THANKS FOR READING AND WATCHING!!! - Auta a dopravní prostředky
No music, no incessant narration, a fire extinguisher and Good camera work. Enjoyable. Thank you.
Well thanks for watching my friend.👍
Agreed, what a relief to find something so interesting without the crappy music lol.. i love the natural sounds of the process..
Well done mate, nice vid.
Cheers jim bo 😆. Yeah I’m not a big fan of loud techno music while you’re melting and casting stuff 😉any music I add will be very minimal.
bigstackD Casting great stuff my man, i think your channel will grow fast if you keep things how they are... can't wait to see more : )
And crisp editing, a sense of timing and storytelling. Well done.
4 years and I'm just now reaching some of your older videos!! Pretty interesting seeing how far you've come since the early days!!
Who else loves seeing him scrape crap off the top of the molt?
They call it "slag". You should watch steel mills dump massive amounts of it from their melts. Insane and explosive!
It's very satisfying seeing the slag give way to bright orangey red molten metal!
I appreciate the detail work you perform to get em mirrored. Wow
Also seeing your stash shelves are inspired me to get into smelting as well. Pretty shiny bars and coins all over my house
i love the real "I've got history" look of that old propane tank furnace. And I want one of those meatloaf steel moulds!
So we all gonna ignore the fact he started the fire with a $100
It's fake
Elijah Aguilera and you were gullible enough to think that he burnt one. LOL
an offering to whichever god of fire you believe in
cheese chisel
Firelord Zuko that would be
It’s definitely fake, Australian money looks nothing like that.
This was the best view of skimming on your whole channel. It’s so crazy to look at! I want to do it
This is literally the exact kind of video I have been searching for! Please keep at it!
c&p from @jake: No music, no incessant narration, a fire extinguisher, and Good camera work. Enjoyable. Thank you.
---- and I'm absolutely on board, please keep your videos with the same format, you're the only one as of now, we love it!!
You got it Matey 👍🏻😉
Great video, that bar turned out killer. Thanks for sharing these without all the blathering. 👍
VERY nice vid! I was scrolling through a list of brass casting videos, and very glad I picked this to watch for my evening entertainment tonight! Appreciated seeing the different 'raw materials' you used. I pick up brass when it presents itself, also copper, and would like to start casting ingots at some point. I am retiring from my job in early 2019 and will have a Lot more time for fun stuff then! Also appreciated your replies to commenters re: the various grits you used to get that bar so very perfect, the composition of the spoon you used, etc. I've collected quite a bit of brass connectors and parts, bullet casings, also "micro-scrap" plug ends, electrical components - I should weigh it out sometime, but it all adds up, in any case. Thank you for these presentations! I appreciate you!
No worries my friend I’m glad you enjoyed it. I release a video every Friday so be sure to stick around , today’s video will be a nice big copper bar and some copper coin blanks that I made from some copper cable I use my new personalised furnace it is awesome👍🏻. And be sure to go back through my other vids theres s hell of a lot of brass and copper castings from scrap I’m sure you will appreciate😁😉
His style of making these vids is great, no extra bs. Just straight to the good ol melting
no bs music is the most impressive thing!!!!
now i have the desire to buy a forge. thank you
😉👍🏻
Buy? Just build one out of old materials from a scrap yard 👌
If you have the money buy one they are usually better quality if you don't build one it still can be good quality
You want a foundry not a forge. Build one use waste oil
@@Jspilman27 i was thinking about using a 55 gallon steel drum. I can pick on up for 8 dollars.
Gosh damn that was a great pour. So even and the bar is one of the best ever on the channel
Damn that is one hell of a brass ingot. Its absolutely beautiful!!! I like it a lot 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 this is pure metal porn 😍😍
Yeah this ones definitely one of my favourites 🤘🏻
When you spoon off the steal ontop, it reminds me of spooning the unmixed Milo in the top of the glass xD love it
Mmmm milo 🤤🤤🤤
Man I am so jealous of your aluminum, brass and copper “holdings”. Yes I used the word “holdings” because you have a significant amount in my book.
