Just the right blend of cynicism and world weary commentary for a Sunday evening - nice one mate
"I'm severely drugged , wanna fight?"
LOL
In an attempt to balance rewards they missed the mark. Why waste my time for 25 steel when i can simply wrench a gas station and see about 10 in 30 seconds. I just started this game a month ago and im beggining to understand the cynicism some creators have.
Tbh going from alpha to 1.0 was just not fully thought out from the seems of it and I feel their focus was off put overall the quests went from mega op only way to progress to laughably bad with terrible rewards tbh I'd say at least give players the chance to scale rewards in the world options, getting higher tier quests felt like the main progression and now it's just a waste
That kinda how I feel like and is only worth doing quest if you use a int build to have atlist double rewards from quest and extra duke's wish seem like the extra amount is cap
You should make a series doing what you hate aka build a base from scratch live in it and fight all hordes in it lol
you should give zombienationFFS a watch. dude builds huge horde bases and maxes out zombie counts. he uses a few minor mods that are mainly QoL in nature.
@@spicydeath82 Do you know what happened to Z? he hasn't posted in like 2 years i used to watch those all the time.
@@spicydeath82you should give Skippy0330 a watch
i managed to complete tier 5 in my save and i was really considering not to do missions anymore.
When i saw the changes to mission rewards i thought it was very good because it was way too overpowered but now the rewards are so bad i dont want to do them anymore and the higher the tier the worse it gets.
And the thing is that pois trend to have worse loot when you are in missions, i dont know why but that something a friend of mine and me realized in the past alpha when double looting tier 5 pois.
So i dont see a reason to do missions anymore.
And the map generation got really bad for cities since they are always far away and at least in my map only one of them has two tier 5 pois
Exactly i feel like this update made the game worse !!! why would I spend 30 minutes doing a mission just to get 5 steaks or a magazine bundle ..
did one and screenshotted it just so I could confirm. t5 in the wasteland (1 lvl daring), which took basically an entire day, and I get the choice of
.A single first aid kit
."crafting skill magazine bundle" (that has 3 books you will never use or need and are not specced into
.a hunter mod schematic that I already read
.a single fort bites
.a single forge ahead
insane.
@@mrrooter601 it really makes you feel like you wasted your time.
Btw yesterday i used commands to give myself some xp to get the daring adventurer to max to see what happen, equiped myself with the best equipment using cm and went for a tier 6 mission.
guess what?
the rewards were similar just in more quantity
These videos are truly comforting to me. I love escaping with the daily prebuilt vid every day. Perfectly cynical.
I got the 'find 5 honeys in stumps' challenge done - I had 3 of 5 fairly quickly and then didn't look again until day 20-ish. Took about half a day of driving around to get the last two. I didn't think it was all that tough to get.
Prebuilt says TFP won't have a sniper. But the TFP have super vultures, killed vehicles, super rage digging zombies. And probably more that I can't think of.
Just let me have hordes of zombies in the open world. It's more scary for me to run into a 30+ zombie horde.
31:10 people need to listen and learn from this.
He is wrong here. With 1.0 now the horde lasts the entire night. So on default settings. If you get a basic pistol. And mele fighting the horde at your base you get like 5-7 levels.
@@sbarceaalexandru1456 Yes but his point is that leveling doesn't remotely benefit your actual progression ingame since the learn by looting change which he is absolutely right about. Leveling just deliberately makes hordes harder for you quicker.
I LOVE ACTION LEVEL MODS!!! it makes the game give you a reason to kill zombies other than clear quests
@@malpheus4299 exactly. In the last alpha had radiated zombies by day 14 and demolition. Though I was in the burned forest
Progression has always been iffy in 7 days to say the least. I just don’t worry about being optimal and do what’s fun like fighting hordes. That’s not ideal though for everyone so they really should have multiple progression avenues.
