- We've heard your requests for more Kermie Cam's, and we've listened. Here's one Kermie Cam we think you'll really enjoy. The North American P-51D model Mustang. Part 1 has you doing a pre-flight tour with Kermit while he checks out the plane. Part 2 you'll go in the cockpit and get a first hand glimpse of what it is like to sit at the controls and prepare to fly. In part 3 you'll take off and fly... and there's a couple of surprises along the way. Hope you enjoy.

Sill has guns that work. Wonderful plane.
New subscriber retired US Marine and I love your P-51c and this p-51D..and it is a pleasure flying with you..I always wanted to be a fighter pilot..because I felt that I would have owed the sky's as a MARINE Aviator ...But I guess the good Lord said no..I want you TO OWN the ground..MARINE..and so I did..but flying with you...is
Beyond words...AND,I TRULY THINK YOU..😊👍👍👍👍👍
And love your pre flight checks because I learn so much from you.about these aircraft..and can truly tell that you love to fly..and share..your love...the only thing that I dislike..are those interrupting commercials...
But I truly love the war birds..
The mustangs, the spirit fires , the F-86 sabre, the F4u corsair, the famous de Haviland mosquito..and others..
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing. Welcome aboard!
getting the opportunity to see a P-51 up close on Saturday, watching so I know what I am looking at when I see the details.
What a gem ....
The BEST war plane ever made....! Beutiful on the ground or in the air...! Love to get a ride in one b4 I check out...! Thank u 4 sharing ....truly enjoyed all 3 videos...! U did a beutiful, flawless job restoring this plane....! its no wounder its a 2 time winner....!
Beautiful Airplane.
I have only been to the EAA show once at Oshkosh, 2013 or so. In 1986 my wife & I were in Ft. Collins, Colorado at CSU where she used to work. She was in visiting her former co-workers & I stayed out in the car. I heard the engine and then spotted a P-51D doing a low pass over the school. I ran inside the school all excited that a P-51 was flying overhead, my wife & her friends were it's no big deal. So I went back out to watch it as long as I could.
I saw Kermit flying that ages ago. Awesome
The P51D has always been and always will be the plane of my dreams
For me, this is the most perfect aircraft ever designed. British needs and American manufacturing made a deadly and beautiful weapon.
The peak of piston engine fighters, last of the real warbirds
Beautiful ship.
What a great service, at this time of National shut in. Thanks again Kermit.
I want a flight in that beautiful bird! I did get to experience a flight in "Betty Jane" in 2015, the P-51C that the Collings Foundation used to take on their tour but have since retired. That was an incredible experience, especially when I got to take control of the stick! It was a major bucket list item for me! BUT, the D model is my love, I want a flight in it!
Never seen a more in-depth walkthrough of a P-51. This is great!
That's one COOL' fighter plane...✌👍
This was more informative than anything I've seen on any documentary about the P-51 as far as the actual aircraft and not it's exploits. Thank you so much for sharing.
I like that metallic sheen. Great Airplane. Wow a Tale warning Radar...didn t know that. Also the Weapons bay...very intressting
Landing gear bay !! Thanks.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
That is a gorgeous airplane. Preddy's mount was the most beautiful Mustang of all.
It's so beautiful!!!! The best fighter plane of all time!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Man I appreciate his passion. You can tell this is a true love. Super cool.
This airplane holds a very special place in my life as I had my first every warbird flight and first ever aerobatic flight in it when it was owned by John Shaffhausen in May 1977. We flew into Fairchild AFB for an open house day and were the star attraction. Before landing we did a 0 altitude pass down the runway with B-52s and KC-135 flicking past in our peripheral vision and then pulling up into a chandelle at the end. I hollered out loud with sheer joy to be able to experience that at age 20. One of the highlights of my life, but just the first of many such experiences. Give her a pat on the flanks for me Kermit.
George was a pretty cool guy 😂
My first airshow was at Fairchild AFB, one of my coolest memories.!¡!!
Immaculate machine!
Thank you Kermit!
Just fantastic
Kermit: Its truly amazing... for you to take your time and energy to share these wonderful things with so many that would never have this opportunity. I cant you how much I appreciate your thoughtfulness.
JUST AMAZING ..
Did great job on the P-51 history.
You're a legend Kermit. Kind regards from Australia!