I’d love to have that much brass in my pile.
Oh hell its late but you have inspired me so I’m gonna go fire up the furnace and melt some brass plumbing fixtures that I found a few days ago. Lol
Thanks for the cool vid bro. :)
It's so satifying too see your brass and copper collection growing...
Yeah its definitely something good to see with all the hours i put into it thats for sure.😉
Absolutely beautiful video. This is my best so far. I love it when you show your collections and glances of your life
Thanks mate , yeah I wasn’t sure if people were interested in a few glances but this video has been very well received so I’m glad😁
Brü so glad you've increased the length of your videos. Just re watching some of your oldie but goodies and 10-15minutes just doesn't cut it any more mate. loke not your giving us a full length sitcom episode everyweek Thanks man for real we appreciate what your doing bruv
Glad you like them matey . Todays video comes in at just over 40 mins but I really need to do a shorter video soon so I can catch up a little bit over here😁👍
You doing these videos honestly makes me wanna start doing them myself. I have tons of stuff I could melt down. Just don't have a welder to make the molds.
You can get good Molds off of eBay,
if you check out my video tomorrow i use a cast iron mold I got for $36AUD free delivery it is bloody awesome and a good size👍🏻
AMonsterNut I was thinking the same thing lol
people rarely make there own moulds for stuff like this, you can get a set of molds, a melting pot and crucible tongs for under 20 dollars on ebay
“Ya bro it a gOld bar”
Great straight forward video- thanks mate. Being a welder/sheet metal worker for over 30yrs I’m interested in all things metal, and am starting to get into blacksmithing as a hobby (I’m a Tragic! Lol) - really enjoy ya vids - keep up the good work.
Will do Todd 👌🏻. Cheers buddy 🍻
I came across these videos and I can't stop watching very cool stuff it makes me wanna try doing things like this anyway great videos keep it up
Cool bro cheers 👍🏻. Yeah keep on watching matey 😁
It's interesting to see your skill improve and your tools evolve as you get better and better.
This is amazing man! I come across tons of brass. I just don’t know to melt them and turn them into bars. This helps.
😉👍🏻
It’s beautiful. With some tasteful engravings that’d make an awesome ornament on its own.
Well thank you my friend, I could stamp it that comes up pretty good But at the very least it’s made an awesome shiny doorstop or a very oversized paperweight😉👍🏻
Does borax help cut down on the oxidation? Seems like I can constantly scrap slag off my brass forever if I wanted?
I never use Borax . Well I’ve maybe used it twice in my last 30 brass melts and as I’m always melting the dirtiest of the dirty scrap brass I’m forever skimming crap off aswell . I personally have never noticed a difference when melting my scrap and using Borax🤷🏻♂️but maybe once I start dipping into melting my clean ingots and bars I’ll try it again and maybe that’ll give me different results 🤔🤙🏻
Love the video, as always. Question, how come the steel floats when melting? Is it due tot he meeting temperature or composition of the steel?
Your channel has inspired me to set up my own apparatus. I start casting next week!
Great stuff my friend just remember safety first and always do your research😀👍
Still waiting for video
Hey bigstack. Nice bar man. Very imprest. Can i ask what software programe yoy use to make your into and outro m?
Cheers buddy . My 2 intros I went to a website called FIVER, and for as little as $5-$6 they can make you up an intro and email it to you and there are heaps to choose from👍🏻.
Love all of your vids bigstackD 😃😃😃👍👍👍 it is soooo satisfying
Love your comments 😉👍🏻
First video I ever watched, still love them all.
That's a nice collection you got there. About to start mine.
Cool , have fun🤘🏻😆🤘🏻
Looks like one of the best brass bars I have seen you make. Congrats.
Thanks matey yeah I spent a good part of an hour sanding definitely was worthwhile 😀
Pretty awesome to see how far you've come since this video
Cheers bro 😁👊🏻
Hello from Germany! Thanks for your Video
Thats lovely. Thanks for sharing.