Not just T3 quests, it's T4 as well. I feel like quests got significantly harder (more zombies + health buff) and the end loot doesn't seem like what it used to be. Plus the time it takes to do certain quests and the dukes you get. Idk it feels off. Oh and I also have like 3 points into Daring adventurer, 300% XP.
I used to like the book system until i played Darkness Falls, where there is still a learn by doing system and now i hate the book system.
Yeah DF is a better survival experience all-around
It is the superior way of handeling skill gain, i never understood this way of progression, the books are boring a,f.
Darkness falls really messed up my enjoyment of vanilla. From what I can tell, a lot of DF is inspired by what the community enjoyed from old alphas. Even though I started at A21, I really started to understand the constant criticism of the changes TFP have made since I’ve enjoyed the reverted changes via mods.
I play Alpha 15 on console and its learn by doing. I play with my brother and I usually focus on base building and let him go exploring. Unless you bring back all books home to other to read, can't no longer play that way. So 1.0 have no appeal to us.
Game move from 7 days to die, 7 days to fetch, 7 days to read.
@@billymercier7412lmfaoooooo that’s the best line I’ve read about this game in years!!! Went from 7 days to die, to 7 days to fetch to 7 days to read lmaooooooooooo I love it hahahahahha 💜
I loved the horde night talk. Probably preaching to the choir for some of us, but never stop with it!
Might be some bad news, I may have taken some of the universe's luck with the honey challenge and completed it from casual stump removal on my travels. (Last two stumps were back-to-back honey.)
I'm using nerd helmet %8 xp, scavenger outfit +4 carry, ranger boots +40 stamina and Preacher gloves +40% damage against the undead. When I get more pocket mods then I'm going to switch to an outfit that helps against critical hits. That's all green armors. Pretty good I think! Love that +40 stamina.
Everything is the same for me except boots. I got ones that provide run speed. In case I get caught off guard and gotta dip really quick. I’m always at min 2 into parkour so I can run fast and jump high. No nerd poles for me, just jump to everything. -Luis moving quick makes getting into and out of POIs that much faster. Either way not a bad setup at all. Stamina is always GREAT! 💜
It's so weird... I really don't notice the T-Rex hands when playing but watching videos it's really awful.
Maybe it´s the resolution of the screen?
I actually ended the day 7 horde with more ammo than i began with. The bags at the end after killing them all gave me all my 7.62 back and even some mini bike parts.
The progression in this game gives me the same vibe as Oblivion. On the outside it looks fun, but it’s way too easy to outpace yourself by just playing the damn game that one of the most consistent ways to stay on/ahead of the difficulty curve is to do super counterintuitive strata (not killing zombies, not having your actual build as your major skills)
It’s like they had one meeting for like 15 minutes and just ran with it
wow, a meeting is giving them a lot of credit. I was thinking more like, they passed eachother in the hallway, one mentioned a few things that would make the game worse and not to add them, and the other guy misheard him and got right on adding it.
Since your doing an intellect build u should put points in daring adventurer since it increases your trader stage and doesnt screw up the book loot table so that way you can get sum better weapons
First?! Love the series so far, thanks for putting out content even though The Fun Police make enjoying the game harder, tried playing this version, and found the majority of my enjoyment from this update was coming from content creators like you, and not my own gameplay.
Your comments on the horde night are sooooooo incredibly accurate, game has become FUBAR. Mods on the game are now the only reason to buy the game
Has Rekt always had a tin in his pocket branded "Climax"? BTW I found a legendary item part in a shoe pile, also don't forget the stun baton repulsor mod.
2:40 The new armor is feeling very powerful, perhaps a bit too powerful, dare I say it. Heavy armor especially, even low quality, I felt very little threat from a few Ferals and the occasional Rad. And some of the bonuses seem to be insanely good.
