Dylan has a fantastic voice - Kick It Up a Notch is just a showcase of his talent. I mean, he has his arms above his head the whole time and still sings like that?! The thing is, I think Broadway would consider his voice too ‘jazzy’ and not controlled enough, if that makes sense? He absolutely has the talent but they look for a very specific style of voice up there.

Question for a lot of these people isn’t whether they have the talent to make it, but whether they want to.
Even if your goal was broadway, once you get there, many realize it’s not quite what they thought, or don’t like the trade offs it requires. Getting cast in a show full time is a huge commitment, ties you to a particular location, or tour, and really limits how much you can stretch your creative wings with other things. It’s not everyone’s idea of fun, what they want to do, or why they got into theatre. Mariah has spoken about leaving the show, why she didn’t rush back, and how much she enjoys the other things she gets to do because she’s not tied to one show, and I suspect that would be true of a lot of Starkid cast members.

okay but i just listened to a lot of the starry soundtrack but then i stopped and listened to enlightenment on repeat for an hour but holy shit is the soundtrack good so far. Everyone says they were crying at the last two songs so I'm mentally preparing

The person with new ideas ends up kind of becoming the leader but ends up having to Join forces with the og leader to save the day and the group ends with a new advancement given by the cool person.