Beautiful plane in fabulous condition. All the surfaces, spars, lines, valves and whatnot in the wheel wells are spotless. Incredible to think how old the plane is!
+Donald Moser The ones that fly are mostly new-build metal except for engines and a few original parts in the rebuild. The rebuilds today are better than factory new. warbirds-eaa.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/IMG_1345.jpg
Soooo great. I love this plane!!!! Great video Kermit
thank you very much
For all this information of your device the mustang
Beautiful pre-flight tour of all the plane a full tour
Explain in detail thoroughly
Beautiful aeroplane and in my view probably the best looking of the war.A close second was the DH Mosquito !. Good luck to all from the UK.
Thanks so much. My dad was a P-51 pilot in Italy during the war, and I've always been fascinated by the plane. It's great to get all of the details about how it works.
okay... so this was two years ago...but it hits my heart! this is so great...
Nice to see that "Ron's Mustang" is in good hands and still flying. This has brought many good childhood memories of seeing this iconic fighter being original restored in the 1960's. Much remembered were the first start of the Merlin engine after many years stored in the open (under a tarpaulin). Then watched it takeoff at Harewood into a hot Nor'west wind...
Kermit,
We are so much alike. We both have collected & owned the same rare WWII aircraft. The only difference being mine were plastic models and yours are the real macoy. 😂
Beautiful
Thanks for sharing something most of us would never get to experience. Here in Martinsville, Indiana lived two former members of the blue nosed bastards squadron. Ed Williams was one members name who passed about five years ago now, great guy and friend.
Outstanding.
Gorgeous airplane. Really clean wheel wells. I spent my youth cleaning oil and dirt out of aircraft wheel wells so I appreciate the effort needed to keep them looking like that. Thanks very much for showing us around.
super walkround
I really enjoyed this walk-around. Thanks!
I am sure that Maj Preddy would have been delighted to see his livery still flying the American skies he defended with his very life. What a gorgeous Mustang and love all the detail in your videos. Bravo.
These videos are the best. Never gets old.
It is Ingenious to add springs there! That mod is likely from someone's gear-up incident ? The Ramp tugs once dragged my Navion w. brakes set- which broke a link, causing no uplock departing CorpusChristie. Had to land and remove doors, then fly gear-down to Tulsa....so glad my gear didn't get stuck in the well. I may do a similar retract spring. Thanks
I immediately halted everything I was doing and put on my headphones when I saw you posted a new video. The P-51 is my all-time favorite plane! I LOVE your videos(especially Kermie Cams!) and your dedication to your passion. Thank you so much for taking the time to share this with us.
I sure hope you bring that beauty to the next cherry point airshow
Thank you for that wonderful video.
Oh. My. Gosh! She's not just an airplane, but she also is a real beauty! The Mustang is my favorite propeller airplane. The peak of evolution of propeller-driven fighter airplanes. I envy you for the fact that you can have that experience with her each day. :-)
Thanks for this video.
It has to be very cool flying in a living piece of history like this beautiful aircraft. The Mustang has always been my WW 2 Favorite.
Such a joy to watch, listen and learn
Another outstanding video
ANOTHER KERMIE CAM! FINALLY!!! YAY!!!!
I love your videos and now I love the mustang even more!
Kermit you are a blessed man and I can not thank you enough for sharing your passion with us. 25 and just bought a P-51 man that had to be surreal.
Whoever made that tool for everything is genius.
the Kermie Cam is back in town - very much appreciated
Utterly stunning, what a beautiful aircraft, love the blue and bare metal combination. It remains a very classy act and testimony to design excellence. It must have felt so special back in the 1940's. Thanks for showing me round.
Man what a gorgeous machine! Thank you for sharing your plane and time with us.
Pure beauty
Oh yeah....... finally some new Kermie Cam's
Must be simply great being able to say; "thinking of doing a Kermie Cam with the Mustang today". I can just barely drive a car. Especially like the additional question/remark "what do you think"?
Well ... YES PLEASE ;-)
Excellent walkaround. Beautiful aircraft. 💕P51D mustang. Thank you for part 1. 👏
I have much appreciated your display and willingness to educate aircraft enthusiasts like myself. Thank you!!
AMAZING.