Well thanks for watching😉👍🏻
Dude that turned out awesome, props to your welding skills on that steel mold, great job brother
Yeah it certainly turned out well the mold and the bar , im very happy with both 👍🏻
Perfect videos don't change a single tiny thing!
No worries mate👌🏻😁
These videos are so therapeutic to watch
I subscribed because his videos are always amazing!!!
That’s great my friend I’m glad you enjoy my vids 👍🏻😁. New vids every Friday 🤘🏻😆🤘🏻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
Its nearly 4am and i woke up just to watch. Hehe
You nailed it buddy.
Awesome results 👌
Thanks matey , Sorry for waking ya😉
bigstackD Casting
Its was worth it 😁
Have you ever tried making aluminum bronze? I've always wanted to make one of those myself, but I lack the equipment for it at the moment
Yes mate I make heaps of aluminium bronze bars and coins check out the link below I make a huge aluminium bronze bar and be sure to watch tomorrow’s video where I also make some more aluminium bronze a great bar and big coin 👍🏻
czcams.com/video/FDmQtBUz9ZI/video.html
Money to burn! :D
Nasty crust on the top there!
Gorgeous brass bar!
I hope to have some of my own next year!
yeah it was quite hard to scoop out being so much crap on top but definitely something you would need to do. I dont use any fluxes but im assuming with that much dross floating on the top i wouldnt need to.
Flux actually bonds to some of the impurities, so they don't all end up in the next pour.
Oh okay. Maybe I should use it🤔
Interesting collection congrats :)
Thankyou my friend 😁👍🏻
This is the dude on the block that your wife gazes at from her window while you're at work.
BigStackD - love your videos. I would like to know what brand and model of IR gun do you use as I noticed it goes above 800C (1400F+). Mine only gets that high which is fine for aluminum but not some of the higher melting point metals. I do have a bench thermometer that goes to I believe 1800F but have only got it to 1700F. I use a type K temp probe to measure the heat of the furnace. I would like to get an Ir gun like yours to measure the metal in the crucible.
Thanks mate glad ya liking them . here’s the link 👍🏻

2:27 - THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID 🤣🤣🤣
Please tell me that was a fake bill😂😂
Nah matey that’s a months income for this channel😳fake for sure👍🏻
Oh ok i was thinking the samething 😂
bigstackD Casting that’s a felony if that’s a real bil lol😂😂
Assassin Cow IKR
Assassin Cow ikr
Somebody please tell me the what is the can made from and the spoon material
I think you’re referring to the Crucible which is made out of clay graphite and the spoon is just an ordinary stainless steel spoon👍🏻
I'm loving the editing quality! You've really been stepping it up lately
Thanks for noticing matey 😁. I do spend a fair amount of time editing so atleast you will know if the content is shit the editing will be top notch😉
I ... LOVE IT ...! ONE OF YOUR BEST VIDEO..
Cheers matey glad you still along for the ride🍻
Lots of love to your dedication from India
Thankyou my friend I appreciate your comment😁👍🏻
Very nice as always. Yes that was the money shot pour. #BigstackD
I loved your work
Very nice bar. Collection looks awesome
Thanks matey yeah the collection certainly is growing nicely. 😁
Very nice addition to your collection.
😁👍🏻🍻
This is insanely awesome! You should stamp 24k on the top or something... =)
Some of those brass pieces look like those I dig up metal detecting every now & then... crusty as can be and a file is the only way to tell what material they are. I dug a solid brass threaded rod about 1.5" in diameter & 12" long this past summer... just about deafened me when I detected it. Thought it was lead at first due to the weight... hit it with a file & couldn't believe it was solid brass!
If you wipe the polished brass with shellac, it'll keep that bright finish for a long time as the finish is invisible, but prevents air from getting at and tarnishing the metal. (I do this with my lathe tools all the time - works with steel as well as copper, brass, etc.
shellac aye cool ill have to look into that. Yeah my friend does a heap of metal detecting any gave me a big bucket of mixed metals he found but im yet to go through it and hell yeah that stuff is so dirty only a file and magnet could ever help.
