The G502 is probably my favourite for a number of reasons. It's more comfortable for right-handed play, has easy access side buttons, longer battery life and more customisation options in terms of weights too.

Good video! The G903 Lightspeed (2019) has far superior battery life though, up to 140 hours with default lighting, up to 180 without lighting. You've likely stumbled over the specifications of the older G903 model, yours has the HERO sensor though, way more efficient than the old model's PMW3366. The new model can be distinguished by the "LIGHTSPEED" beneath the G903 logo on the underside of the mouse, as well as the little lightning bolt logo on the top right corner of the box.
Correct I am a failure.
@@TheProvokedPrawn No you're not, that's an easy mistake to make. I just thought I'd put it out there, since many people base their purchase decisions on reviews.
If you don't mind me asking, do you still use one of these mice, or even both? And if so, which one do you personally prefer?
@@3st90 I have pinned your comment for that reason :) I am not still using them as I'm regularly switching mice for testing reasons. I did prefer the G502 though.
@@TheProvokedPrawn Awesome, thanks for your input. Keep up the good work! :)
You recommend a G502 or a G903 ?
Disliked. Only one ad in 12 minutes, not clickbait, completely accurate and informative, and worst of all, a great knowledge of the mice and how they function with counterparts. What kind of “Content” is this?
Hilarious comment.
I think its called, insanely nice video
This was the most extreme sarcasm i have ever seen

@Ken M fr, it's so annoying espically in larger cities like chicago :/
Yea made this video wayyy better. Great content. Just very slow

I upgraded my G502 (wired) to my first serious wireless mouse - the G903 last year. At first, it was a very jarring switch, the change of shape was obviously very noticeable. I don't find the G903 very comfortable, in fact I find it less comfortable than the G502. Doubling up on side buttons is a recipe for misclicks because the mouse is narrow. It looks more "gamery" which isn't really a positive either in my book. Overall, I'm disappointed. I stuck with the G903 up until now because I thoroughly enjoy the wireless experience on a high quality mouse, but as soon as I can afford to do so, I will be switching back to the G502 with it's wireless Lightspeed successor.
Hey, so what did you do after all ? wanted to change my 4 years old G903
@@odwenz534 tbh I switched back to my wired G502 and only switch to the G903 when I require a wireless mouse. Until the G502 dies I'll be sticking with it before going to the wireless G502.
@@willso93 Thanks for the answer. Wireless G502 here i come
@@odwenz534 no problem! I’d love to hear your opinion on it if it doesn’t slip your mind!
Maybe it's late to say this, but surely you knew that all the side buttons on the G903 are removable? Misclicks from pressing on the other side of the mouse seems like an odd complaint.
Thank you very much! You have done an outstanding job reviewing these two peripherals. High quality content, instructive, accurate and to the point, You are brilliant mate.
Thanks for the nice commet! :)

I really like the idea of using both left and right side buttons at the same time. For me, just having two on the left side plus the standard front buttons and scroll wheel isn’t enough, I’m thinking I could use the right side buttons for voice chat instead of awkward keyboard buttons would be great. Depends how practical it actually is to press those buttons while actively gaming.
Really nice video! I didn't know which mouse do I want and you hlped me really much. Thank you!
Glad I could help! Hope you enjoyed enough to subscribe.
Well I hope you got the g502 Lightspeed. If your right handed It’s definitely better. It had a DPI error percentage of 0.2 percent which is incredibly low and probably the lowest if not one of the lowest while the 903 has a DPI error percentage of a little over 2 percent.
Had the G903 since 2017 (yes I had to replace the switches!), I also have the powerplay mat which I highly recommend. Only thing to note is that you can't add weights with powerplay as the weight housing is replaced with the charging coil.
I’ve had to RMA two separate g903 for double click issues as well as losing sync intermittently when the dongle is within 1-2ft. That being said I love the g903 and there is a fix to the double click if you don’t want to RMA. Ended up fixing my 2 broken ones and have backups now thanks to Logitech!

Most underrated channel ever. Beautiful content, great quality. Ahmazeing.
Thanks. Glad you liked it. Hope you enjoyed enough to subscribe.
Great video, thanks so much! Can I ask if any of these mice has a metal body? Also, has any of these mice a metal scroll wheel (as opposed to the plastic ones on Corsair and Razer)? Are both mice on micro USB, or is there one with USB C? And finally, if I am not using the mouse for a few hours (with the computer still on), is any of these mice going to a “battery save”’mode? Thank you!
For reference, I was about to get a Corsair ironclaw but wanted a metal body, metal scroll wheel and sideways tilting function on the scroll wheel (and I understand that neither the ironclaw nor the basilisk have them)..
Thanks a lot once more!
G502 Lightspeed doesn’t have a metal scroll, or body as far as i know, the old wired version of it had a metal scroll and it would rust pretty quickly, so a plastic one is better imo. The G502 also has a battery save mode which you can enable or disable in the GHUB. For me a mouse with too much metal is too heavy and problematic (mainly due to rust). Also, no USB C version too i think. No idea about the G903, i only own the G502 lightspeed.
I wonder, can 1 dongle be used to both connect a Logitech G915 keyboard and G502/G903 mouse? Nice in depth review. like it.

