LYRICS:
So close no matter how far
Couldn’t be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
And nothing else matters
Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don’t just say
And nothing else matters
Trust I seek and I find in you
Everyday for us something new
Open mind for a different view
And nothing else matters
Never cared for what they do
Never cared for what they know
But I know
So close no matter how far
Couldn’t be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
And nothing else matters
Never cared for what they do
Never cared for what they know
But I know
Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don’t just say
Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us something new
Open mind for a different view
And nothing else matters
Never cared for what they say
Never cared for the games they play
Never cared for what they do
Never cared for what they know
And I know
So close no matter how far
Couldn’t be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
No nothing else matters

I'm just gonna speak this into existence: I hope that Chris covers "Black Hole Sun." I don't think anyone else would be able to sing the hell out of it the way that Stapleton can.
Chris Cornell would be honoured!!!
That would be great...
Cody jinks does a nice cover of it
@@j.t.coggins1488 did watch that, it is nice...
Absolutely!
I am going to post just so that anyone whoever likes it will bring me back to hear this again and again...

Thanks@@johnstaples3844.. Listening now!
I shall comment now x
@@caitydoyle9213 Thanks! Just in time for the drive home.
Keep coming back brother 🫂
Please God, if you are there, let Metallica play this with Stapleton live. I probably won't be there but the world needs this.
Yes!
Dude could sing the ingredients list on a Cheerios box and I'm sure it would be amazing.
Well said
No kiddin'. He could sing at a funeral and people would forget why they are there.
Have you ever read those ingredients 😂
Would bring me to tears....
Can we somehow make this happen 😅
Is it just me or is everything Chris Stapleton touch is pure gold ?
Not just you man, not just you.
No, it's pure gold. Your ears are correct.
Not jus you! ... Me too.
Gold wishes.
Yep
Why didn’t I know this cover existed until today??? ❤

Same here!
A rock genre with added blues and country flavor. The mix makes a unique taste of masterpiece.
I rarely prefer a cover over the original, but Chris knocked it out of the park with this one! Probably one of the best covers of any song I've ever heard
Same!
From Southern Rock, to Blues, to Country, to metal head Rock, Chris Stapleton proves he has no limits to his talent!
You forgot Bluegrass. I first heard him when he was playing for the Steeldrivers, a progressive bluegrass band. They really stood out from the pack.
He did a pop song with Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran, that song was such a fun song.
Also soul he has done James brown and Prince covers and they were great
@@BigMuddyCountry really Waylon !! I have not heard about that before, are you in any of his fan club ?
@@genetmeghann5284 not in any fan club but look up the song blow by ed sheeran, that is the song together. It rocks out lol
As a Metallica fan of 35 years, I find this to be an AMAZING cover. VERY dark and evocative. Well done sir.
Never done better. By anyone!
Totally agree!
I just discovered Chris Stapleton this year and he is one that transcends genre's.
I agree, and I normally can't stand country music. Great job on the video as well.

He’s been a great plus to American country music I’m so happy we met last year. Have you attended any of his shows ?
Could sing the phone book and would buy the CD!

There are only two certainties in life; One being Death and the second is Chris Stapleton will never ever disappoint. Love from Morocco.

I love motorcycling in your country.
This was quite disappointing , never even came half way close to the original. I could have done better and I’m a nameless nobody that’s enjoyed METALLICA sense 84’
I live for and love this comment!!!
Love from Kentucky/Stapleton-Land, he's a KY boy &: I love it!!
This version is so good, that in another life, this would be the original and Metallica would be the band doing the cover version. Genius.
Chris is the resurrection of country music .Thank Christ there’s someone.
Chris & his wife are the PERFECT TEAM, the harmony is spectacular! This was my first time listening to this song I was blown away.
Just found it today and listened for curiosity - immediate favorite!
Morgane is not featured in this song. According to Chris in a Rolling Stone magazine interview he did all harmony and background vocals. 😉
I love that him and his wife sing together too. Such chemistry ❤
Even if Morgane didn't sing backup on this song I'm sure she could have killed it❤
This NEEDS to be the new theme song for Yellowstone! Omg it would be perfect
That would have been awesome. It would have also worked great for something like Sons of Anarchy
Open mind for a different view . . . HOW DAMN REFRESHING! I FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS COVER BY CHRIS LAST YEAR . . . HE MAKES IT HIS OWN, AND I CAN JUST HEAR IT ACCOMPANYING A TARANTINO KILLING SPREE SEGMENT WITH BONNIE AND CLYDE CHARACTERS UNHINGED AND ON THE LOOSE, DESERT BOUND . . .❤
Metallica is proud of him, no one has ever been able to carry this song, till Chris
I would love a Straight Blues/ Rock album from Chris. He’s so damn talented

I'm a Metallica die hard fan but I must admit Chris Stapleton absolutely killed this with his rendition, I believe this WILL be my all time favorite version of this song. Only with someone of Chris's amazing talent on vocals and guitar could even come close. Nothing but pure perfection!

Know body knows but him ! He is my favorite. I am good because of his talent. He is amazing. Touched my soul! He is genuine! There seems to be so much in this world ( games). He is one of a kind!
You pick the best, just keep going😅. Are you doing good? Miss you
I think even Metallica has to love this cover. That outro guitar just sweeps you away.
He made it his own you can hear raw it in his voice Metallica may have written Nothing else matters but when Chris Stapleton sang it he sang about something that was very real to him he didn't just read words on a page and I'm sure the guys in Metallica loved it they made an entire album of mostly cover music and approached it in much the same way ... Johnny Cash once said something along the lines of if your not gonna say exactly what you mean you might as well say nothing at all these songs need to have meaning even when it's a cover of someone else's work
I have a restless soul and an unfulfilled heart . . . So in need of some adventure!!! ❤❤ Chris gets my blood pumping. .
God I wish SRV was still alive, imagine Chris and SRV, jamming together? 👊🏼💪🏼
I immediately thought this wouldve epic if SRV was alive.
I think Chris definitely channeled SRV in this song. It has his influence all over it.

Hard to do but Stapleton gets it !!

@@TC_Conner Amen brother. It amazes me all the Kentucky singers that are overlooked. Probably has to do with the lack of corporate availability to get people into the spotlight. Especially when you have such unique voices like Chris Stapleton and Dwight Yoakam just to name a couple.
The only cover off the tribute Black album that is worth listening too. He absolutely killed this and Metallica should be proud.
One of my favorite song it reminds me of the past hello how are you doing today 🎶🥰
He covered the whole album?
When Chris steps out of country just for a minute, he can smash right into a heavy metal band and bring it back to life, he is just an exceptional talent, his voice is just made for any type of music, he is interested in singing. I love him and everything he does 😍, I am blinded by his talent. You can tell this man drowns himself in his music 🎶 I am sure that's all he thanks about most of the time. And he is not a boastful man he doesn't need to be, his talent does all the talking for him. Outstanding piece of work.
