- On the 29th June of this year, stop motion magician, Ray Harryhausen would have celebrated his 100th Birthday. Having admired Ray's work from an early age and it's huge impact on my life growing up, I thought it would be fitting to dedicate a short film to his legacy. It's been a real learning curve and I'm happy to show it on this landmark day of Ray Harryhausen's Centenary. I hope you enjoy it!

Ah, no wonder I haven't seen it around, still 5 hours to go. Hanging out for this one!
StopmoNick e too
Loving it so far... Yay, Cyclops wins, been waiting for that since 1958!
There's no doubt Ray Harryhausen would have loved it. Can't wait to see the film !
Awesome work. I always liked the Stop motion creatures that Ray Harryhausen did. Ray would've liked your stop motion work. GrEaT Job 👍
Dude I am so excited. You’ve actually inspired me to make my own dinosaur movie.
DODA Films are actually making a dinosaur move too?
Go for it!
Angus Lamont Thanks Angus
@@axiorsomethin130 Yes it’s called “Land Uncharted”, coming out on my channel in 2025
Bravo!! Very well done Angus 👍👌👏👏
You've talked about this these last several years. Now all of your hard work has beautifully come to fruition! Congrats Angus and Happy Birthday Ray! :)
A very Nice 5 minutes spent watching this delightful short film.
Excellent work Angus!! This was absolutely on point, what a wonderful tribute to his work. Loved the ending too 😍👌
Wow! Great work Angus. What a lot of work. I love your take on two of Ray's best creatures and your amazing environments are awesome. Congratulations on taking on a big project and seeing it through with fantastic results. Can't wait to see what's next.
Such a beautiful tribute for Ray! I bet he would love to see your short film. :D
Well Done!
That was fantastic!! Kudos for such fine work and efforts!! Please do more!
Very great work! It’s always wonderful to see passion in play, especially for a lesser seen art form!
Brilliant,I've loved stop motion since I saw 7th voyage when I was 7 years old on tv,50 odd years ago lol
Great job Angus! I really liked the shot when the column is tumbling behind the Cyclops.
Thanks! That was one of the more technical shots, which involved three separate moving elements. The Dino and Cyclops were animated separately and then synced up. The pillar was a high speed miniature, which was shot before animation, in order to sync the movements with the falling sections.
That was bloody amazing Angus
Very excited to see it!
Love the Kong face scratch.
Great work! The twist at the end was brilliant.
Great work Angus. Well-paced and a strong narrative too. Well Done!
Thanks John!
This came together so well, excellent work!
Fantastic work mate! Really good to see the fruits of your labours :-) Ray would have enjoyed this.
So Cool!! Great Work!!! I've always wanted to put Jason and the Argonauts style Skeletons in our series Spellfury but have never tried stop animation before, love how it looks though!
some nice vintage look and style
Wow! Brilliant Angus. Loved it! Took me right back to my childhood. Jumped out of my skin at 1:22.
Lamontscope adds such a cool dimension to the cinematic experience! Extremely well done, man!
Cheers Gary!
This is gonna be amazing!!!
Wow man that was amazing you are really talented
Can't wait!
Excellent work Angus!! All that hard work paid off!

Love your work.
Can't wait to see it! 👍
Great stuff - a lovely tribute to Ray
Great tribute!
Ooh, can't wait. Logged in to see if it was available yet and am a bit excited, if impatient waiting for 3pm to come around...
David L Rattigan its 7 at where im at
@@axiorsomethin130 So unfair you have to wait longer!
It should be the same for everyone?
@@animateangus I assume he's just in a different time zone. (My reply was sarcastic!)
Nice short!
I was hoping the T-Rex would win in this guy's dream but doesn't matter cause the film is still awesome.
This is so GOOD! I can practically feel the love that was put into this. Im still pretty young and I have always really been into Harryhausen movies. I watched them SO much as a kid and I still watch them to this day. In fact, I have...literally every single movie he worked on. This was such an amazing video you made! My favorite Ray monster may be the unpopular vote but it's the rhedosaurus. It's not the best movie he was a part of but it is my favorite monster because no joke HIS MONSTER WAS THE INSPIRATION FOR GODZILLA! I also loved Godzilla as a kid. Im pretty sure you can buy almost all of his movies here on CZcams for pretty cheap.
Fabulous!
Amazing work Angus! I can tell there’s been a lot of painstaking hours put into this project but it was all worth it. Love the ending the acting was Oscar worthy.
Thank you! Writing my award speech right now 🤣
That was bloomin' marvellous!
Hats off to you, Sir.
A very worthy tribute to The granddaddy of it all!
Thanks for sharing 👍🖖
Great work
This is the most Excruciating 8 hours of my life!!
Amazing work! Happy see people still care for Harry Harryhausen's craft!
Fun.
Incredible work, Angus! You’ve absolutely nailed it.
Nicely done! Beautiful atmosphere and lots of little touches that make a great tribute to Ray.
Delightful! Well done, Angus. This was no mean feat. I'm sure Uncle Ray would have loved it. I know I do.
This is a fantastic video wonderful stop motion Ray would be happy! I can’t wait to see what you have next!
Fantastic work Angus, a great tribute to Ray.
Oscar 🥇 goes to primordial Adventure
Its my bday today this is gonna be the best b day ever!!!
Whoa
Amazing, good job!
I really loved it! It captures the magic of Ray Harryhausen’s work. Ray was a big inspiration for me getting into stop motion animation. This short was really good! Keep up the good work!
hey man i really like the green screen effects here, like how you did the trike carcass, the temple and all that. Do you mind linking a good tutorial for that... or maybe make one? :D
Working on something along those lines. Cheers!
What sounds did you use for the Cyclops?
I'm going to do a post with all the references and in-jokes.
@@animateangus Okay
Did u see ray harryhausen when you where a kid
Yeah when I was 13.
Amazing! The only problem I have is that sometimes your greenscreened into the forest where I feel like you could easily go out an film in the woods. I know it's hard cause of lockdown and I do understand that you didnt have alot of time and material. And because of that it just makes it even greater! Thanks for making this!
Angus, I love you mate, but if you use the "cyclops & Dinosaur" excuse for being late to work, I'll have to grass on ye.
Hahaha cheers Q!
Really love the movements and design of the monsters, they looks alike Ray Harryhausen's puppets
But in my opinion, it will be better animation if the human character/you wasn't on the video...GOOD WORKS!
I admit, I’m not an actor but having the actor in the film gave the film a narrative and I also wanted to pay tribute to Ray’s ‘Dynamation’ process, which combined stop motion with live action.