The nerd chest if you can get a legendary quality is insane for powering through book series that I dont really need till later in the game. I save my first legendary mod for that specifically. Even without speccing into armor, ive been getting enough of the Armor books to max it out early and save other books for when i can make the Nerd chest. Saving up vehicle books for instance I end up needing about half or 3/4's the books normally needed to max it out. I just go up enough to unlock the Minibike and save the rest of the books for when i have a good source of fuel and can make whatever vehicle i need/want. Same goes for whatever weapons, tools, etc im going for once I have enough to make a sufficient one to do whatever Im working towards.
Its made me slow down a bit early game and accelerates me to the point I can mostly skip mid-game.
yep, with armor nothing is dangerous, yet still takes ages to kill. wonderful.
Love your videos dude. Been staying up until 1 50am to watch as soon as I can. Keep up the good work!
I'm going to shift over to being a gargoyle on horde nights...
Love the vids and series thus far , definitely enjoy how you keep it real with gameplay!
Preacher gloves with Raider gear and your a freaking tank. The 50%undead damage is a allround modifier and is freaking nuts.
1.0 is just a crappy placeholder while I wait for Subquake to hopefully update UndeadLegacy mod. One dude has made a massively better version of the game with many improvements on the base game
Agreed UL is the best qol mod on the modding scene to date DF is the goofiest for combat i love both.
New trader changes are odd for me. On one hand I’m glad they nerfed them so you don’t blitz through the game. However, it was like that for so long that it’s gonna take ages to adjust properly. At least for me anyway.
"he said the thing" lol yay 2013 humor never change TFP!
7 days to die, 7 days to fetch. Now we got 7 days to read all the books and magazines. 😂😂😂😂
You know what they could add to make hordes worth fighting? Actual horde mechanics. Also, actual horde rewards. Like... Add buildings that spawn into the world you can feed otherwise useless materials into for valuable things. Feed brass into a chip-press to get dukes or ammo or something. Feed paper into a mill to get random magazines, or maybe not so random magazines. Stuff like that which requires the souls of the dead or something to power, requiring a lot of zombie kills. Gives you something to build a hoard base around, or more likely, requires you to fortify and refurbish a POI to defend from. Make a couple buildable though, just in case people don't find one, or they don't find one that they particularly care about. After that just reduce health to about 10% of what it currently is, design some bosses to fight, and have actual *waves* to it with a boss every 5 waves or so. Add drops to those bosses and some treasure zombie types with guaranteed loot bags that are actually worth a damn that despawn too quickly to reasonably get if you're just sitting in a base all horde night. The only issues I see with this is it requires devs that are semi-competent and more zombie types than "generic shambler 69"
Some would say thats a perfectly average, if not sizable shotgun.
Not me, it does look puny....
I also noticed that kiiling too many zombies will make your life much harder.
I remember my first 7 days horde was just insane!
My guess is the FunlessPimps will crank block damage to the moon on horde nights so you can't turtle up to avoid them.
I love your rants man, they're always on point. The Fun Pimps created a great base concept game that also looks/feels mostly good which is very difficult and impressive. Then they take their impressive success and piss half of it away because they spend all their time implementing and subsequently tinkering with half baked ideas on top of their prize creation. It's like they worked real hard to be able to afford top end steaks for dinner every night and then they cook them well done and cover them in ketchup. It doesn't make any sense and it drives me nuts as well. There's so many ways to design the RPG aspect of the game and they chose such a mediocre route. The new armor system is extremely unbalanced and as nonsensical as the rest of the RPG system. Same with perk books and magazines. It's even more difficult to understand why they struggle so hard with the loot tables and quest rewards. Why is it so feast or famine? Where is the balance concern? The game is really fun and worth playing for some time regardless but it could be truly great with better design direction.(and a performance overhaul) I want to experience each stage of the game(early, mid, late) week by week. Veteran players who are trying to progress should be in the stone age until day 8, iron age until day 15, and into steel by day 22 and end game by day 29. Whereas less progression concerned players may regularly take until day 50 to reach end game. I want to progress linearly and I want the most amount of choices to make possible, no more gating weapons and skills behind half-baked class concepts. Let players be a bow expert and expert miner or use shotguns and be an expert hunter/gatherer or be a stealthy sledgehammer expert or maybe I just want a bit of everything; let me mix and match any skill progressions I feel like. Then just make all the armors niche, right now there are too many armors that are too generally strong(preacher, raider, etc..) and others that are generally weak(ranger, athlete, etc...). At least then the players get to choose inconsistent RPG elements instead of having the developers choices forced upon us. Power to the players.