Great Video, especially the history and background of George Preddy. It is great to remember our fallen warriors and the sacrifices performed for us and our Country. The plane is amazing and your overall presentation of it gives so much in-depth facts in one place. Great for modelers such as myself and others who build scale models. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing this
First off, what a beautiful aircraft and how you have not only maintained it but bettered it is amazing! !!
Really enjoyed the rides,,,could really feel the wind holding me up.
One question did come up on your walk around and stayed with me until I could talk to an aeronautical engineer about it. Trim tab on the rudder is designed to put more pressure when left rudder is put in to compensate for the thrust of the prop....always easier to turn right because of it. The negative pressure put on the left turn evens out the pressure on the pedals so that the pilot gets the same feeling going left or right.
Learn something new every day!
Really into this plane and just completed a Tamiya 1/32 scale of it with aluminum foil. Decales came with a pamphlet of George's 3 P51s and eyewitness reports of his wingman and ground personnel when he was shot down. Very interesting.
Have photos of model if interested.
P.S. I like how you put your money to good use...those planes and your memory will live on and on and on!!!! Way to go.
Loved these videos. My Dad flew Mustangs off Iwo escorting bomber missions over Japan. He is gone now and I often find myself wishing I had asked him more about his war experience. But watching these videos give me a clear sense of what was Dad's life for a couple of years as he flew what I guess amounted to record single seater flights up to Japan and back. All those guys were heroes...
@ ah man. Yeah, you should have. I'd have got him to write it down and done mini interviews on home movies or something. I guess you have photos and other things that compensate.
A great walkaround. Cool to watch this fantastic aircraft in every aspect. Should be interesting if there where any film, out there, how they made them from the very begining, like a factory tour from earely days.
Fantastic!
Great movies of kermit weeks, especially for our model builders for the details and background information
Absolutely! I'm finishing up a 1/6 scale P-51D RC plane from Top Flight and while the the kit is done well there are some details missing. Looks like they went the whole 9 yards with the gun ammunition too!
Very nice airplane sir.
VERY LUCKY BOY .....CONGRATULATIONS ....(BRAZIL )
Damn that's a sexy plane.
Man I really enjoy These videos Kermit ...very cool !!😎
oh my ... very beautiful aircraft indeed
So glad I found this channel in my suggestion box. This is amazing content, for us propeller heads.
Fantastic machine with amazing stories about the pilot, but with a tragic end.
Kermit, thank you so much for uploading .
Looking forward to parts 2 and 3.
This plane is eye candy, not to mention the exceptional performance of this aircraft, it's also hard to believe that New Zealand (where I'm from) ordered 370 of these.
Awesome video!! Thanks.
Thank you for a great tour of an iconic warbird!
you make my day
I miss the Kermie cam stuff!! This is awesome!!
Simply outstanding! Thanks Kermit!
I would love to fly in a p51Mustang one day
Great Video Thanks for showing Australia
Well. THAT, was a bit of actual education! Now I know what the back end of the 3x .50-cals actually look like in there, as well as the guts of what's actually going on inside that fabled less-than-zero-drag radiator scoop/duct. I've seen a lot of various warbird videos in my day. Not very often I actually learn something tangibly new about the inner workings of the machine in question!
Such an extraordinary aircraft and this video highlights how far ahead of their time they were. I would have loved to have seen the day when when the German fighter pilots defecated in their flight suits when the Bomber Escorts didn't turn around due to fuel limit. Commonwealth Aircraft (CAC) in Australia had the only other license to build the Mustang during WW2 and are always a pleasure to watch at airshows down here. Looking forward to clip 2 and 3. I doubly looking forward to the completion of the Boomerang in coming years.
this was the best video I have watched in a long time! Thank you so much for this!!!
Thanks! Be sure to check out the other parts too.
@@KermitWeeks444 I watched the other ones as well and loved it! Was like I was right in there with you and was incredibly interesting and memorable, thanks again!!!
This man is a legend I would do anything to be him and I mean ANYTHING
It shines like a fukn pin!! Well done boys... Immaculate. What a war bird. P51d, all the way.!!
Hello Kermit!
Very interesting video: The first time i could see where the mg ammunition is positioned! And other things too...
Waiting for part 2 & 3.
Finally a new Kermycam!! Fantastic! I love the detail and history you bring, thanks.
Amazing
Awesome. My favourite plane. Thanks.
Still love this vedeo.
Beautiful plane! Thanks for the great walk around.
Great Video! Greetings from Germany!