That was awesome! 👍
🤘🏻😆🤘🏻
could you put a steel mesh/sifter at the bottom with some hooks coming up the sides to grab the steel bits floating to the top?
For me its just easier if i skim it b4 i pour. I just need to skim it better as i get to excited when its all molten and wont to pour straight away.
Hey buddy ita me again. Iv just got a propane burner and bottle with some gas in. It does work but i want to be sure im doing it all correctly and you seem to be the guy to talk to.
I can get it lit and fired up however do i turn it off at the burner itself or at the bottle as iv heard it should be done at the bottle ? Whats your advice buddy. It would be nice if you could do a small tutorial on how you light your burner. Achieve the rite flame for smelting and then shutting it off.
Here’s a link for the burner I use he does a tutorial for the burner. Also I always turn the gas off at the bottle as I never like to leave any gas or pressure in the line 👍🏻.
czcams.com/video/5vDz8AP2E8Q/video.html
Pardon the question but how come the steel floats to the top? It’s it because it needs a much higher temp for it to melt?
I've wondered the same thing
Hey if you could point me in the right direction on a good burner for homemade schmelting pot about the diameter of a water heater, I'd appreciate it. Thanks and keep up the great vids
What is the LxWxH of your ingot mold, looks like u used a U angle and welded 2 flat pieces, on each side. Did u weld on the inside. i would like to make one for myself. Tired of using muffin pan.
Yes I used steel U channel bar I cut the ends on an angle to give the gold bar look and welded some steel flat bar on the ends . The base of the mold is as follows 135mm x 60mm The top opening of the mold is 150mm x 70mm. I bent the sides of the U channel bar out before welding and all welding was done on the outside so is not to show up on the ingot. If you live in Australia I can send you some close-up photos but unfortunately if you’re in the states I can’t send pictures through my phone and I have no other social platform apart from CZcams to share things😉👍🏻
awrsome work very awesome gold bar thumbs up
Nice mate, that end shot of your shelf was sweet as, copper, brass and aluminum at the bottom i guess..
I'm really surprised how much it actually looks like gold..
I've always wanted to do some forging at home, can't in the city, no garden...
Cool stuff matey, gonna watch more of your vids, subbed too. : )
Cool bro welcome aboard 👍🏻. On the bottom shelf on the right hand side of the aluminium it is my ever growing aluminium bronze pile , that’s my favourite metal at the moment😁
bigstackD Casting how come? Any special reason? Looks pretty shiny, is it easy to cast?
Is preheating necessary for melting brass?
Thanks for the video do you know any channel who wants to start melt some metal ? Or will you make a video about that
They where some decent flames.. The Bar looks
Pretty good aswell, prob your best one ever
Cheers pal yeah it certainly came out pretty good it’s definitely in my top 5 fo shizzle👍🏻
Are you ever going to get a furnace powerful enoth to melt steel
No I don’t think so mate. I melt cast iron in next Friday’s video and that took its toll on my Crucible and furnace so I will stick with copper brass etc I think👍🏻
wife: what did you do today? me: I watched a guy down under melt various metals and cast ingots and coins and bars... his dog's name is Ingot and although he's never uttered a word, he may be the coolest guy I know. Wife: *rolls eyes* and walks out of my office.
That's a badass shelf you got there
Thanks matey . Yeah she’s pretty cool to look at I recon but I just recently checked the brass shelf and the bloody things pulling away from the wall so I should probably do something about sooner than later 🤷🏻♂️
Nice collection of metals
Thanks matey 😁👍🏻
what do you collect for these items? Is it just a hobby or for business?
