Me too, left side constricted. And at night both nostrils block up, so I end up breathing through my mouth. Have put the head end of my bed a bit higher but apparently not high enough and higher is impossiblecause as I sleep on my side. Only thing that helps is sit up for about 10 minutes till the mucus gets loose and comes out through the back/throat. After half an hour it's blocked up again

Lucas, my right nostril is dominant most of the time when I'm awake. But sometimes when I wake up in the middle of the night, my left nostril is dominant. I've tested a few times and I'm sure about this. Now I do have a slightly deviated septum, but it seems to me that if I can breathe through my left nostril at night, I can do it during the day as well. That leads me to believe I'm spending too much time in fight or flight. Does that seem accurate to you?

Hello Paul - remember it's just a test, it fails. So can be just nose / mucus stuff nothing to do with nervous system too.

Usually it's the opposite, right side sleeping will promote left nostril, but everyone is different.

    How absolute is this?

Not absolutely at all, just one of many ways to check in with yourself and get some insight. For many people, maybe even 80%, it can be pretty accurate.

I am at a disadvantage right off as the opening in my left nostril is smaller than my right nostril. My dentist brought this to my attention a couple of years ago. Not sure how to address this

Hello Tori - if your dentist made note, I would go see an ENT and see what you can learn. Sometimes there are very simple solutions.
