@@Sjemdjdneje8383 idk if you’re aware but stanford has an outstanding long distance program, at the recent ncaa finals their runners won both 5k and 10k and one of those races they were also second place
@@Sjemdjdneje8383there have been a massive number of Stanford graduates who have gone professional for running afterwards. Grant Fisher, Ryan Hall, Elise Cranny, etc. There have been a lot. Sure, they may graduate with legit degrees, but running is the kind of sport that does not limit one from pursuing a career at the same time as pursuing world/Olympic teams

I know you wore a pair in a 800m but coming from a nike victory and liking a more "aggressive" spike would you recommend the 1500 version for an 800m runner?

Idk about these but most track spikes have a plastic plate so you shouldn’t use track spikes for xc

can u use these for cross country
I have a question. Right now, I am running in the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 23, but I want to try something different because I have been running in this type of shoe for a year now. Plus it is boring to run in lol. With summer cross country training coming up, my weekly mileage will go up to around 50-ish milles and I will be doing a long run once a week consisting of 10-12 miles as well as 6-7 mile runs 5 days a week. I will also be doing a double run once a week consisting of 3 miles in the afternoon. With that in mind, what shoe do you think I should pick up? Possibly two shoes to rotate with if they are cheap enough and fit into my budget. I want something that is able to handle the longer distances and something that will keep me injury free because I tend to have issues with my knees like IT band syndrome and Peteller tendinitis. I want something that can pick up the pace sometimes because my friends like to go unnecessarily fast lol. Plus it needs to be durable, as I am running lots of miles this summer. Also, I run mostly on the roads with the occasional trail run here and there. A shoe that you recommend that can do all of this would be great but if you recommend two shoes that I can rotate with, that would be fine as well. Thanks.
It's better to run on trail with a road shoe than to run on road with a trail shoe, so if you're only occasionally going on trail I'd stick to road shoes.
Pegasus 40’s
I just made a comment recommending shoes but it disappeared. Basically, if you're in the Adrenaline right now you probably need a shoe that has some stability to prevent over-pronation. I'd recommend the Saucony Tempus. It's a daily stability trainer that has some of Saucony's racing foam which allows it to work well at faster paces as well as every day runs. Also try out the Hoka Arahi. It's a little bit firmer but still has lots of cushion and some less-intrusive stability components. It would be a really good option for you, and especially for those weekly long runs. If the Arahi doesn't work, the On Cloudrunner is another decent stability option.

It seems like you want an uptempo trainer. The main competitors are On Cloudmonster, NB Rebel v3, Asics Novablast 3, Saucony endorphin speed 3(or 2). Two more I would recommend are Asics magic speed 3 - better for workouts and have carbon plate, or saucony triumphs which TANK miles and will save your legs.

Absolutely
You can potentially find them used at running stores or from other athletes too if you likely won’t use them much

Not specially, but it’s lighter than you’d expect from looking at it.

Runnings not really a sport that benches athletes, so I’d say I ideally don’t bench at all and only compete.

Make sure you focus on your the long term progress in the sport and allow yourself room to grow and improve. Most of all make sure you foster a mindset around running and racing that is overall positive and making a good impact on your lifestyle so that you can insure your longevity

why 10k and not the 1500 ones
10k is the faster and better overall spike, even though it sounds like it should be the other way around. From what I’ve heard the ON athletes just use the 1500 spike for some workouts but exclusively race in the 10k variant

I never wear socks, I think it’s a matter of personal preference
It’s totally preference. I workout in socks so I race in socks as well. But many of my mates will race without socks

Probably dragonfly’s. Or at least that’s what I’ve used in the past