Before horde night i make i farm enough cash for 5 mega crushes and simply outrin the horde, after they implemented the bird chase for driving of during horde night i was ok drugs it is then. But now they are even nerfing that strat by lowering the stat buff from 100% to 50% they are the unfunpimps at this rate, they want people to suffer and die more in there game most all that seems to be the driving force behind all these changes.
Passive horde night, I foresee further improving the structural AI of zombies so they tear down building faster.
watching you play and playing 7 days to die makes things better
To avoid vultures. Go inside a brick building with three or four floors and knock out the stairs
so... so far what I have gathered is that doing trader quests is kinda pointless now, unless you want to double loot somewhere and traders inventory seems kinda sucky too now. Great...
Also, for hoard nights, I think they will just make Zombies do way more block damage in a way your can't turn off during Hoards to prevent roof sitting. Seems like something they would do.
this game always needs mods to make it good
No I know exactly what they'll do. Similar to what you said a timer. If X amt of zombies aren't being killed they'll send a ton of vultures like they did if you try to drive away during horde.
17:04 the crackhead outside the gas station i go to
The kill challenges once redeemed you get items from the traders like a quest reward btw
I just ran around a field during horde night. Chopped them up with a stone axe. Insane difficulty too
I don't know much about loot tables, but i will say that on day 12 or so i was still getting pipe machine guns from cop cars, but a wasteland tier 1 had a level 5 AK
Assassin's full armor is so OP when you have agility build that it makes game go from semi-survival game to straight up FPS game where you just shoot stuff with guns that have suppresor. I went agility/daring adventurer build and got so much decent items out of traders, but it doesn't feel like survival game anymore, just another FPS game
Meanwhile my strength boomstick, shotgun build go brrrr. Soloing tier6 poi's without taking any hits. On insane difficulty. This game is a joke.
@@clownofwar i'm on insane difficulty too, but the zombies don’t even care if I shoot them with m60 they are just chilling. On the night I can easily do 1 tier 6 or 3-4 tier 5 infestations back to back, this game is really a joke
My solution is to have a wide spread on the blood moon hoards. Every 7 days but with a 14 day spread, no warning. I can get one very early, day one, or day 21. I can also get back to back hoards. I just never know.
I hope they either buff honey drop rate or reduce the amount required to make awesome sauce. 5 honey to make each one?! Ridiculous, might as well just remove the crafting recipe ffs.
I wish TFP would have a option to remove the 7 day base horde and have it just happen in the open world.
I don't really care for base building nor do I care to do the horde night fight. I would be ok with slight improvements to prefabs and walking dead/project zomboid city hordes.
But the mods that add hordes of zombies in the city usually solve this issue.
As always with every patch I end up downloading a bunch of mods to make the game more to my liking. While TFP are per usual removing options for "their" end game vision.
Alpha 15 had the best leveling system. If they could have that system with the content there is now. Id actually play it again when I'm able to.
We all gotta play our own way, only different not good or bad.
I got state of decay 2 because it was on sale been waiting ever since your series and I am wondering why I even likes 7d2d
Love your channe m8.
I agree with just about all your criticisms on the game.
YOU SHOULD DO A SERIES SIMPLY LIVING OF YOUR BACKPACK
Not all rewards are bad. The one for killing 50 cops is very op.