Idk why but even that the G502 is heavier I find it easier to lift and play with than the G Pro. Probably because of my grip style.

Do these scroll wheels have that rattling sound after a while when you shake it?
I've been long term testing all of the G series mice, and Razer Viper/Basilisk. The 903 has been the winner even over the ultralights. Why, because the mouse is shaped with a grove on either side so I can move it around very easily not requiring grip tape and over all the shape resonates with me the best. Heavy? not for me and I find 60/70g mice too light!
Logitech G502 it is, cheaper on amazon. The charging mousemat is way to expensive, +200 euro. Don't think that is worth the asking price.
I just bought the powerplay for 105 euros. It’s indeed expensive, BUT it’s such a nice feeling mousepad in general and It provides that wireless charging. I would say I’m fine with the price with what I got.
@@Catalanskrr I like the mouse a lot, good buy. enjoy

I'd go for the G502 personally. It's ergonomically nicer.
I wondered the same, ty for your question

does the g903 have rubber gripped sides like the g502?
Be careful with g903 wireless. Mine as well as a lot of other people's became pretty much unusable after 6 or so months. Double left click is very common and on mine holding right click is almost impossible, makes playing most fps almost impossible.
Im right handed and use all buttons setup on my 903 on right i have stuff like battery level display and discord mute while on left side i have vvvvvery helpfull enter button set to far button while having back left clear for anything that any game can come up with

Btw I think you could put more ad hahaha and I'm willing to watch all the ads as support. To be honest, I still can't make the decision, could you give more suggestion for me. I'm a right-handed gamer and usually play fps game.
I preferred the G502
Are these good for mmorpg games?
G502 looks big but once you put your hand on it expect it to be a 1-3-1 finger placement or finger tip grip
g502 spectrum right click is not as crispy as left main click, what about g502 hero version? does anyone knows the left click feel of hero version??

The G903 is a great mouse but it’s naturally going to be less comfortable for most people because it’s meant for both right and left handed people.

Hey, nice rview ! I'm currently hesitating between those 2 mice : G502 HERO (wired) and G903 (PMW3366 version for its prize). Is there a huge diffence between those two sensors ? I'm a casual player, I play a lot but it can be FPS or MMORPGs or else. I'm thinking about having a wireless mouse, and something not too heavy : so the G502 with the wire and its natural weight... meh. But I would love to have that extra thumb button and two more on the left click, even though we can have two more buttons on the right side of the G903. So... I'm kind of lost. Any help ? Thanks !
PS : we can still use the wireless mice while chargng, right ?
Yes u can
G903 scroll wheel started skipping or nog registering. 2 years and 2 months old. Logitech send me a replacement after warranty period anyways
may i ask u something ? can we use the g903 with only the receiver without the dongle/adaptor ?
Yes
@@TheProvokedPrawn is there any difference between using the dongle and not using the dongle?
the cable is just to extend it so it's easier to access if you need to and perhaps to extend the range if your PC is tucked away out of reach.

How much g502 is good?
It’s a bit annoying they don’t use USB-C for the charge cable as they do for the MX range of keyboard and mouse.
Well, it's good for some and bad for some. Only my phone uses USB-C when my bluetooth headphones, gaming headphones, bluetooth speaker and keyboard are using micro usb. For me, micro usb is better right now, because I don't need to have both cables on my desk.

Ultimately had to opt for the G903 with the Hero sensor (upgraded a 6 year old G900). The battery life it's just surreal compared to the G502. If a G502 with Hero sensor is launched will be an instant buy for me, seems really comfortable. The other options Logitech offers are too light or lack the free wheel scroll that at this point I cannot live without.
You do know that the wireless g502 uses the hero sensor too right?
@@tuvu8394 yes, but it has 1/3 of the battery life. We're talking 180 hours vs 60. My statement was incorrect, I meant to approach the battery issue.
@@ruipedroleite ye I don't know why the g903 has so much more battery life while using the same sensor as the g502. I'm using the g703 hero which has the same battery life as the g502, and the mouse lasts me a few weeks of work with no Rgb and 125hz polling rate, so I suppose it's not really a big issue.
I’ve never touched the 903 but those extra buttons placement seems awful
i removed my extra buttons of the 903, you can do this, after this he is perfect now! i hate extra buttons on mouse, i never used in my life of gaming!
And i like FPS games so, how more simple the mouse is better, i will buy the 502 soon because i need one more mouse, so i will have both and see who is the best!
Like sombody said, you can get up to 140 to 180 hours of battery, I also recommend charging it every night and turn rgb off if you don't need, it.
What’s that thing displaying the question mark in the beginning ?
czcams.com/video/_NRt4n4dSxI/video.html
i have the first version of the 903(not lightspeed) had it since 2017 and recently it just started to double click after 6 years. at the time i got that 903 was the premium product and the base product, which is cheaper is the g pro wireless. but all of that changed since and now g pro wireless is significantly more priced than the g903-overall ok mouse
I bought both. I 100% satisfied with the 502! I will be returning the 903. Some things I didn't like about the 903 was the fact the included weight couldn't be used with powerplay charging, And also it just wasn't a comfortable mouse. Its made for both right and left handers, so it has none of the comfort features a right handed mouse would give a right handed user, like a thumb rest. ONE favorite mice of all time is the 700s, but I wish it was powerplay compatible!
Which one has more battery life then? They look the same and seem to have the same specs, sensors and tech with looks as the only difference so I'm guessing there is no difference? In the video you say the 502 has more battery life but then in the comments its different so I'm a little bit confused
Get a powerplay mat and you don't need to worry about battery life.
@@TheProvokedPrawn I will, but I'll be moving around for work so my desktop and everything is in storage for the next year. With that in mind is there a battery difference? And if they do I wonder why since they are essentially the same?

