    Ive just received my new Sandman 1HP pump & Sand filter for my all vinyl Intex 18 ft round easy set pool that looks like your pool here. Please answer a question for me. IVE GOT MY filter and pump off of together and secured however it's instructing me to ground the water pump before ever plugging it in to the power and I was wondering if I need to do that and what exactly I needed you to do that because I got a thick copper wire connected it to the grounding terminal located on the top of the motor I dug a hole about 2 ft deep, got a pole and ran the solid copper wire from the grounding connector, thru the pole and down into the ground burried a couple feet down into the ground along with the pole that is around it. I'm not seeing anyone else doing this with their sand filter and pump with these pools so Im so confused.

    Great video--thank you! My valve head won't seat properly. The O ring is on there flush, so I'm wondering if it's possible that the opening of the sand tank is defective. Any tips?

    • @PhillipCeriale
      @PhillipCeriale  Před 3 lety +2

      If you don't have the tube coming up from the sand centered or it is going on an angle that would cause the misalignment. Did you make sure all the sand if off of the mating surfaces? Did you use the Pool & Spa Lube on the mating surfaces? I guess there could be a defect but it is unlikely. All those units are built from the same mold and that kind of defect should have been caught at the factory. i would check my alignment over and make sure the tube is going into the bottom of the head and the tube is true vertical. Also, the ring that secures the head to the filter needs to be clamping down on both head and filter. Try tightening up the nut a little but not too much. Hope this all helps. Good luck and thanks for watching.

    • @PhillipCeriale
      @PhillipCeriale  Před 3 lety

      Yes/No... The efficiency of the filter will be a little less until the sand works through the system. And, you run the risk of damaging the head/seals of the filter. Honestly, depending on how much sand went down the manifold, I would dump it all out, take it apart to clean it and start over again. However, you may get lucky and everything will be alright. I've seen it go both ways. Thank goodness these filters are dirt cheap and easily replaced if they fail. Sorry about the no answer - ;o) Thanks for watching!

    • @PhillipCeriale
