I will say only run each test one time. I did corrupt my Windows install running the uninstaller multiple times. The Display adapters text wouldn’t show up in device manager.
Do I need to do this if my previous gpu was just the on-board graphics from my motherboard?

If sticking with same brand all i ever did was uninstall the drivers and installed card and reinstalled drivers. If switching brands then I ddu. Plus amd has it own cleaner utility.
We have had issues with same brand and different cards and even upgrading. We use a lot of cards. I would do this every time just to ensure you don’t have issues. We have had it happen live on stream with both AMD and Nvidia.
I was wondering if I already have integrated graphics and just now switching to a GPU, would I need to use ddu?
No because both drivers need to be installed

I have a question, If I had an amd that died and i replaced it with an nvidia and i dont like it and im now going back to a new amd card should i run this and uninstall the old amd then the nvidia im crrently replacing before the new card ? thank you for your time . sorry , i found your video after all these cards . so im unsure if the original amd drivers are even still a thing now that the nvidia had been installed.
Select amd and then install nvidia drivers

I downloaded "amd radeon rx vega 10 graphics, 31.0.21912.14" through Driver Easy which is supposed to be most updated driver for my computer (2/20/2024). When I go to Device Manager to update driver, I get "The best drivers for your device are already installed", and it won't update to the current driver. What should I do?

You could always DDU and reinstall
My AMD graphics card died Stuck in a same one but now have a steached screen . Tried everything to no joy. Mitght this do the trick but as i said my old one is toast so can not do your process.
So hypothetically, if I just upgraded and didn’t DDU but installed the new gpu, can I just DDU and install new drivers anyway?

If you switched brands of GPU, just make sure you select the brand of your old card (amd or Nvidia)
No wonder why my pc gpu crashes randomly, Most people told me it was from Driver
Because it won't crash when at games but it crashes on chrome even in 1 tab..

not unless you got to remove your drivers or like in this video, switch to a different gpu like amd to nvidia vice versa.

No need unless you are changing brands. The drivers are universal. I went from an AMD 6800 series to a 7900 series and never changed a thing. Works fine.
I thought so too. I went from a 3080 to 4080 which has the same driver, but couldn't get a display image at all until I did this. Such a pain.
@@jamesbp oh I guess Nvidia has some differences in their drivers then. I ran the AMD drivers for weeks without issue before updating to the newest driver.
We have had issues with both AMD and Nvidia even same cards but different manufacturers from the same families. This is just good
practice to ensure you don’t have problems
@@RobeytechLive that is weird. I had no issue going from AMD MSI 5700 to AMD Gigabyte 6700XT card, then a reference 6800XT and then to a Powercolor 7900xtx. I simply take one card out and put the other in.
I've only read it now. It's nice that the graphics card replacement works so well. I only swapped my RX 6600XT for a 6800 and the card worked but I wasn't really satisfied. AMD and Nvidia must also have thought something of by offering an individual version of the new drivers for each graphics card model. It is not so universal that one driver can get the best out of all card classes. That's why new driver versions by AMD and Nvidia are available for download, sorted by graphics card. With AMD it is also important that user install the latest chipset drivers for there motherboard beforehand. Then DDU, completely remove the outdated driver version, maybe also enable that no driver updates are installed by MS later during driver installation. In my eye,s there was a big difference in quality compared to just swapping cards.