I agree. I am on day 10 and i always level my intelligence up so i can get 2 rewards per quest which was OP and tier 3 hasnt been good
When I first noticed I thought perhaps they tried to make the headlight mod serve a purpose but the motorbike and 4x4 have light from the get go, so it's only the minibike. To get light you have to put in the headlight mod and, as you mentioned, the handlebar recipe requires a light to craft. So they FunPimped our rides...?
Man I was really hoping to see a Prebuilt horde base build for this 1.0 stuff it has been absolutely destroying me.
yeah questing now seems pretty meh to do, i dont really see a point in going above tier 3 anymore, the increased zombie HP and the pretty meh quest rewards. Unless the end loot from higher POIs is better for getting rarer items like legendary crafting parts, which i seem to have the absolute worst luck getting even with lucky looter and the new looting glasses mod.
Really?? Im on day 30 i have all tools and armor at lvl6 and 8 legendary parts in storage chest idk what to do with them😂
@@Elpiotras On the server im doing right now my cousin has looted 7 legendary parts, got his first one from a random trash pile on like day 3, i havent found a single one lol
You should try molotov's, they actually kill now
wow, they totally nerfed the zombie bears.
you can cycel backwards without using stamina
Praise lord Helix
I actually like the rewards more, way more book bundles which is nice I think, but iv still got decent stuff for rewards
The new armor system almost makes me not even want to buy the game when it comes to console
Chances are if too many people avoid hordes like this they will make it so even more vultures spawn, especially the radiated ones, like they do if you try to ride your vehicle on hoard night, but so far I've only seen you doing it so you might be safe, for now 😅
Scary predictions, at this rate i would not take it away from them. Well more reason to setup some smg turrets and make em face the sky as some makeshift AA guns.
Question: what do you look for when finding a house to ride out the horde in? I’m always a bit too nervous to do that but would like to.
Large flat roof if possible, strong walls ideally, preferably no way to get onto the roof other than placing your own blocks and at least 2 floors tall so things like cops have a harder time long shotting you.
I hate the vultures they are so effing annoying
tier 4 rewards are even worse
I'm not sure if I missed it or not, but did they fix the glitch with the stun baton taking longer to charge when you first use it
The zombie ai has gotten so bad.
if you don't build and don't care about the horde night xp, why not just disable the hordes altogether?
Explained in video you are watching
I love that you blatantly don't play the way they want you to. Lol
No sarcasm
horde night podcast 😂😂
I would love to see you play without being so ain’t about the particulars and just have fun
Huh, I've been gaming on a widescreen for a while now. Biggest issue is the image stretching at the sides. I've been able to mostly eliminate it though it still does it to a small degree. I noticed that yours is doing it too and you're just playing on 16:9 aspect ration. Can't help but wonder what your FOV is.
Cheese bases still work fine for horde nights. Typical bunker bases are gonna get absolutely demolished though.
My FOV is maxed like a normal person because i dont care if my game that looks like dogshit looks like stretched dogshit.
Question. Now that all quests level up at the same time, do I have to go and do the number of quests from Jen to get Bob and complete the opening trade routes challenge? Or can I go back to Rekt to do tier 2 and get Bob from him?
Also, theoretically, could you just have hoard night every night, set the hours of the day to the quickest and sit up on top of a silo with food and drink on day 1-10 to get the survive 10 hoards challenge?😊
I think you just need to unlock the next tier of quests and then talk to your newest NPC. I grinded Reck and then went to jen who then sent me to bob who then sent me to Hough. On tier 5 now, might ride out to Hough and see if he sends me to Joel.
Could you please raise the video volume in future videos?
I'm on mobile and it can be kinda hard to hear.
Can u combine stuff at workbench ? 😂
PLEASE CREATE NEW HORDE BASE VIDEOS❤
6:42 I have a general question about this... if you find a working chemistry station/workbench/cement mixer, is it possible to lay a land claim down and then pick them up to take back to your base?
