- Hello Everyone and Welcome Back To The Sprinkler Channel. Today we are continuing on with the Hunter PGP Sprinkler Rotor Head about how to select and install nozzles for that sprinkler head. Feel free to subscribe to see all the other videos you will most likely find useful as you go about getting your lawn looking lush and beautiful. Let's jump and look at the sprinkler spec charts for flow rates and other specs related to these nozzles and why they are important when selecting a nozzle to install in the Hunter PGP Sprinkler Rotor Head. The PGP is comparable to the Rain Bird 5000 Rotor Head and are interchangeable but have their differences so be sure to check out those videos on our channel that talk more about each. Tell your friends about the new kid on the block (that's us aka The Sprinkler Channel:) Love to hear if these videos are helping you and other questions you may still have after watching them. Stay thirty my friends....wait, I mean hydrated out there because if you are in the West, the heat is getting crazy! Oh, and here is the link for the charts talked about in this video from Hunter's website: www.hunterindustries.com/site...
Excellent point about how a 90-degree spray lays down twice as much water to an area than a 180-degree. Nice!
GREAT really GREAT EXPLANATION - Thank you for your expertise!
This is definitely one of the best CZcams instructional videos I've seen. He is thorough, and explains everything in sufficient depth and detail to assure the viewer will be successful, unlike a lot where they rush through glossing over important details.
Wow, thanks!
Thank you. Your videos have helped me so much. Thank you so much.
Very good presentation. Thanks
SUPER HELPFUL!!! Many Thanks
Very helpful thank you
Wow . . . another great video! Thank you for posting this information . . . subbed!
Thank You!
Thank you!!!!!
Excellent video! Thanks. I thought you weren't going to show us how to get a nozzle OUT of the head. Putting them in is easy. Getting one of those suckers out can be trying....
Must have got distracted in not making the video too long. Check out our other videos and I know there is at least one of them that does. You can always just unscrew the set screw and turn on the water and let it fly:)
Big box stores and Ace hardware in St Augustine FL don’t sell these, ordered mine on Amazon
Just adjusted my four zones haha
Thank you! My sprinkler came with zero directions!
Ah thanks a lot! Was just wondering what the difference is between low angle and normal!
I have a question. Can you change out the nozzle on a PGP nonadjustable?
Not familiar with the non adjustables but if they have colored nozzles with a set screw I would venture to say yes
How to remove? U show it snap or hard to press in but how do u get it out when there's nothing to grab on to with a needle nose pliers. I have pgp-adj with completely round nozzle.
Great question. You can back out the set screw and then turn on water. That will typically blow it out. Or since I usually am not planning to reuse it I will stick the rain bird tool in the orfice of the nozzle and pry it out that way. Hope this helps!
Do the different nozzles throw the water at different angles? I was noticing today that my 2.0 nozzle seems to throw the water pretty high. If I put a 3 or 4 on there, will it bring the angle down? Or do you have to get low angle heads to get any change?
Yes. The farther the distance / higher flow the steeper the angle.
Low angle nozzles are an option for some models of heads
Other than distance and GPM, what is the difference between Blue nozzle and red nozzle?
I think those are the only differences but I’ll have to double check.
This is a pgp ultra, pgp rotors don’t use these nozzles
That is correct. The concept should be the same.
