I've been a fan of Starkid for probably slightly less than a year before their engagement announcement, and when I first started getting into Starkid I tried looking up whether or not they were together. I found that mostly everyone could sense some chemistry between those two for sure, but since they've literally never gone public about being together we couldn't be sure they're a couple and not just very close friends. We knew they were living together, but maybe it was just platonic..? A lot of people felt that it probably wasn't, but out of respect for them a lot of people seemed to have tried to quiet this wave of fans trying to theorize about their personal lives. So basically there was literally no official confirmation of a relationship for EIGHT years, and it was lowkey taboo by many fans to theorize about it because like, surely, they would've said something by now! Until one day they just. Dropped engagement Instagram posts on everybody and it was just really baffling for *THAT* to be their first confirmation of a relationship Btw sorry about the weird ass grammar and tenses that keep changing in this comment, I'm extremely tired and can't be bothered to try to fix anymore than I already have lol