Do you mean if you just find one in the wild?
There isnt any working ones that spawn in. Theyre all broken
@@terra8511 I was gonna say but idk how multiplayer works so they could have been talking about that
@@terra8511 stg this used to be a feature (alpha 16ish) and i would just base @ a working workbench
@bioware0279 In multi-player, how would you be able to place a land claim block near someone else's base to steal their crafting stations? I don't know how MP works either, but stealing crafting stations would be an exploit, imo.
8:45 funny that's exactly what my ex said to me
The more videos I watch from YT creators the more 1.0 loses its appeal tbh. It's all so utterly 'meh' and has added almost nothing of interest (other than new POI's which are always welcome). The difficulty spike added to the vastly reduced rewards means attempting tier 2 and 3 infested with a potato gun and a toothpick, no thank you. I am all for challenge but they really have lost the plot with this (imho).
what is the mod for your stun baton that charges every other hit
That's an effect from one of the Tech Junkie books, you don't need a mod for it.
ok thanx ill take note of that have a good day and look forward to your next video
What Version of 7 days to die let you keep your empty water bottles?
I think alpha 19 or 20 and below
Alpha 20, with 21 being what allows for water to be drank out of water sources
Yes was before the game got ruined and made stupid
among us
All quest rewards suck.
Yeah this game definitely has gone wrong path, I played console version recently alpha 15 and I actually like that game a lot more than current version, there was a lot of cool mechanics like wellness, better farming system, learn by doing and much more, realistic graphics instead of cartoony is also a huge benefit, I think they completely ruined the game when they decided to add quests with pois and make them dungeon style now all you do is just farm and speedrun them to get op items, the game doesn't feel like survival game anymore which is the worst thing that could have happened to this franchise, if I was on Fun Pimps place I would just entirely scarp current game and revert everything back to alpha 15 and keep developing game from there, because it was peak 7 days to die
Honestly i just started modding my game. I like being OP. If i wanted some boring af slog of a game where i struggle to survive every night id play Rust.
Is spear not good anymore?
I Believe they took away the stacking buff. Now it feels super weak with the added buff to zombie health.
@@JDavis-mh4rg I'm spec in it. I see the green buff when I'm hitting zombies. So if that's what you're talking about, I don't think it's gone. I was just asking him why he isn't choosing spare basically..
@@Robbydarkwoodspear is still goated especially the steel one and if you have a friend that goes charismatic nature
@@ELPez276 I thought so
@@Robbydarkwood intelligent is just overall extremely OP getting use of the stun baton which can well stun and also the repulsion mod on it is way strong. Going down further into the tree it also has robotics which is crazy op cuz you essentially get the 2 turrets that can melt hordes for you as long as you keep them stocked and repaired, also the medicine perk set if you look at the bottom just get the chance to legit one shot zombies with your baton
I watch enough of your video to understand your humor/frustrations. But some time you really don't at like you enjoy this game anymore. you like of sound like Lumbergh from office space.
This really doesn't bode well for 1.0 yikes.
If this gets released in this state on 25th of juli, it will get nuked on the store page.
@@clownofwar absolutely.
So lets just get all the level 6 weapons and tools from quest and be bored by day 20... This is better than what it was before, as far as leveling, it does matter, you can cure sprains with a point in physician, you can jump 2m if you got 2 points in parkour and so on, little things like this changes the gameplay. Sure rewards still need a bit of tweaking but its far better than what it was before being handed literally endgame gear as early as like day 16-18. Game is suppose to be challenging its a survival game.
You sound like you've lost all joy in the game. Personally, except for the new controller UI being completely BORKED, I'm loving 1.0
Cops, birds, demos and spiders all could take out someone camped on a rooftop.
If only i had said that in the video oh wait i did
after all this time, v1 and the "fun" pimps have made the game almost pointless...... bonkers.
I lost interest in the game.
