    The old fluid looked very clean. The bags are a great idea. The parts store I worked at sold a fair amount of Amsoil Severe Gear. Gotta love the sound effects when filling transmissions and differentials! 🤣🤣

    That stayed clean cause you initially changed it early and got all the breaking in crap out of there.

    I would hope Amsoil holds up well! I have my fluids (all of them) done every 50k. Front and rear diffs, transmission, transfer case, brake fluid, both cooling systems, engine oil, and all filters for those systems. That's in the 250, of course. It SEEMS to work well. My other schedule is oil and oil filters every 5k, and fuel filters every 10k. So far the CP4 is holding up and, aside from that odd P0170 once in a while, it runs great. Now that I am going to be towing, I might do my major changes at 25k instead of 50k. Guess a UOI for each fluid is in my future so I can nail it down.
    I switched to Amsoil in my 1995 Dakota for engine oil. The molecules were so small compared to dino oil that it literally made the oil-pan sweat oil. It would drip too. Switching back to dino fixed the leak/sweaty pan, but the engine wasn't as smooth. I went back to Amsoil and just ignored it sweating through the pan. That 5.2L V8 was a strong engine.
    What was in the green container you sprayed onto your diff cover? Also, does your diff require those slip additives?

    • @BeardedFordTech
      @BeardedFordTech  Před 6 měsíci +2

      That's all I have in my vehicle is amsoil. All fluids. The green container is brake cleaner. Fill it up and put the cap on. And pressurize it when an air chuck. It's called a sure shot. And when I say fill it with brake cleaner. It's the cleaner in the 55 gallon drums. It's just some leftover we had. And no it doesn't require friction modifier. If it did no worries cause amsoil has it in there anyway. 😁

    I bleed Ford but I do own a Wrangler. Just did my first oil change with Amsoil hoping to quiet the dreaded Pentastar tick. It did quiet it down quite a bit. Might be switching my Eco boosted fleet over from Penzoil Ultra Platinum to Amsoil.

    • @BeardedFordTech
      @BeardedFordTech  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Let's hope that pentastar doesn't get worse. If it does. We all know what it is. Cams and lifters. I'm glad it quieted down. It's really really good stuff. . You'll be happy in the ecobokst fleet too!! How long you had the wrangler?

  • @user-ux7jk4dk8n

    Amsoil for an oil change just seems a little too steep for me. I’d rather just use costco’s full synthetic lol.
    That said, for tranny, ptu, and rear diff. I wanted to drain (and flush if needed) the existing fluid out and switch it to amsoil given the longer fluid service interval.
    Great videos as always.

    • @BeardedFordTech
      @BeardedFordTech  Před 6 měsíci +1

      It's not expensive for an oil change. Check out my 7800 mile oil change video. See the use oil analysis results. You can push it further than Costco synthetic. My transmission brakes rear diff and coolant are all amsoil. And obviously the engine oil too

    call me nuts.but for my first diff fluid change, i like to clean out the bottom of the housing real well.i usually get a little fine metal out after break in.but none after the first service.& generally get 200k+ out of the bearings & axles with 50k change intervals.i guess im just cheap.gotta make it last long as possible without costing me big money.