I collect them as a hobby they will all be re-cast in future videos
I do it for a hobby money and because nothing cooler than meting copper. She hotter than a booder booder
10/10. Money shot was 👌
Where do you get your ingot molds
Hey buddy I get all my graphite ingot molds from eBay , all my steel molds I actually made out of scrap metal I pulled from a scrap metal bin😁👍🏻
Love to watch your movies! ;)
You really did a nice job on that big boy!
well thankyou my friend. yeah its definitely an awesome addition to my collection.
Can you add both degrees when you take a heat reading?
CJ TheOtt Yeah mate no problems I’ll add that in my future videos when I show the temp👍🏻
Love your pirate style stash 👍☠️
hello bigstackD i have a question, how much propane tanks do you use per 1 video? or if its just 1, then how many videos does 1 propane tank last?
Usually matey I’ll get around 3 vids per bottle with copper 4-5 for brass and atleast 6 for aluminium 👍🏻
@@bigstackD ohhh damn that uses a lot less than i thought.... i really want to do what you do, melt scrap into ingots and coins but i cant cuz i live in a block of flats, not in a house like you :( and i got no room to melt metals except on the balcony but that would probably burn everything lol
Gorgeous bar.
Like always, your videos are so satisfacting to watch mate 👊
Thank you my friend I’m glad you like them 😁
But seriously you deserve more than that, you should have more views :/
Thanx man ,yeah these videos do take a hell of a lot of time and melting metal isn’t a quick process but it’s a hobby I love it and I would do it anyway so why not film it. who knows maybe one day my videos will be well received and this channel will become successful that would be a dream come true. But until then I’ll keep pumping them out one by one when I can and see what happens. Thanks for your confidence mate. 🍻👍🏻
Your welcome ! ;)
Oh lawd that reflection🔥😭
Really..Why do I like this channel so much?
Because it’s coooooooool🤘🏻😆🤘🏻
GIVE THIS CZcamsR A 1000000
What is the stuff on the top of the shelf , i like how you have different levels for each metal
Yeah it looks good all separated👍🏻. Top shelves are my gun collection then under is those is a copper shelf then brass shelf then aluminium. I’m in Australia so unfortunately there replica guns.
bigstackD Casting when is your next casting , can you cast the punisher skull.
Actually I was gonna try do a casting tomorrow of a different logo , hopefully I’ll get the time🤔👍🏻.
Is your crucible an old gas bottle with fire bricks in it? I have a steel bucket with plaster in it but it takes way to long to dry and doesn’t last very long.
Yes mate this furnace is just firebricks in an old barbecue gas bottle👍🏻. If you check out my newer videos I’m sure you’ll love my new furnace😉
bigstackD Casting cheers for that. I realised I called it a crucible after I posted it but figured you would understand. I will have a look at more of your videos too
Yeah I knew what you meant mate. Yeah my latest Video is a good one I pulled a heap of scrap cable out of the bin melted it down into a heap of awesome copper coins👍🏻
bigstackD Casting, I had a look and it looked like a bit of fun. You gave me a few ideas to make my new furnace and to make a couple moulds, cheers for that
Matey, Love you Very Much, May God bless you with more❣️
What kind of market is there for these castings?
Great video Dstacks very cool cheers
Cheers bro 🤘🏻🤪🤘🏻
That's crazy I had no idea steel would float like that.
Wow super job.
😁👍🏻
Nice! On a bar that size and mirror finish the polishing must take a while.
Wont water on your steel mold make it brittle?
bigshotcorpse No bro it’s all good water on the steel mold will never hurt it even if it’s redhot !
But just make sure if you pouring molten metal onto a steel mold that all the water and moisture is gone or has been heated off as moisture in a mold will give you a bad steam explosion 🙄
just one question; why did you put the brass pieces straight into the forge, instead of a crucible?
Just to heat it quicker but with the new furnaces I use I don’t do that as they are way too fast to melt metals 👌🏻😁
@@bigstackD cool, thanks:D
Exactly how much gas does it take to run this thing?
Wow, very therapeutic for sure! Can you tell me where you found those materials. Do you find them or purchase them from somewhere. Would like to do this in the future
