lol. Thanks!

Steam has good frequent support because it has only one device to manage. Lenovo back-end support and updates aren’t that frequent because they have a plethora of consumer / business products to support. You won’t get that much support from Lenovo. I would say if you want better support go for deck.

I just watched your most recent Rog Ally video yesterday. I was releaved to hear your opinion, mentioning your Ally's SD card has been stable since you sent it in, because I just sent my Ally in to have the SD Card fixed and was wondering a similar thing. This friday, I just purchased my Legion Go and was wondering when you were going to release a video on it, because in my opinion, you come with a balanced perspective on these handhelds, and I wanted to know what I was getting into before my unit arrived via mail.
I woke up this morning and was pleased to see this video released! Very refreshing. You made some great points on what should be Lenovo's next areas of focus when it comes to updates. Cant wait to see more from you as you get more familiar with the unit.

I'm not a full-pledged gamer, but I've been recently indulging myself in the world of handheld PC gaming consoles. From what I have seen so far, I am definitely allured with the Legion Go. The ROG Ally and OLED Steam Deck are also good, but I do have to choose the Go simply because the screen is fairly portable despite being a bit larger and the fact its controllers can be like joycons. That's so cool! 🔥

Nice concise review! Basically all that needs to be said was said. Lenovo seems pretty committed and transparent about upcoming updates so that's a plus. I think fps mode is cool, but I actually think there is a lack of buttons... Games like fallout have a tough time assigning buttons correctly. One thing I'd love to see is custom game button profiles that automatically get applied when the game launches.

My big problem with Lenovo is their inability to continue to provide updates and optimizations for other devices in the past, anyone who has bought a Lenovo tablet knows what I mean, maybe they will be forced to do so with this device but thus far I'm happy with my Steam deck and the continued support and optimizations Valve provide.

I would be interested in seeing a comparison (joycons / controllers on and off the Lenovo) between the Lenovo Legion Go and an iPad Pro 11 inch. Yes, the Lenovo is a handheld gaming machine, but could it replace my iPad in uses like, emails, web-browsing, Clash of Clans, Photo and Video editing, Social Media browsing, and other uses that I have for my iPad Pro? This thought came to me when I saw you browsing the internet on the Lenovo without the controllers attached. My iPad Pro cost more than the Lenovo Legion Go, so could I swap them or am I too sold on IOS and the way my iPad just works? I’m certain the iPad’s battery life will smash the Lenovo.

The only thing I use it for at the moment is to play with performance options in the quick settings, everything else is done through windows. @bassdeff8819 Před 7 měsíci +7

@@simonrockstream Because I wanted the bigger screen and detachable controllers. I wasn't looking for a gaming on the go type console. I travel a lot for work and I was looking for something easy to carry, powerful enough to play AAA games, and has some productivity functionality but isn't a gaming laptop. Something that I can just drop onto a hotel room desk or airplane tray and sit back comfortably with controllers in hand. Hardware wise, this is the perfect device for me, the software just needs time to bake but I am sure that it will catch up. All the other handhelds had software issues at launch as well so I'm not too worried.

      @Mr-jj3gp Před 7 měsíci +6

@@thundergato84 I am not into emulation so why would I even use an sd card? If anything I’d rather upgrade the ssd. The sd card slot on the legion go and Ally are on the same spot, where the heat comes out so we will see if it becomes a problem with the legion go as well. Plus the fans are louder on the go compared to the Ally and the steam deck. No VRR. The go is too big and a little heavier so I’ll pass. I’m not hating on it, I think having the bigger screen is cool and immersive but for a handheld I prefer a smaller device with less weight as I already have a pc with a big monitor.

I have both an yes the games feel a lot smoother on the ally and at lower tdp higher settings
On the ally I can play a game at high settings at unstable 48fps but it doesn’t matter because it feels smoother
On the go I have to lower all settings and turn up the tdp to get a stable 60 and with the low resolution everything looks and feels horrible on AAA games.
The big screen on go is perfect for indie games for now until they fix it, also the speakers are TRASH.

Out of all of them I think the Steam Deck is going to be the better investment. Valve pushes so many updates and even goes out of their way to fix games that aren’t playing correctly. It’s also an easy entry point and cheaper for console players that want to get their feet wet. It was my own gateway into PC gaming.
I have all 3 and each one has their advantages, but I still find myself going back to the deck when I want to get in and get out fast on lunch or work breaks.
Oh yeah, I also found it funny that the Legion Go feels more comfy with the joycons removed. I just wish I didn’t feel like I was going to break something putting them on and taking them off lol😂. Anyways, another great video as always! Take care.

Yeah I'd be worried about long term support. Valve has a long term interest in SD since they make money off you buying games. Lenovo and Asus don't really have much incentive to provide long term support since they really only make money when you buy a new device.
I really like the screen size on the Legion go, but I will wait to see how much support the software and drivers get first.