Does g502 work with the charging pad?
The Lightspeed edition works with the Power play system yes.
does g903 have bluetooth
That's the new model of 903 as explained in the pinned comment, but also, when it first launched it had a terrible issue with the switches, it was one of the marketing points to have omron switches with 50M click durability, but it seems that with the troubles the switches gave them they removed that marketing point. I suffered with those Chinese omrons, but fortunately Logitech's customer services are amazing, they replaced the mouse TWICE.
Nice story! It's good to hear when companies give users a good treatment
Oh as a side note, I got to disassemble the first one (that darn mouse has 42 screws in total!) and catched the problem with the switches, it seems like the copper contacts are bent using heat, which oxidizes a thin layer over it screwing with the contacts. The first two ones started showing issues on their first two months, but now I'm about a year with the last with no issues whatsoever
@@derchesten i cant decide between both because of that issues..
@@dasarchiv3508 tbh te clicking issues seem to be mostly gone, a couple of friends of mine ended up buying the same mouse with no problems, being the oldest 9 months with the mouse, and the latest replacement Logitech sent never had a hiccup, and I had it for about 10 months. Seems that if you have those problems they're quick to show up
@@derchesten thx for response. That sniping button of the g205 is disturbing me cuz I'm pressing it every time I move the mouse. So I have the decision between 703 (I like its compactness) and 903 (battery life is wow). I don't want to end up contacting Logitech every month because of click issues
Regarding the mouse wheel, I don't recommend the Razer Basilisk's. We use 3 at home, and have had several more. The wheel sometimes misses a scroll and/or then makes a double scroll next time. From brand new. It's just a faulty design in that regard.
The shape of the Basilisk is almost exactly the shape of the G502, and that's why I bought it. I was running away from the shitty G502 click components that make you missclick or double click after a few months. This also happened to my wife.
I bought the amazing G502 Lightning, I wish it had Bluetooth for travel.
God bless.
Is it hard to press the middle mouse button for 502? i have 903 and i haven't used to with the pressure i need to apply in order to trigger the button.
Is this mouse still good in 2021? Should I go for it?
I’ve had the g903 for about a week and it’s good for me
For me it comes down to ergonomics. Ambidextrous mice just feel awful to me for some reason. Right-handed mice with thumb rests will always beat the competition for me.
Same! i prefer ambidextrous mice though. I used the logitech M325 in school so i kinda got used to ambidextrous mice, i now use the razer mamba and razer basilisk x hyperspeed which both focus on the right hand (obvious, but i’m a righty.) not too much of a weird change but i still do like ambidextrous mice
i have both G502 Hero & G903 lightspeed. i like the G903 better. just my personal preferences.

Not a single side-by-side shot? Or did I miss it?
Thanks for the feedback. I have improved since this ancient video and now do include side by side shots
Light and agile!? I have the G903, it's one of the heaviest mice on the market?
Weight is for Men. Ninja makes that clear (his mice is just air)

Logitech Scroll wheel and DMR perfect combination
Currently have the g903. I thought the g502 light speed would be better. After buying the 502 to compare I found out my g903 was still more comfortable than the g502 AND the g903 is lighter which is noticeable if they were at least the same weight I would have kept the g502 also.
what about that click/switch problems?
Das Archiv almost 1 1/2 years later and it still works like a dream.
@@Blaquegold thx for reply! Do you have the hero sensor?
Das Archiv no I wish I did lol. But the battery like for the old version is not that bad. If it needs to be charged I just plug it and go to bed. No biggie but I got my son the g703 hero because the put the hero version that was around $100 at the time in the section for the regular g703 on clearance for $50. I can definitely tell you that the hero is SSSSOOOOO much more efficient.
Which one should i get for gaming?
502 is my preference
@@TheProvokedPrawn I think so. Is it wearless?
@@cosmicgamer6648 wireless?
@@TheProvokedPrawn Yes is it wireless?

Haven't tried it unfortunately
but which ones better?
502 IMHO
