I went into Lush for the first time today in Maidstone, on the back of this review. They didn't have this one sadly, but I tried a few and walked away with Breath of God. I must say the customer service was also excellent, the lady was very helpful and obviously knew the fragrances, plus she gave me a free bath bomb which has the same fragrance. Thanks for the recommendation!
I now regret not entering Lush whilst in UK, which you can probably guess why. :( I used to pass our local branch almost every week for few months. Looking at the ingredients, I'm already liking the prospect. Thanks a lot guys.
So happy to have this review guys!!!! There is a Lush in a shopping center here near Cleveland Ohio and I've been really wondering about their products. They are very pricey with no real way to get samples or decants. This review has been very useful for me Thank you.
Don't know if by now anybody has told y'all the story befind Tank Battle yet so here it goes: Basically this random homeless dude (or he calls himself rentless wich inspired a second Lush perfume called Rentless) actually lived in an abandoned water tanker and our good friend Banksy thought that said water tanker was the perfect canvas for one of his spraypaint art pieces that night. So overnight his 'house' became 'art'. This started a whole debate between art historians and the press wether it's a house turned into art or if it's art you can live in. At the end of the day the guy who lived there was thrown out of it because, well, it wasn't a legal residency in the first place. Banksy felt so guilty because of this that he got in touch with that guy and decided to buy him a nice apartment in time that looked industrial like the water tanker he lived in. This battle you can definately smell in the perfume with the clash of bubblegum and wet dirt. Personally i do get a metallicy spraypaint note but only briefly somewhere in the middle. It isn't very harsh but definately paints an image of spraypaint :)
@@WaftsfromTheLoft I'm browsing the site now and I'm feeling like "One of each, please and thank you!" It all looks so tantalizing. I've narrowed it to Breath of God, that President's Hat sounds amazing, and maybe Sikkim Girls. (Sounds like a nuclear floral bomb!)
Patchouli, Labdanum,!! I must rush to my nearest Lush shop and try Tank Battle out. I own Karma and Breath of God and they are indeed all-time favourites. As always, a treat watching your reviews. Best regards from (a very chilly) Toronto.
I loved that review. I bought Tank Battle from the Arndale Centre, Manchester Lush outlet last year and they still have it (as of today when I popped in). I think it’s great but I took it to my fragrance-loving cousin and she just said ‘Ugh, beetroot’. My only disappointment was learning that it had nothing to do with Mk.1 tanks churning up the Flanders soil as I had thought it was a 100th anniversary World War 1 tribute. Clearly wrong! NB This has not made it onto the Fragrantica database for anyone wishing to see any other reviews.

The fresh earth note likely includes one of my favorite aromachemicals, geosmin. If you two gents like that smell, I encourage you to order a sample from perfumers apprentice
I almost always get a bubble gum effect form tuberose. Very obvious in something like Bubblegum chic by Heeley, but even something like Carnal Flower by FM gives that vibe

Wore it for a year but after 3 times being told I smell like a damp rotten cellar I gave it up for Karma..I adore patchouli!!

Whenever Lush want to create a natural bubblegum note they use clove- would that not be the source of it in Tank Battle- not Tuberose?
