Gotta love his role as The Conductor! As a kid, I loved the songs Starr sang on the most. They just had a great singalong feel to them, like anyone and everyone was welcome to join in and share the fun. When he did a duet with Buck Owens later on, I had so much fun with that because I also admired Buck Owens from his time on Hee-Haw. 🙂
Yes most of the songs ringo sang with the Beatles were just super fun singalong’s. Long Live Thomas the Train! 😊

This is how I would describe Ringo Starr, Ringo Starr was the absolute perfect percussionist/drummer for the Beatles. I will never know if all the drumming he did was what he had in his head, or if it was what he had in his head plus what the others wanted him to do. But either way he was able to read what was needed and executed his part perfectly….! Example would be the drummer that Paul McCartney has now in his band versus Ringo Starr, on the same Beatles songs. There is no comparison. The drummer that Paul McCartney uses now not play them songs as well. He just seems to be a power drummer and nothing more. This is just my opinion.
