- Gulgong is a small historical town in Midwestern New South Wales, famous for the Gold Rush and Henry Lawson. It is about a half hour drive north west of Mudgee. Historically it was one of the main gold mining areas in New South Wales after the precious metal was found there in 1870. It grew rapidly at that time and has managed to maintain its historical integrity. It’s an interesting town to visit.

I really enjoyed this revisit, especially for seeing what we couldn't previously: the interior of the Opera House. Many thanks.
I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Enjoyed the visual journey around town and laid back commentary too. Keep it up.
Thank you.
Where was the old horse trough in the main street? Hope it's still there 👍
I don’t remember seeing it, but that doesn’t mean it’s not still there.😁
